Answer: the Retin-A and Hydroquinone first followed by the peptide cream. I do not think you will get much more from the estriol cream. I think you have maximized the effects with what you already have on board.JG 2.8.10
Answer: Retin-A and Hydroquinone for the corners of the mouth, maybe liposuction for the neck and not much for the legs I am afraid. JG 2.8.10
Answer: without seeing you in person it is difficult, it might be straight liposuction and it also might need a neck lift with skin removal in larger cases. JG 2.8.10
Answer: I am afraid that I have nothing that will work for that, sorry. JG 2.8.10
Answer: I think it has more control over causing excess bulking from the purse string suture used in a MACS lift. I perfer the smasectomy the vast majority of the time. JG 2.8.10
Answer: I personally like it better than the MACS lift. The names are complicated but at the end of the day, or I should say, end of the first year after the surgery, the differences are really hard to see between all the techniques, it is more marketing hype than anything. The MACS lift is actually based upon an operation that was described in 1908 by a Russian surgeon with minimal changes! JG 2.8.10
Answer: it should not increase the risk, no. JG 2.8.10
Answer: you can try Retin-A is about the only cream I might suggest. JG 2.8.10
Answer: you can try our cell matrix peptide cream on our shopping cart, it does not exfoliate (which your skin does not need for fear of worsening things) but should help your skin issues. JG 2.8.10
Answer: safe to use the IPL, yes, sorry we are not closer too, all the best. JG 2.8.10
Answer: no,they will go away in time it is just the skin is thin and the bruises are more easily see. Hang in there.JG 2.8.10
Answer: I personally use those products everytime I plan on any laser or chemical peel, yes. JG 2.8.10
Answer: I do not endorse Latisse due to its potential side efects and no eye lash extender helps 100% of patients, sorry. JG 2.8.10
Answer: yes, and then restart with alternating the creams to be sure it is OK. JG 2.8.10
Answer: not as good as one deep one. JG 2.8.10
Answer: I think once the swelling from the Harmony goes away, so does the skin tightening, but you are free to try it. I do not suggest Estriol as moisture will not tighten skin and is only of benefit in women who have low estrogen levels. I think with the limitations you have placed, you are doing what I would suggest, the Retin-A, sorry. JG 2.8.10
Answer: never seen weakness occur, maybe it is just a small nerve irriation, should all go away on its own. Hang in there. JG 2.8.10
Answer: The YAG laser for he entire face except the pale spots. JG 2.8.10
Answer: for red we use the 532, it is a Q-switched YAG so it has both frequencies. We have one in our office, yes. There is no spot that will cover the entire face, there has to be a overlap pattern at all times when using lasers, that is up to the person performing the treatmetn and their experience, missed spots can always happen to all people. There is not way to just incite the blood vessels and them alone to regenrate, sorry. I think th eeffects of ReLuem are short-lived in my opinion. JG 2.7.10
Answer: seems like a fair price compared to others out there. JG 2.7.10
Answer: we use Arnica 6X at 4 trouches sublingual 4 times per day and bromealin 200mg twice daily. As to he Lipo-Ex, sorry, no experience with it. JG 2.7.10
Answer: might be connected, migth suggest some Levulan and pulsed light therapy by a dermatologist, I wish you the best. JG 2.7.10
Answer: Alexandrite or a YAG is an option, it is a risk with any laser resurfacing and it why we use sunblock both inside and out until totally healed. It more likely did not expose damage that was already there, more likely it is something called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. We alwyas pretreat with hydroquinone before any resurfacing to limit the potential of it happening. JG 2.7.10
Answer: see above answer.JG 2.7.10
Answer: I would use it for about 10-14 days or until the skin has healed its surface, essentially when the spot stops buring. JG 2.7.10
Answer: we do offer a company that helps with financing but we do not perform pro bon cosmetic surgery, sorry. JG 2.7.10
Answer: it is a laser that is performed to reduce redness and attempt to stimulate a small amount of collagen lost with aging, it is a focused energy source that clots small blood vessels in the skin seen with aging. It is lighter than a VBeam and safer and more specific than a chemical peel. Very safe. JG 2.7.10
Answer: it will eventually fade, you can use something like a buff puff on it while in the shower but do not do it so much that you scratch the skin. JG 2.6.10
Answer: well, it will not work as well as the CO2 did for you in the past, but I guess something is better than nothing. I think in general it is safe, yes.JG 2.6.10
Answer: might try a YAG laser peel on the surrounding area to at least lessen the redness in that skin so the difference is not as visible, wish I had more to offer. JG 2.6.10
Answer: I like aquaphor better and I leave them open, all the best. JG 2.6.10
Answer: I have seen it squezezed out, not easy to do though, as to the Wydase, it does spread but I have nto seen it cause a problem becasue of that.JG 2.6.10
Answer: might be another 3-7 days, warm moist heat, arnica and bromelain from the health food store. Hang in there. JG 2.6.10
Answer: of those, the only one I would say yes to, is the Pixel, but its not an enthusiastic yes.Sorry. JG 2.6.10
Answer: I do not think that will be a problem to use. All the best. JG 2.6.10
Answer: pleats are where the skin has folded due to an incision being kept shorter, and the skin bunches up, extending the incision to remove the skin can be done but then the scar is longer and potentially more visible. Think of a pleated pair of trousers for men where there are pleats on the waist in front or a pleated skirt, just folded skin. JG 2.5.10
Answer: well, I have heard of it happening from both, at the begining only unipolar was out there and the reports started for fat loss, the bipolar people then promoted theirs as much safer, but as time went on, there have been reports of fat loss with those also I am afraid. I think for the degree of tightening you see, I cannot recommend either one. JG 2.5.10
Answer: well, it is cheap and likely will do no harm, but I do not think that it will stop hair from falling out in the majority of cases. In most cases in females your age it is a matter of testosterone dominance over the low progesterone you have. JG 2.5.10
Answer: it would be red and itchy, like a case of the hives. The pain on the lateral area may be from a stitch that was placed to close the pocket, a stitch placed there can commonly irritate nerves on the ribcage and cause the pain. I doubt that is the cause for all of the issues you have described though. JG 2.5.10
Answer: swelling and creases should all get better with a bit more time. Not sure why the eyelid is blinking slower though if no eye surgery was done, I suggest seeing your surgeon to ascertain what is the cause for the eyelid discrepency. JG 2.5.10
Answer: it will irritate the skin too, I trust you have been using sunblock over it all the time. You cna also add Retin-A to it to see if that helps tha fading. Hard to say 100% without seeing what is going on, but it should have started fading by 6 weeks, I suggest seeing the doctor who prescribed it to you before making any changes. Best of luck. JG 2.5.10
Answer: should be OK, yes. JG 2.5.10
Answer: might suggest using some nasal decongestant sprays until it heals a bit more. Best of luck. JG 2.5.10
Answer: if there is no exposed cartilage and no septal perforation, I have not seen it last longer than two years to get better. JG 2.5.10
Answer: It is possible to be allergic to Alloderm, but what you are describing does not sound like an allergic reaction, it sounds like the tissues just are not strong and healthy enough to heal and that is what is happening, allowing bacteria from the skin to become a problem. Fluid comes from the normal swelling process after surgery and normally is absorbed by the body, but if there is a weak point in the skin, it likes to go the path of least resistance. There is a chance that it could happen again, but not high, although once you have had a problem such as that, risks of problems are certainly higher than the first time. I doubt the Alloderm caused the problem, it was there before the Alloderm was used. I wish you all the best. JG 2.5.10
Answer: well, in very small doses for people that wrinkle their chin pad, it can work, but if it is too much, the lower lip can become weak and then your lower teeth can show, and that`s a sign of aging. Since it will only affect the dimpling seen when you contract that muscle, you need to decide if it is worth it.I think I have doen it 5-6 times in my Botox career. Most of the time it is fine, but if you get unlucky, you look weird for a few months. All the best. JG 2.4.10
Answer: thank you for expressing your confidence. I would wait at least three months after, that should be enough. All the best. JG 2.4.10
Answer: they can,but they also increase the potential scarring if they do, I do nto think it is a reasonable alternative to lasers due to the increased scarring problem. If the person does not have a laser but can do TCA, they will try to talk you into it though. JG 2.4.10
Answer: well, I guess it depends on what you call firming, if you mean relieving fine lines, then yes, if you mean puffing the skin, no, if you mean lifting the skin, no. JG 2.4.10
Answer: I use Restylane to fill in the rim of the orbit, it works well, there are reports of lumps but most with a little massage and time dissipate. I have heard about the vein treatment and thanks for the personal follow up, unfortunately, result vary widely from what I have heard and read . Glad yours went well. JG 2.4.10
Answer: well, I do not think it will be a mess, I think he is being careful and preparing you for a potential slow helaing and lots of bruising. I think if you can get off the Plavix for a few days, it would decrease the risk, but there is always a risk of a hematoma, even without the Plavix. In cases like yours I think a minimal undermining of the skin will be less risky, the proposed amount of skin can many times be pre-marked and then no further lifting of the skin past that is done to limit the potential severity or size of the hematoma. It might decrease the degree of improvement but there will be a comensurate decrease in the risk. Will likely have to compromise a little is all, I wish you the best and glad the ticker is stil ticking well. JG 2.3.10
Answer: not a fan of the new and improved oen either. Funny how they promoted all of the earlier versions as the best, yet they seem to always have a need to make it better, ever wonder why they need to do that if the one before was so great. JG 2.3.10
Answer: what I mean is that the speed and degree of the thickening of the skin on the tip of your nose is variable and conrolled by genetics, so there is no way to predict how fast and to what degree it will happen. As to losing the detail, imagine placing a thin cotton sheet over a chair versus a goose down comforter, the sheet would allow most people to see that it is a chair where the comforter would only reveal a lump, that is how the thichkenss hides the detail of the tip. It is impossible to say how much of a change a person will see without feeling the tissues, and even then, it is an approximation. JG 2.3.10
Answer: no. JG 2.2.10
Answer: stay warm and get some rest! JG 2.2.10
Answer: not uncommon due to scar tissue and poor circulation on the mucosa covering the cartilage, warm normal saline sprays help, and using a humifier in your home too, it will get better, but very slowly, nothing to worry about though.JG 2.2.10
Answer: they would be similar to any other time you get an infection, redness, a pimple or a bleb that has pus like material. The vinegar is used to dislodge the dead skin off the healthy healing skin below it, prolonged and extended use would cause skin dryness, yes, but you will only be using it for a few days JG 2.2.10
Answer: I have never seen nor heard of that happening to be honest. JG 2.2.10
Answer: I concur. JG 2.2.10
Answer: Well, there is no way to really tell, it all depends on where and how it is injected. I would suggest starting with one syringe and then adding more only if needed and if no problems have arisen previously, sorry, wish I could give you a flat answer but it does not exist. JG 2.2.10
Answer: for 1-2 minutes and 3-4 times per day. Over the entire face. JG 2.2.10
Answer: it is warm and no, it is not too late. Best of lcuk and get some sleep. JG 2.2.10
Answer: impossible for me to say as it has not been tested and there is no guarantee. You woudl need to ask your dermaologist as to which medications you can use while pregnant. JG 2.2.10
Answer: no one knows 100% but it should be as it is not absorbed systemically so it should not touch or reach the baby. JG 2.3.10
Answer: I am not sure that skin care line for acne has even been tested for safety on pregnant females, sorry. JG 2.2.10
Answer: I do not at present due to the unpredicatablity of how much of the fat will survive and it is also much more expensive than using implants that are quite easy to guarantee a certain size change. JG 2.1.10
Answer: no, it should not scar, you can take a little water and put a teaspoon of vinegar in about 16 oz and then use that to soak a wash cloth, lay it on the area, and that will help loosesn the crusts over the areas so they fall off easier on their own. You need to always wipe the ointment off totally before applying more over the area. I think the medications are appropriate, just hang in there, it wil heal in time. JG 2.1.10
Answer: I use the Hall-Findlay technique, the length of the scar is dictated by the amount of skin that has to be removed, one can market a short scar, but if you need a long scar and all you get is a short one, there might be some extra skin where you do not want it. All lifts are intended to lift the nipple, unless it is a secondary procedure being performed for bottoming out of the breast mound where the nipple is in good position but the inferior aspect of the breast skin has stretched out. I think every surgeon believes the technique they use lasts longer than the others, that is why they do it, but in all honesty, they are all pretty similar when you look at them after 5 years in women of equal parity and equal residual breat size. I cannot say that any technique is appreciably less expensive than the others. JG 2.1.10
Answer: sorry, yes, if it is just due to the fluid from the injection and the swelling for any shot, it should go away in about 7 days. A little ice and head elevation and avoiding salt might help some too. All the best. JG 2.1.10
Answer: I am doing great, thanks. As to the filler on top of an implant, yes, it is OK to do that. I think most off the shelf fillers like Restylane always continue to work, it is more of how much is needed to hide what age has done is the issue. As long as you like what you are getting and the price is not a barrier, I think you can proceed. all the best. JG 2.1.10
Answer: you can use them both if you desire, there is more evidence on the effects of the tretinoin over many years though. JG 2.1.10
Answer: you are very welcome. JG 2.1.10
Answer: there is always a small amount of your own hyaluronic acid that is dissolved but your body replenishes it fairly quickly. Might just need some more in the the areas that were not treated with the dissolving agent is all. Best of luck. JG 2.1.10
Answer: I cannot say 100%, sorry. Once you test pregnant though, there is blood to blood communication to the baby. JG 2.1.10
Answer: yes, and it can also cause weakness of the eyelid muscle so you will see too much of the white portion, can lead to temporary dry eye, can lead to the fat pockets behind the musvle looking puffier too. JG 2.1.10
Answer: well, it usually does not work out that way as the concentration more so correlates to how long it will last and not as much as to the volume it will replace. Not a silly question at all. JG 2.1.10
Answer: the indentation would only occur if only part of the angioma closed off, the angioma occupies space and unless it is cut out, it will either return or leave a potential depression. JG 2.1.10
Answer: correct. JG 2.1.10
Answer: muscles do heal and nerves if they were cut do not, some of the loss of sensation is likely permanent, but some of the issues sound like possible levator muscle disruption of the upper lid and also some excess skin removal. I think the best is to get a new consultation by a different surgeon, in person, to see what they think is going on. At times, a fresh view brings new treatment options to light. I think you should avoid the brow lift until more of the problems improve. I will also say that the lasik alone can cause some of the vision problems, I am sorry to hear about your problems but I think an in person evaluation by a new opthamologist is very important. Best of luck. JG 1.31.10
Answer: I am sorry but no, I do not. JG 1.31.10
Answer: should not affect your rhinoplasty results. I think avoiding any skin irritants on the skin like glycoic acid products is the best way to allow the skin to heal, it will not take too long. Best of luck. JG 1.31.10
Answer: it might be just a little lake of the Restylane SubQ that is in one area and it is soft so it can feel like that. Nothing to worry about, your doctor coudl try to remove a little by using a needle to suck a little out. JG 1.31.10
Answer: I think fat injections or Sculptra are an option. I think promises are difficult to fulfill in surgery, so just be conservative. Best of luck. JG 1.31.10
Answer: I always suggest removing the small one and replacing it for fear that the new one would not sit properly or move after the surgery. JG 1.31.10
Answer: well, there are no studies to show its safety, I cannto say 100% that an abortion is indicated. I think you should speak about the issue with your obstetrician, but it is not as severe a problem as Accutane, in that cases, the chances for severe child deformities is very high, not so in Tazoarac. JG 1.31.10
Answer: I would not spend my money. JG 1.31.10
Answer: yes, all still normal. JG 1.31.10
Answer: no, let it heal and it will get better on its own. I would suggest trying not to force it off. Just follow up with Dr Mon, all sounds normal, best of luck. JG 1.31.10
Answer: having money to burn is not an excuse. I think you have taken the first step and realized that you might be starting to obsess about things, overall that is a good thing, the realization I mean. I defintely think that doing things before they are needed with fillers or Botox are not something I would suggest, it will not help you look better, might make you look fake, and will feed the obsession. I honestly do not see it alot, maybe because once I see iT starting to happen to a patienT I back off and refrain from feeding their obsession. They probabaly just go find someone else at that point. The hardest part for a platic surgeon is saying enough is enough. JG 2.3.10
Answer: no, you should be using at least spf 50 or higher. Use a sunblock and not a sunscreen and the sunblock should have enough moisturizer in it. JG 1.31.10
Answer: mild. JG 1.30.10
Answer: I think there are a number of very good older surgeons that do a great job, plastic surgery is more like playing the piano than lifting heavy, so as long as he is in good helath, I think it is fine to proceed. All the best.JG 1.30.10
Answer: I seriously doubt it. JG 2.3.10
Answer: no one single laser will correct all of the problems, the lasers that help reduce the wrinkles and remove spots will aggravate the spider veins, and there is nothing that will help the pores for more than a few weeks. It will be a combination of a resurfacing laser followed by a pigment laser, like a CO2 first and a YAG laser second, after that it would be microdermabrasions or IPL for the ppores. I still have a few heads for my Rhytec and there is a company that is getting ready to start sellling new heads, not sure about new machines though. All the best. JG 1.30.10
Answer: it will not help the moles but will help the spots, I think the Tazorac and hydroquinone at night and then sunblck right before the makeup in the morning.JG 1.30.10
Answer: not much. JG 1.29.10
Answer: for the right candidate, someone who does not have alot of loose skin, it is a good option, but it is not for everyone. JG 1.29.10
Answer: usually that occurs to some hormone imbalance with too much testosterone and therefore too much DHT. The predisposition to acne is genetic, if the pores get plugged with the oil and they harbor bacteria to a certain level on their skin, they are more prone to the acne. JG 1.29.10
Answer: well, you can certainly try it, please give us feed back on how long it corrected for after the shot. JG 1.29.10
Answer: I am sorry but we use regular Restylane, not the thinner Vital Light due to its very quick disappearance. JG 1.29.10
Answer: in some cases, it is a matter of years, until the hormone issues balance out. Might want to ask your dermatologist about other options, like Accutane. JG 1.29.10
Answer: it can do that, yes. JG 1.29.10
Answer: yes, it is better than the old eye booster cream. Good for fine lines and texture. JG 1.29.10
Answer: I really do not have anything for the hollowness, I will look into the website, we have an eye cream for puffyness and also one for dark circles and the pateints now are using the cell matrix for the eyelid skin itself along with the face, no special eye cream for wrinkles like we did before as the new cell matrix is stronger. JG 1.29.10
Answer: well I use Restylane for the orbital rim but not for the eyelid itself as it can get lumpy. A filler will do something different that a skin excision though. In some cases, if the problem is puffyness only of the lower lid, then the fillers can buy you some time before surgery is done. JG 1.29.10
Answer: I think you will disappointed once the swelling goes down, sorry. JG 1.29.10
Answer: it can also help, it is more of an anti-inflammatory though. None of the three will affect your nose, they are for joint cartilage. JG 1.29.10
Answer: hard to say without examining you, I suggest you see your surgeon for them to help you. JG 1.29.10
Answer: I think the biggest hollywood secret is professional makeup artists that do their makeup along with photoshop alterations on magazine pictures. Not to endorse magazines like the National Enquirer, but they frequently show pictures of stars without make up and they look pretty average. I cannot say whether those women have had anything done to their faces but if one has the time and money, frequent small things like laser peels and fillers and Botox type things always help. JG 1.29.10
Answer: sorry, but I have not had any patients that have used it. JG 1.29.10
Answer: it is best if used when the lower lid is not in its proper position due to aging or injury.Having it done to change the shape of the eye, I feel, is unreliable and difficult at times to get them even and will make the aperture of the eye smaller. It will make them shorter if anything.Best of luck. JG 1.28.10
Answer: it might, yes. I would seek a YAG laser. JG 1.28.10
Answer: no I do not believe so. JG 1.28.10
Answer: 1)yes. 2) impossible to say, maybe 2-5 years. 3) yes. 4) induction of scarring into the dermis. 5) good, maybe 2 years. 6)no. 7) you are incorrect as you are saying it was permanent but now it is less, it lasted because you were younger and as you age the length of time of correction will be less. 8) safe and it thickens the derms. 9)not at the present time. JG 1.28.10
Answer: it should have no long term effects. JG 1.28.10
Answer: the aperture being smaller is what a canthopexy does and the spasms are from the muscles being irritated from the sutures or scar tissue, the spasms should get better with time though. The appearance will likely need a reversal of the canthopexy.JG 1.28.10
Answer: it can but it will not return to the previous appearance. There does not need to be any fat removed at any time. JG 1.28.10
Answer: reported aid is with glucosamine sulfate and chondroiton sulfate supplements. JG 1.28.10
Answer: well, glycolic or alpha hydroxy peels well help some when done in a series, but nothing dramtic or long lasting. JG 1.27.10
Answer: well, what grows is the thickness of the skin, not the cartilage, so in your case, if yoru skin is thin, it should not occur to any significant amount. As you get older the thicker skin, if it develops, would only make you lose some detail in the tip is about all I can think would happen in your case. Best of luck. JG 1.27.10
Answer: actually a common potential complication and pretreatment should be done even in people with no history of cold sores due to the Zoster virus being so broadly in the environment. Safe repeat treatments can be done as long as there is pretreatment and then continued treatment afterwards until the skin has totally healed. JG 1.27.10
Answer: Retin-A first. JG 1.27.10
Answer: it is aproprietary mixture of 5 peptides in a liposomal delivery along with haloxyl, we stopped selling our DMAR as the patients started buying the cell matrix instead and the sales of the DMAE decreased. The cream is applied at least once per day, no more than twice. JG 1.27.10
Answer: it should not affect it but that might dissolve sooner than the new filler and then you might need a touch up down the road. I think injection too superficially can leave the blue color so it needs to be done deeper, at times under the muscle. JG 1.27.10
Answer: I am afraid nothing will last any longer than that and the older you get the less time it will last, sorry. JG 1.27.10
Answer: the products you are using should not cause that, might be happening from excessive Vitamin A intake, whether in vitamin pill form or food products though. It can also be an early sign of hepatitis, might need to get some blood work done to figure it out. JG 1.26.10
Answer: an EMG can be done to see if there is any electrical activity in the nerve. If there is, then the nerve was not cut and it should get better. Also, in some small percentage of patients, removing the implant might help if the probelem is persistent pressure on the nerve from the implant. If the nerve was cut and the ends of the nerve could be found, it could be repaired and in some cases it will grow back. The EMG test could likely give you alot of informtion. I wish you the best. JG 1.26.10
Answer: we offer financing through a credit company for our interested patients, and then they pay the comapny over time. JG 1.26.10
Answer: no problems with repeating the procedure after time has passed. I am not a fan of Thermage, I had a machine and had to contend with so may dissatisfied patients and my disappointment with what it did not do that I sold it. JG 1.26.10
Answer: it can leave you with the same problem, the strongest peel I would suggest would be a beta-hydroxy peel, otherwise Retin-A and hydroquinone. All the ebst. JG 1.26.10
Answer: Welcome back! The only laser I would try is a YAG laser, but the effect will likely be small and you might need a series of them, best of luck. JG 1.26.10
Answer: I do not think the Retin-A will do much as the skin is thicker and less likely to respond compared to facial skin. As to fillers in the hands, it will last only a fraction of the time they do in the face due to the constant motion, sorry. JG 1.25.10
Answer: well, it might be able to be undone if the area is dissected again, any sutures that were placed are cut and the scar tissue released and the forehead pushed back down. If there was no skin or scalp removed, it can work. It is just reversing all the maneuevers that were done the first time. Sorry to hear about the problems. JG 1.25.10
Answer: most of the improvement will be there by 6 months, the last 20-25% will be a year. Massage will not help the depressed area, sorry. JG 1.25.10
Answer: not really, more a matter of time I am afraid. JG 1.25.10
Answer: I would say so, yes. All the best to you too. JG 1.25.10
Answer: well, I feel tha fat injections around the eyes are very iffy and would not suggest it, I think lasers are a better option, a light CO2 laser to help tighten the skin, I am not a believer in chemical peels helping tighten skin though. All the best and thanks for visiting.JG 1.25.10
Answer: might suggest a YAG laser to help them fade some. It will likely fade but any sun exposure will make it come back in time, and don`t forget the sunblock all the time, best of luck. JG 1.25.10
Answer: yes to both. JG 1.25.10
Answer: well, this will get into a matter of religion, because if I assume what he is saying is correct, then Feather Touch will give you 100%, but I believe since I think the Active Fx will likely give you at most 20-30% after 6 months I think the Feeather Touch will give you about 50% after 6 months. JG 1.25.10
Answer: it varies, usually not, but of there is a lot of bleeding at the time of surgery, they are sometiems used. The pain is not bad, easily controlled with pills. JG 1.24.10
Answer: all depends on how much fat there is and if there is loose skin to start off with, the more fat that is removed, potentially the greater the chance for loose skin afterwards. In many cases it is a good option, but not in all, no way for me to tell without seeing you in person though. JG 1.24.10
Answer: it is possible in some cases where the degree of deformity is minimal. Minimal deformities can benefit from minimal procedures, but, if you have more than a minimal problem and you have a minimal procedure, then it might not fix it as much as you need. JG 1.24.10
Answer: I do think in time it will get better, but slowly. Most scar creams will help the raised scars but not the depressed ones, just have to give it time. JG 1.24.10
Answer: red splothces can turn into hyperpigmentation, but it likely is just a deep burn, the brown should have occured by now if it were to happen. I suggest you see a doctor in order to prevent permanent scarring as things should be healed by now with that technology, and report the person to the local medical board or practicing medicine without a license. JG 1.24.10
Answer: that is something called poikiloderma and can be controlled with the use of glycolic acid cleansers and glycolic acid creams, many are over the counter, otherwise you can have her see a dermatologist. JG 1.24.10
Answer: unfortunatley, yes, the lumps from polyacramid will not go away on their with time, they will need surgery. They do not come and go, they stay. Some of the material might have seeped out through the small hole the docotr made and released some of the swelling and pressure. What came out is the material surrounding the filler, the carrier which the granules are floated in so it can be injected, and your body`s white blood cells trying to protect you agianst the material which is foreign to your body. I do not think it has anything to do with yoru teeth. In early phases before the granuloma is too well formed the small punctures and pushing material out might help, but eventually that will no longer work and they will need to be cut out. All the best and sorry you are having all the problems. JG 1.23.10
Answer: between those two, the V-Peel. JG 1.23.10
Answer: I have inejcted Sculptra in those very areas without anything negative happening, blogs are wonderful, but remember, happy patients rarely are on websites posting good things so we get a slanted view of complications and their rate of occurrance, although some do. In most cases, if a granuloma were going to form, it usually does it in the first few months. If it did happen with Sculptra, they do react in a more positive way compared to polyacramid as that permanent material will never go away whereas the polylactic acid in Sculptra does dissolve in time.I think you are out of the woods. I appreciate your post and your visiting and thank you for the kind words. JG 1.22.10
Answer: I am sorry but I have not had any patients use Rapid Lsh so I cannot say. JG 1.22.10
Answer: in time the small clumps congeal into larger ones making them easier to grab and remove surgically, at times there is a small amount of tissue that is removed at the same time that is wrapped around the nodule. What you are having is not an infection, it is the activity of the circular muscles around the lips pushing the nodules together into larger clumps. The MRI will only tell you that there are lumps but not tell you what they are, what they are is the polyacramide granules that he injected and they are surrounded or encased in scar tissue, they are called granulomas. I seriously doubt they would be able to remove it from the nasal cavity, it usually takes an incision directly over the lump, trying to go from the inside might avoid an external scar but will damage more muscle on the way to remove it if they are superficial. I have removed them on many people I am sorry to say, but one thing you need to know is that there is likely polyacramide in areas of your lips that has not congealed yet and even if I remove all that you have in place at present, there could be more lumps that develop over time I am afraid. Wish I had better news for you. JG 1.22.10
Answer: hard for me to say without seeing you, but if the capsule was scored and not removed, there can be weak areas like that where the implant will bulge through. In time they can tighten and become smaller, but that does not always occur. If it does not, Alloderm is certainly an option in that weak area too. Hope all gets better soon, and best of luck. JG 1.22.10
Answer: correct, not a fan. JG 1.22.10
Answer: not sure where you live but that product should not be injected into the area around the mouth or lips and is illegal in the US. I am afraid that you will likely need surgery to remove all of the material, or at least most of it. I am sorry for your troubles. JG 1.22.10
Answer: well, although not normal, it can happen, I think staying in close contact with your dermatologist is very important, they may want to try a Medrol pack to see if they can help the resolution of the swelling. If he is unwillig to see you I suggest you request your records and go see a different dermatologist to get answers to your questions as in this case it is important for someone to see you in person. Best of luck. JG 1.22.10
Answer: probably safe and probably a waste of time and money too. JG 1.21.10
Answer: I have never heard of that happening with the above stated regimen. JG 1.21.10
Answer: reasonable one to use, best of luck. JG 1.21.10
Answer: I really do not have any advice besides just being honest, these issues are much easier to deal with and decide before surgery and explain that not all that one wishes is possible.JG 1.21.10
Answer: yes, in a small percentage of patients, that is all that is required. I doubt it would fix a turkey neck though, it would only fix the bands one can see upon muscle contraction is all, once the turkey is there the skin usually needs to be cut out. JG 1.21.10
Answer: would not impact the size too greatly, I do not use textured implatns under the muscle myself. JG 1.21.10
Answer: hard for me to advise in your scenario, most women, even those with very little breast tissue should have a fairly average size with a 410 cc implant, I will also say that not all people can have breasts as large as they wish due to anatomical limitations that thwir body controls. I think the risks of more surgey are higher capsular contractue rates, displacement of the large impalnt, visible and palpable ripples, but it is your decision to proceed, I cannot help you there. JG 1.21.10
Answer: well I would suggest antibiotics and Retin-A first. JG 1.21.10
Answer: well, terminiology sometimes is confusing and some surgeons like it that way. A platysmaplasty is a procedure where the main intent is to tighten the loose muscles of the neck and in many cases there is also some skin removed. A cevicoplasty is a procedure intended to improve the neck in general, that can include removoing fat and or skin along with tightening neck muscles if required. So, a cervicoplasty can at times include a platysmaplasty, but not the other way around. As to the MACS lift, that is more the for cheek pad elevation, so although the incisions are similar, what is done under the skin is quite different. All the best. JG 1.21.10
Answer: no evidence that it will affect them in any negative way. I suggest the fillers first usually as the slight swelling that can occur with any laser can make the evaluation of the filler placement slightly more difficult. JG 1.21.10
Answer: well, the face will be more red but more but more importantly, if you sweat, the sweat can plug the pores that are still healing. JG 1.21.10
Answer: well, safety is dependent on the energy setting that is used, but it is likely safe. Best of luck. JG 1.21.10
Answer: I am sorry but I have not had any patients that have used it so I cannot comment on it. JG 1.20.10
Answer: I prefer Sculptra. JG 1.20.10
Answer: I think that is different, the degree of skin contamination is small and those areas are normally cleansed with at least alcohol, whereas the other procedures are unable to be cleaned,so go ahead and have the fillers without any antibiotics. I understand what he is saying but there is actually lots of medical evidence that even when having a normal bowel movement, there is intestinal bacteria that get into the blood stream on a small basis. We are exposed to bacteria at all times, what he is referring to is to high risk things where the bacterial load is high. Best of luck with the hip replacement!
Answer: well, in the three muscles where Botox or Dysport are commonly used, the crows feet, the forehead and the glabella, the degree of volume loss, even if there were complete atrophy of the muscle, would be quite small and likely not visible as the muscle are very small, flat, fan-shaped and not bulky. Even if it would, as soon as the paralytic agent wears off when you cease getting the injections, the muscles regain their stimulation and regain their strength too. Those muscles are small enough that they do not need heavy lifting to regain size and strength. JG 1.19.10
Answer: it all depends on what has changed, in many cases it is a smaller procedure than the first, but in some people, a repeat full facelift is needed, no way to tell without seeing you and feeling the tissues. A full facelift should not look unnatural if proper tension and positioning is employed. JG 1.19.10
Answer: it is considered cosmetic and the breast tissue itself usually is cut into to allow the tissue to splay out and then the lift can shape it more effectively. The pressure from the implant also helps push on the tissues to allow them to stretch out and correct the tuberous issue. I wish you the best. JG 1.19.10
Answer: it all depends on how big it is and how deep. In your case it can take a couple of weeks at times. JG 1.19.10
Answer: always possible, also look tt see what other ingredients are in it, like retinols, or hydroxy acids that can also irritate the skin too. I suggest stopping them until you can figure it out. JG 1.19.10
Answer: I think it would be difficult for the filler to shift a piece of cartilage. I think I would give it time for the filler to absorb and then re-evaluate things. I would wait a full year to let things heal and soften before contemplating another surgery. Best of luck. JG 1.19.10
Answer: it would likely be a midfacelift or a cheek lift. JG 1.19.10
Answer: it is common for the scarring to look worse and it does get better and is not permanent, but the VBeam will not help the scarring, just the redness. I am unsure why you developed the discoloration in just one area, but yes, it can happen again if it happened once before. The pale areas should also slowly regain their color too. Hang in there. JG 1.19.10
Answer: on a rare occasion it can clear it all up, but in most cases it will reduce but not totally eliminate it. It is much more effective than IPL though so it might be a good option for you.It is also known to come back in many people with time and aging. JG 1.18.10
Answer: close but Kinerase is better I think. JG 1.18.10
Answer: I will be honest, that technology has been around for a number of years and the claims made and the photos of the cell disruption have been shown to not be accurate. Also, the patient photos they show have, from what I have been told, patients that were placed on diet and exercise programs too along with the Zerona, I would not spend my money on the machine or a treatment either. JG 1.18.10
Answer: yes, any antibiotics or skin cream for acne can do that but not always, it is called purging and what it does is not form new break outs, but actually takes break out pimples that were deep to come to the surface and break through sooner than they would have the other way. JG 1.18.10
Answer: you might break out whne you stop, yes, the reason to take it is to control the acne break outs in the hope that what is causing it will decrease or resolve itself along with the fact that break outs cause scars, so if you reduce the break outs, you reduce potential scarring. JG 1.18.10
Answer: I am not a believer in swinging for the fences with lasers for such issues as it is rarely a one tiem thing, I suggest a middle of the road setting to see how things go and then decide from there. If you cannot do a series of more than two I would tell you that then the decision to go deep is understandable but no promises on how you will look after one deep session with sensitive skin.JG 1.18.10
Answer: no, different antibiotics have different effects on different people. Might want to add some Retin-A too. JG 1.18.10
Answer: birth control pills will help, but nothing will totally control it. Accutane might but has serious side effects. Maybe using some Retina-A and some topical antibiotics from your dermatologist should help. JG 1.18.10
Answer: sorry, but I have not had any personal experience in its use. JG 1.18.10
Answer: I would do a light CO2 laser, lots of different companies make them though. JG 1.18.10
Answer: well, I would say that more lasers can be used but the energy needs to be turned down, and that will affect how effective it is I am afraid. Chemical peels have some risks too, so you need to start lightly. There is always a chance of a burn, yes. Best of luck. JG 1.18.10
Answer: those indentations usually go away as the selling gets better, have to hang in there for a bit more. JG 1.18.10
Answer: No, it likely will stil go away, all people respond differently in terms of swelling though, no way to predict. JG 1.18.10
Answer: It can stil be used for maintenece even after one year, as if you stop it, some of the improvement will return due to the progressive aging process. There ae no long term studies of its long term use though. Any cream used will reach a level of maximum improvement and then the best it will do is to maintain things. Aging is progresive, sorry. JG 1.18.10
Answer: it can be a direct injury, or even an infection, such as a tooth abcess or a urinary tract infection that can seed the capsule formation. I know Singulair has been reported in the medical literature, but to be honest, the results are only so-so and you need to get blood tests as there are some toxic effects from that medication. Best of luck. JG 1.18.10
Answer: I would start with a Retin-A and hydroquinone regimen and then possible a light laser peel, but the lines will progress with aging. JG 1.18.10
Answer: yes, but understand that the degree of improvement levels off, after 12 months, it will only maintian, not reduce the fine lines. JG 1.17.10
Answer: if they are superfical lines, then a filler such as Restylane will work, but not if they are deep folds. JG 1.17.10
Answer: it is OK to use them both as long as you wait some time inbetween the applications. JG 1.17.10
Answer: I have, and although it requires different injections for all the trigger points, in most patients, once you figure out where the triggers are, it works quite well. JG 1.16.10
Answer: I do not think thay are linked together. JG 1.16.10
Answer: not always, I think it is an ineffective remedy for acne and has more side efects than antibiotics and Retin-A. JG 1.16.10
Answer: if you can get that, use it, I wish we had it here in the US. JG 1.16.10
Answer: the slant comes from the position of the outer canthus being higher than the medial canthius, so I am afraid there is nothing non-invasive that will accomplish that, it will require surgery and in almost all cases, a canthoplasty.Sorry. JG 1.16.10
Answer: if there is a pleat of skin in front of your ear as you do that, you will need the incision in front also. JG 1.15.10
Answer: difficult as it most likely would leave a pleat of skin in front of the ear that would look funnny. The pulled appearance on the lip is all a matter of how hard and in what direction you pull, that should not persist past a couple of days as the swelling goes down. The jowl needs a vertical lift more than a straight back lift anyway. JG 1.15.10
Answer: that would be an extremely rare problem, only if too large a graft were placed under very thin skin. JG 1.15.10
Answer: that likely will need a graft from what you have told me, hopefully a small one. Best of luck. JG 1.15.10
Answer: I am afriad there is not much that can be done for the stretch marks that remain and as to the tummy tuck incision healing slowly, that happens frequently and does close on its own over time. You might want to ask your plastic surgeon if it is OK to cover it with plastic and tape before getting into the shower to avoid it getting too wet, that might help. I wish you the best and not to worry, all of that will get better soon. JG 1.15.10
Answer: probabaly just use what is in your medicine cabinet, hyaluronic acid topically is not absorbed by the skin and when they do nor say how it is being absorbed except to claim something in quotes that is new, I begin to doubt things. JG 1.15.10
Answer: it might, all depends on if it develops scar tissue, no way to tell except to wait it out. JG 1.15.10
Answer: minimal amount I feel after 2-3 months afterwards with an erbim laser. JG 1.15.10
Answer: a graft at times is placed in order to get better projection and give the tip more definition by stretching the skin, but by doing that, the tip will be larger. JG 1.15.10
Answer: Radiesse to both questions. JG 1.15.10
Answer: not a big deal, if you want it, get the cheaper one. JG 1.15.10
Answer: it should not be, usually an l-shaped caudal septum remnant can be left to avoid the tip from plunging, it can likely be repaired by adding some cartilage support to the tip. If the septal cartilage was removed, then ear cartilage can be used for the grafting procedure. JG 1.14.10
Answer: neither will tighten loose skin but will help with fine lines, the difference is small, but I think the Kinerase is good enough. JG 1.14.10
Answer: I think external ultrasonic tools do not offer much over other methods like microdermabrasions. As to our sunblock, it is sunblock that is non-comedogenic and it allows make up to be applied over it. I am sorry about the problems, if you call the office the ladies will fix the problem with your order and I will speak to my webmaster about the problem. Thanks for alerting me to the problem, and again, we are sorry for any inconvenience.JG 1.14.10
Answer: that happens only if so much is injected into one spot that the nasal angular artery is closed off by the pressure, it should never be injected in a bulk fashion like that, like a bolus, it is meant to be injected in a thin layer over a wide surface in multple layers and crosshatched. JG 1.14.10
Answer: it should not cause facial hair, what was causing the acne is what is causing the facial hair. You cannot do laser hair removal while on Accutane for fear of scarring though. I do not think the spironolactone will help prevent the initial breakouts from Accutane though not much will help that. Sorry. JG 1.14.10
Answer: the look is no different, but Sculptra is the only one of the ones you mention that builds up anything. As to the hyaluronic acid fillers appearing translucent, that occurs only if you inject them too superficially and then you get a Tydall effect. The deeper you inject the less chance of tranlusence and the more opaque. JG 1.13.10
Answer: alternating warm and cold for the next 48 hours, 2-3 times per day will help, all the best. JG 1.13.10
Answer: with a CO2 laser it is not anything to worry about. Best of luck. JG 1.13.10
Answer: I do not think there can be any structural changes that could occur that would influence the ability to hold a filler, although your injector is experienced, a deeper injection can always occur and is the much more likely culprit for it not lasting. It is meant to be injected into the deep layer of the skin, not below and the skin is a very thin piece of tissue, especially as we age, so going a little too deep is actually easy to do, even in experienced hands. I think, if you wanted to, you could go ahead with more injections at any time. JG 1.13.10
Answer: I woudl use a regular CO2 laser, not a dot CO2 with the understanding that, even with that, the effects on the eyes will go away in likely 18 montsh and around the lips in about 24-36 months, sorry. Thanks for the kind words too. JG 1.13.10
Answer: I think all of those will give relatively nice results for the sun damage, but less for the wrinkles, especialy on the upper lip. The upper lids will look better for a bit but will not last too long either, I do think that healing is quick and downtime is minimal, but there is always a trade off or those things. JG 1.13.10
Answer: it can be normal, yes. The palapable edges should get better and as to the air feeling dry or too much, you can use saline nasal spray until it settles down some. JG 1.13.10
Answer: if diluted properly and injected in the correct fashion, negative outcomes should be quite small, there are areas, like the temples where the tissues are very thin and side effects are higher. I also think, that being slow and methodical helps, trying to inject too much at one sitting, for example, more than one or two vials, increases the problems. More vials is OK if injected over larger areas, but since it works as a biological filler and the body has to respond to it, it has to be done slowly. I think, at times, a physician might inject more than needed in order to give the patient a faster response, but that does not always work out in a positive way. I like Sculptra and am pleased with what it does. JG 1.13.10
Answer: most likley it is because not enough of the permanent part of filler is put in, might just need more to compensate for the carrier that dissolves. All the best. JG 1.13.10
Answer: sorry but I do not have that information. JG 1.13.10
Answer: I think I would wait, although there are stem cells reportedly in the newer techniques, it is stil a fat injection that is being done with the hope that the stem cells might enhance the survivability of the injected fat. It is pricey and the end size prediction is not as accurate as an implant. JG 1.13.10
Answer: it can but a mild session will likley not give anyting signficant, maybe just a more even skin color. JG 1.13.10
Answer: it is already being sold again in the U,irritable should not make you more susceptible to lumps though. There are no true allergic reactions to Artefill so injecting it in one place to see is probably not worth it. JG 1.13.10
Answer: I am sorry but any of the remedies pronoted are very short lived at best, things like VelaSmooth or endermologie. Cellulite is not dependent on fat though, best of luck. JG 1.12.10
Answer: could be lots of things, from intestinal slow motility to food allergies,I think he needs to see his doctor soon to establish the cause. JG 1.12.10
Answer: might need to control the acne first and then possibly treat the area with a CO2 laser. JG 1.12.10
Answer: some but not much. JG 1.12.10
Answer: I think it is because they want an immediate response mostly. JG 1.12.10
Answer: there are differences, yes, especially in terms of sterility and since a microdermabrasion can cause skin abrasions and some slight bleeding if they go deep, I think it best in a physician supervised location. JG 1.12.10
Answer: bruising goes away faster than the pinkness, bruising is black and blue and goes away faster. The redness can take time to go away as the blood vessles are irritated and the process involves inflamamtion and a certian degree of heat and that causes the burning, it is not like turning the color setting off on a computer screen, it does not work that way. JG 1.12.10
Answer: I cannot say about the percentage improvement but I will say that the stronger setting has more bruising, but is much more effective, the price one has to pay. I cannot comment on the $700 as that is up to the individual physician. JG 1.12.10
Answer: Vitmain E at this point can make the potential bleeding worse, so no to that. I suggest ice for 48 hours, then switch to warm heating pads, limit acitivity with that ar and see what happens. In most cases the amount of bleeding is quite small and should not cause any problems if indeed you had any bleeding. Best of luck. JG 1.12.10
Answer: I would wait 2-3 weeks fot the Botox and 6 weeks for a filler.JG 1.12.10
Answer: yes, it could be filled in. JG 1.12.10
Answer: Retin-A will not work for deep wrinkles or nasolabial folds, no matter what age, sorry. JG 1.11.10
Answer: I guess it could be, yes. JG 1.11.10
Answer: it should not do that if properly done. JG 1.11.10
Answer: well, certaily there are negatives, since he has taken care of more patients, there are likely more issues, the less experienced one has not treated as many people so the numbers are smaller, but if you are concerned, the younger might be fine, there is no way to tell l00%. I will say taht a younger doctor likely has a different subset of patients, maybe more that are willing to post things in readable places. We were all younge surgeons once, hopefully we will all also be older experienced surgeons too. JG 1.11.10
Answer: well, experience does help I believe. JG 1.11.10
Answer: the Smartlift is just a mini facelift, so it is a smaller procedure than a regular facelift, healing is shorter, as less is done. In many cases, if one has had a facelift before, they only need a mini facelift the next time. I think the only smart thing is what he is charging you, as it is much smaller than a facelift and the price difference is not larger. JG 1.11.10
Answer: they should be blending in by now, make sure you are avoiding sun and also any creams that have any acid compounds that can irritate the skin and aggravate the redness, also, of course, see your doctor to make sure there is nothing else going on that I cannot see. Retin-A can aggravate the redness so I would hold off until that has all faded. It sounds like it was more of a technical issue with a different scanner, compared ot the older procedure. Experience can help though. Best of luck. JG 1.11.10
Answer: yes, it is. Max effect is after 12 months, most people see some improvement after 2 months and then it continues to what you see at 12 months. JG 1.11.10
Answer: if it was deep we ask them to wait three weeks. JG 1.11.10
Answer: difficult to fix, might be scar tissue around a nerve, can try some kenalog injections if they can feel the hard knot of scar tissue. JG 1.11.10
Answer: might need to have a filler put in to allow it to look better until it heals in on its own. JG 1.11.10
Answer: sorry, but no, it only helps really fine lines. JG 1.11.10
Answer: do not think it will do much ot be honest.JG 1.11.10
Answer: well, the amount of fat that it would take to fill in a hollow is quite a bit and fat injection in that area do not hold and survive well. Glad I can help. JG 1.11.10
Answer: Retin-A might help a small amountt but you cannot use it while on Accutnae. Otherwise it is lasers and you need to be off the Accutane for at least 6 months. JG 1.11.10
Answer: in most cases, due to blood flow, arteries restablish their flow over time. No supplements will help though, just time. JG 1.10.10
Answer: can take months, no sun expsoure in the meantime, might need some bleaching cream or a YAG laser too, best of luck. JG 1.10.10
Answer: I stil have some heads that I have been able to but from other doctors, a light CO2 is pretty close to the effect, maybe a little more down time though. JG 1.10.10
Answer: no better or worse than other toners on the market. JG 1.10.10
Answer: well, it can be done, the twitching will likely not change, no better nor worse. JG 1.10.10
Answer: musces do not get loose as we age, the tissues above the muscles sag and the skin sags, but eating, talking and chewing keep the muscles toned, those machines are alot of hype and have littel good effect. They might make you look tighter becasue of the short term swelling is all, but not longer lasting than that. JG 1.10.10
Answer: I might suggest some microdermabrasion or light glycoic acid peels to take the cover off the pores and allow the blackheads to be pushed out, an aethetician can also do extractions for them. Best of luck. JG 1.10.10
Answer: yes, it can be all done at the same, time, you will need help at home for a few days and you will be down for about two weeks afterwards. I think you need to decide on your surgeon to get a fee quote as it varies from surgeon to surgeon quite a bit. JG 1.10.10
Answer: it could be cream and it could be swelling, but I think using corneal shields with that type of laser is important. JG 1.10.10
Answer: nothing that is significantly any better than what has been out there for years. JG 1.10.10
Answer: snake do do, save your duckets. Wish it did though, I would buy one! JG 1.9.10
Answer: I am sorry, but it is hard to say, sounds like burns that are not healing, injecting steroids directly into the streak might help but run the risk of tissue atrophy below the skin. JG 1.9.10
Answer: it can be reshaped to some degree but it is hard to say whether you will see enough of a change to the point you desire. JG 1.9.10
Answer: it is normal and gets better over time as the skin heals and the pores close up. Do not think you will need more resurfacing. JG 1.9.10
Answer: well the hollow can be from losing fat as you age or from the previous eye surgery if they were aggressive in the fat removal, difficult issue to improve. As to the skin, it migth require more skin removal or a laser to improve, sounds more like surgery in your case though. As long as no more fat is removed there should not be any increased hollowness. Best of luck and thanks for the kind wishes. JG 1.9.10
Answer: no, Sculptra is injected deep to fill in lost fat, not directly into the layers of kin like Juvederm. They are used for different things. JG 1.9.10
Answer: depends on whether your skin peeld, if it did not, you can repeat it sooner. JG 1.9.10
Answer: hyaluronic acid. JG 1.9.10
Answer: Artefill for the nasolabial fold is OK but will not be a good choice for filling in the area where the fat was lost on the lower medial cheek. Best of luck. JG 1.9.10
Answer: yes, it is into that area more superficial to the canine fossa where the Sculptra would be inejcted into, in order the blend the upper cheek fat into the depressed area, when I said not into the fold, I meant it needs to be injected above the crease itself, into the area where the tissue has dissolved, Sculptra cannot be used directly into a fold like Restylane would be. Sculptra can be injected into the upper cheek, or into the submalar area too. I still think Sculptra would be my choice for what ails you. JG 1.8.10
Answer: well, seromas can happen, even without prior liposuction,I will say that liposuction does cause some scarring, whether it was an aggressive liposuction or not. If you do have another fluid collection with a pseudobursa, it will not go away on its own. The most definitive method is to have it removed, including the entire bursal sac, to avoid recurrance, if the bursa capsule is left, it will reform. In some cases when they are small, injecting the bursa after suctioning the fluid out is possible at the tiem of the ultrasound. The injection of the sclerosing material is meant to scar it down, but is not as definitive as an excision of the bursal sac. All the best. JG 1.8.10
Answer: maybe a YAG laser. JG 1.8.10
Answer: yes for the brown, no for the pink ones.I usually use a combination of Retin-A 0.1% mixed in an equal amount of 4% hydroquinone so they are reduced by half of the concentration, effectivley then 0.05% and 2%.It can reduce skin sun damage in the surrounding areas so I like to have it applied over larger areas. JG 1.8.10
Answer: you are not having Sculptra into the nasolabil fold, you would be getting injections above it to lift the deflated part up, but it can be and has been FDA approved for nasolabial folds. I do agree that fat is not the most reliable filler, it is more expensive, has more down time too. For what you need I think Perlane and Radiesse are poor choices and are not meant for tissue loss. JG 1.8.10
Answer: copper peptides are a specific type of peptide cream and we use it only after an acute injury, like a laser, otherwise peeptide creams are usually used to slow the aging process of the skin. JG 1.8.10
Answer: sorry, we do not use those in our practice so I cannot recommend one. JG 1.8.10
Answer: if it is going to fade on its own it will do so in about 6 weeks or so, might need some bleaching cream to help it along. No sun exposure at all until it has faded. Welcome to Las Vegas. JG 1.8.10
Answer: when you purse your lips, the skin folds and that is due to thining of the skin and loss of elastic fibers, repetitive pursing will make the wrinkles stay present even at rest. As one ages and the fat below the skin thins out, they are more easily seen. Yes, still fillers I am afraid. JG 1.7.10
Answer: likely very similar, yes, at leat in terms of active ingredients. JG 1.7.10
Answer: you are very welcome. JG 1.7.10
Answer: well, the least expensive option might be to have the other impalnt deflated so they will be even until you can get them fixed with your credit application. Sounds weird but you will be even. JG 1.7.10
Answer: that is correct, the reports are sketchy as to if it was the filler or a blood clot that went to her lungs and caused her death. If a filler was injected into a vein, and in a large quantity, it could happen, but the amount typcially injected into lips for example, would not be large enough to casue death. As to knowing if it is in a blood vessel, the doctor can withdraw on the plunger and see if blood comes into the syringe, if it does, then you are in a blood vessel and should stop. I think the case of the death likely would result in a malpractice issue, if it had been in this country. A blood clot could have been the problem due to the positioning of the patient, the amount of time she was in that position, and especially if she was on oral contraceptives as they increase the blood clot risk. JG 1.7.10
Answer: more likley from the progressive aging, fillers would not increase the vertical wrinkels. Might need to get those injected also. Sorry. JG 1.7.10
Answer: well, the CO2 laser wil leave you red for about three weeks and pink for about 2 months, the eyes are a little bruised for a week or so but look pretty good in a couple of weeks, fees for both the eyes and CO2 laser of the face is going ot be about $9000, I think an in person consultation would be best too see what you would benefit most from. Looking forward to seeing you again. JG 1.7.10
Answer: it can be done, but I would never just treat the wrinkles alone, the surrounding areas also need to be treated to get the wrinkles to soften, lasers do not work like fillers. I suggest doing the entire face. Best of luck. JG 1.7.10
Answer: correct, the amount of fill reduced due to the lidocaine being aborbed. It is not a common practice at all. I am not a fan of Sciton or Thermage, sorry. All the best. JG 1.7.10
Answer: sorry, but I do not think any of those will help.I prefer a light CO2 for the fine wrinkles. JG 1.7.10
Answer: I understood what you meant.JG 1.7.10
Answer: those types of injections will augment bone size and since it is so far away from the fold, and since the fold is not due to a bone issues, I do not think it will correct things any better than before, the fold comes from the pull of the muscles and loss of fat above the muscles, that is why malar fullness needs to be addressed. I will say that most calcium hydroxy injections are done by oral surgeons or plastic surgeons that do cranfacial surgery. All the best. JG 1.7.10
Answer: it is hard to replace what was removed without a trade off I am afraid, you might have to choose one or the other, sorry. JG 1.6.10
Answer: I would start with Retin-a and hydroquinone creams as TCA peels are not as safe on the body as they are on the face, and no sun exposure to the area either. JG 1.6.10
Answer: yes to the ear nose and throat, I agree, a blepharoplasty does not make sense, wish I could tell you what is causing it, might be a small leak through the cheek bone from the sinus causing fluid to come and go between the tissues and the sinus.Best of luck. JG 1.6.10
Answer: likely best to have it cut out, your surgeon can do that easily. JG 1.6.10
Answer: it is up to the surgeon in some sense, but there are many variables that are out of the surgeon`s hands too, like if the fat cells were damaged when harvested, whether the injected fat is injected in small enough parcels to develop new blood supply, whether small enough aliquots of the fat were inejcted to allow it to survive, what plane the fat is injected into, what size cannula is used to harvest and inject the fat. JG 1.6.10
Answer: can take 1-6 weeks, steroid drops in many cases will help too. Best of luck. JG 1.6.10
Answer: sorry, but no, there is not. JG 1.6.10
Answer: fat loss that involves loss of facial fat will make the sagging worse as the cheeks become deflated, like letting the air out of a balloon. I think you should get to the weight you desire and then I would be happy to see you in consultation. Depending on what has happened, it might be surgery but it might be a filler such as Sculptra to regain the fullness, all depends. I am not a fan of ribbon lifts as if the ribbon cracks, one side will sag differently than the other. Best of luck with the weight loss. JG 1.5.10
Answer: the bad rays will still get through, the UVB especially, which are the bad ones for cancer. The UVA rays will not penetrate into the house though. JG 1.5.10
Answer: I feel it will do so only while still swollen unless you use a deep peel like phenol. JG 1.5.10
Answer: crease of the chin for less risk of infection from the saliva and intraoral bacteria. JG 1.5.10
Answer: my choice for what you are describing is Sculptra, injected in the standard fashion over the area of fat loss, not above it. JG 1.5.10
Answer: without seeing you in person it is hard for me to say, but maybe a laser to tighten the skin in that area might help. I must say, although I have had patients post here about similar problems, I have never seen it in person happen. Not sure why or for what reason it occurred. JG 1.5.10
Answer: I prefer Sculptra for that. JG 1.5.10
Answer: until the brown spots are better, can likely be repeated every 6 weeks or so. JG 1.5.10
Answer: call your surgeon and see them, in the meantime get started on some oral antibiotics. JG 1.4.10
Answer: while you are swollen, I think the TCA will help, and as the swelling goes away, the wrinkles come back. In most cases the wrinkles start to return after about 6 weeks if you do a peel deep enough for it to take 14 days to heal. I think a 15% TCA would be an absolute waste of time for swelling and wrinkles though.Repeated chemical peels could put you at risk to develop brown spots as part of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Thanks for the kind words and best of luck. JG 1.4.10
Answer: well, if you felt your prior experience was worth it, I certainly would not try to dissuade you from what you want to do. I guess it is a matter of expectation, I might expect more from the treatments is all. I have used erbium lasers and I was disappointed with what I saw and the patients I treated were likewise disappointed. Having said that, I believe that patient expectations also come into play, for example I think when people see a plastic surgeon they expect dramatic results whereas when they see a dermatologist they are content wiht less dramatic changes, just my opinion. JG 1.4.10
Answer: you are very welcome. JG 1.4.10
Answer: as much as I like Suzanne Sommers and her beliefs about hormones, I disagree with her about FaceMaster, save your money, the muslces in your face get plenty of activity to maintian tone from talking, chewing and all other facial moveemnts. Sorry. JG 1.4.10
Answer: I do no feel chemcial peels stimulate much collagen at all and would not have a chemical peel for that purpose. sorry. JG 1.4.10
Answer: don`t think too much of it and it likely will not do too much either, no matter what age. Sorry. JG 1.4.10
Answer: personally I think you will be disappointed with how long the improvements last after a pixelated laser, keep the other creams going though. JG 1.4.10
Answer: might suggest fat injections to build the area up, or Sculptra. Best of luck. JG 1.4.10
Answer: it just got re-released and for narrow indications like nasolabial folds or depressed scars I think it is good, not much godd though for locations where Restyalne or Juvederm are used though. JG 1.3.10
Answer: if it sounds too good to be true, run away. JG 1.3.10
Answer: less effective. JG 1.3.10
Answer: the purple usually fades in 2-6 weeks, pinkness can take a couple of months in some people, should not be permanent. JG 1.3.10
Answer: as long as you wait a couple of days it should be fine. JG 1.3.10
Answer: no, it will get better still, have to give it time, use warm moist heat and massage. JG 1.3.10
Answer: maybe 2-6 weeks. JG 1.3.10
Answer: yup. JG 1.3.10
Answer: do not think you should be alarmed, and I guess you can see if a cosmetic surgeon here will see you, but many will not as you had surgery elsewhere. Best of luck. JG 1.3.10
Answer: Omega 3 fish oils, alpha lipoic acid, N-Acetyl cysteine, and Co-enzyme Q 10 to start, all oral, topically I suggest my cell peptide matrix cream on my shopping cart or Retin-A. JG 1.3.10
Answer: I use Restylane in the tear trough all the time, best of luck. JG 1.3.10
Answer: wait ten minutes. Might suggest a microdermabrasion a few days before for a helathy glow. All the best to you. JG 1.2.10
Answer: I think repositioning the fat lower will be difficult and the submalar implants will likely be a better choice. They could both be done at the same time. Sutures hold them in the new position until they scar into place. JG 1.2.10
Answer: the paranasal is on the side of the nose and the premaxillary is below the nose. Sounds like you desire a premaxiallary one. The smile will look different as the muscles of the upper lip will be repositioned. Fees vary from surgeon to surgeon though. JG 1.2.10
Answer: might be reasonable if it is a mild issue. JG 1.2.10
Answer: it can take 4-6 months for the final results from that to be evident. Not much to do except wait. All the best for the New Year. Glad I have been of assistance. JG 1.2.10
Answer: Topical therapy is not always effective, and may be worth a try. These include Nizoral or Selsun shampoos, applied for about 10 minutes and washed off in the shower. This is repeated once a week. Other topical treatments include 50% propylene glycol in water applied twice daily with a gauze pad for 3 weeks, then twice a week or Lamisil solution, sprayed on the skin surface, for 14 days then weekly or for just a few spots apply Loprox or Nizoral cream twice a day.Oral treatments are the most effective. The two used are Nizoral and Sporonox. One will need to wait a week or two for clearing, and recurrences are to be expected. A last resort is Accutane pills. These are general guidelines and a dermatologist can help decide the best treatment. JG 1.2.10
Answer: Retin-A. JG 1.2.10
Answer: I think oral arnica, 4 pellets 4 times per day is what we use. It can also be used as a gel topically, can also use bromelain to help reduce the bruising. JG 1.2.10
Answer: thin skin is a relative term, it is decriptive only, Retin-A thins the epidermis, which is good, but helps build the dermis, which is also good. JG 1.2.10
Answer: it is a good cleasner, good make up removal, not much else though. The smoothness is the even removal of the already dead skin that would fall off on its own in time. Certainly clean skin allows better penetration of any cream though. JG 1.2.10
Answer: I would NEVER inject Botox into the lids as if it works to weaken the muscle, the whites of your eyes will show and your appearance will change and your eyes mugh feel dry. JG 1.2.10
Answer: they usually do not grow but if the short period of time has transpired as you say, they can possibly be broken down with some saline injections. The temples are areas where they happen a little more often than others as the tissues there are very thin. There are no personal issues that make one person more prone to granules, no. Best of luck and thanks for the kind words. JG 1.2.10
Answer: as long as the injections are done right on the bone, the risks are small and the results, when done by an experienced injector, are quite good. No nerve damage should occur. I think the granules are a good option. Best of luck. JG 1.2.10
Answer: Life Extension foundation products are good. JG 1.2.10
Answer: if there are flourescent lights, yes. JG 1.2.10
Answer: could try a YAG laser with eyeshields in place, but they are hard to remove. JG 1.2.10
Answer: you would need cartilage grafts placed in order to possibly achieve that and it would remove the elevation of th tip, the nostril got bigger likely because of the degree of tip elevation. JG 1.2.10
Answer: yes, you can as to the Retin-A and Vitamin C, the moisturizer will nor help but can be applied over the others if you wait a few monutes first. JG 1.2.10
Answer: although frequenlty used in the cheeks, I wil say that nether product is appoved or recommended for use there as it is well known they do not last long as they were not developed and desigend for that use. As to it moving, it is highly unlikely the product has moved that much, but the swelling the filler causes can move. Movement of the product is not affected by skin laxity. As to lumps, any filler, including the ones you have used carry risks of lumps. I think trying to fill in empty cheeks with hyaluronic fillers that we at present have in the US is a poor choice and waste of money, sorry. JG 1.2.10
Answer: it can be normal, some people have veins that are more easily seen in areas of thin skin like the back of the kness, not much that can be done for them though. JG 1.2.10
Answer: that can happen from the temporary swelling that can occur, it usually goes down in a few days. Keeping your head elevated, minimizing salt intake and ice all help. Best of luck. JG 12.31.09
Answer: I will loook into it, thank you for letting me know. If the problems persist and you would like to order something, please feel free to call us and the ladies in the office can help you with all of that. Happy New Year. JG 12.31.09
Answer: I suggest trying to use squalene as amoisturizer, sold at health food stores, the milia risk should be small. Best of luck. Happy New Year. JG 12.31.09
Answer: If it was going to get worse it would have bene doing so, if it has been getting better, I would expect it to improve further. If you had scabbing after the laser, the chances of scarrring are higher, if there was no scabbing, then the chances of scarring are much less. At this point you can use some copper peptide creams to assist in the healing, or aloe and give it some more time, luckily the skin is very resilient. Hang in there. JG 12.30.09
Answer: scarring would not involve a color change alone in most cases, especially to the purple color. If a burn occurred, it could be pink or red but would also have the appearance of a texture change. Pupura, in and of itself, is just a red purplish discoloration of the skin and involves color and some swelling, but I have never seen it persist for much past one month, especially with a YAG laser, I have seen it last a bit longer when using a VBeam laser though. All the best. JG 12.30.09
Answer: it will, but it will take at least 2 vials in most patients, and in some more than that. JG 12.30.09
Answer: neither one of those products will cause new scars to form, but I do suggest a 3 month break every year to avoid the constant irritation. JG 12.30.09
Answer: I would wait a bit to see if it really works. JG 12.30.09
Answer: do not know about any of them, sorry. Happy New Year. JG 12.30.09
Answer: should be able to fix the asymmetry, yes. The recovery before being out in public is 10-14 days, all the best. Happy New Year. JG 12.30.09
Answer: might want to see an aesthetician or dermatologist, the reason for the pore is there is still some oil stuck down deep in the pore and the pore cannot close. Microdermabrasion might help too. JG 12.29.09
Answer: nothing permanent, but microdermabrasion and IPL lasers help, along with Retin-A. JG 12.29.09
Answer: using tape at night is helpful in some cases, massage can help right after surgery, but massaging too hard can keep the skin mobile and that allows swelling to persist, so massage at this point, if done, has to be very mild and not aggressive. JG 12.29.09
Answer: should be OK to do. Happy New Year to you too. JG 12.29.09
Answer: I would save your money. JG 12.29.09
Answer: we also at times use a copper peptide cream during the epithelialization phase. Not much you can do for the redness, it will fade with time and for the dryness we use squalene oil. JG 12.29.09
Answer: although they claim they do, I have been unimpressed with the photos of results of both issues you mention. I also fail to find any scientifice evidence that SmartLipo causes any more skin shrinkage over other forms of liposuction.Sorry. JG 12.29.09
Answer: I would never use it, it will likely thin the skin and make the skin look more red. I do not think it will do much good or bad to the dryness. Happy New Year. JG 12.28.09
Answer: granulomas take at least 6 weeks to form and are hard, essentially scar tissue, not soft and squishy, yours sounds more like a collection of fluid or blood. I think at this point I would continue the massage and maybe apply some warm mpoist heat to draw more blood supply to the area to assist in its absorbing. I personally would not be concerned at this point and would just keep up with what we have discussed. All the best to you too and Happy New Year. JG 12.28.09
Answer: nope. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I do mine in that location for the reason you describe, the incisions there can be incised in a manner to make them look very good. In the tragus, I do it post tragus also to avoid a visible scar there as the skin is then and the color of the scar can show. All the best for the New Year. JG 12.28.09
Answer: we use Reviatlash here in our office with nice results. JG 12.28.09
Answer: No, I do not mean it does not work but I feel that the patient must be chosen carefully becasue Sculptra is not a typical filler, it will fill in the area below the skin and in some cases can make the mouth area look fuller, even too full when using it around the nasolabial fold and especially the marionette lines. I do use it, in selected cases, for the nasolabial folds but not for the marionette lines. Best of luck. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I do not see how it would last that long to be honest, the bruising from a YAG is minimal, although that skin is quite thin. It does not sound like scarring though, I might suggest giving it some more time and see how it does, I would not worry about it at this point. JG 12.28.09
Answer: in most cases 2-3 weeks. JG 12.28.09
Answer: it will yes, that type of swelling is not uncommon but if it comes and goes, as in your case, eventually it will stay away. The more times an incision is opened, the longer it takes to fade, I suggest using a little Mederma or ScarGuard, both OTC, to help it fade. All the best. JG 12.28.09
Answer: could be just you have healthy skin that has not sagged, also having them under the muscle helps keep them from sagging in most people. JG 12.28.09
Answer: normal, nothing to worry about. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I think you need to give it a good 10-12 months I am afraid. Best of luck. JG 12.28.09
Answer: at this point the only thing I suggest is a microdermabrasion, best of luck. JG 12.28.09
Answer: no, it is because they went to different depths depending on what you needed, that is not unusual. JG 12.28.09
Answer: well, hard to say without seeing you but it might be a CO2 totally ablative laser that you ae looking for, best of luck. JG 12.28.09
Answer: usually the whole thing. JG 12.28.09
Answer: no way to tell what is causing it, it can happen, might need to be cut out to avoid it coming back. JG 12.28.09
Answer: the doctor can inject hyaluronidase to get the filler to dissolve, but it will not last much time in that area anyway. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I do not think it is due to the Botox in your case so I cannot say, if it were from the Botox it will last a few months, until the Botox starts to wear off. JG 12.28.09
Answer: after four hours it will not shift. JG 12.28.09
Answer: no, it will not. JG 12.28.09
Answer: minimal effect I fear. Best to you also. JG 12.28.09
Answer: A weekend facelift is a made up name for a mini facilft or cheek lift and some neck liposuction, it is a much smaller procedure than a regular facelift and will not last as long. Prices vary from surgeon to surgeon so no way for me to tell. JG 12.28.09
Answer: should not if there are screws in place. JG 12.28.09
Answer: could be a small hematoma or a lymph node. I think seeing your surgeon is a good idea when you can. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I always suggest a 2-3 month break yearly to avoid the constant irritation which is not good. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I have not seen that occur in my patients. The product in hair conditioners would not stay on the skin long enough for that to occur, sorry. I think it was coincidental in your case. JG 12.28.09
Answer: Vitamin C and Retin-A maybe.JG 12.28.09
Answer: I thank you for the kind words and hope all the best for the New Year to you and yours. JG 12.28.09
Answer: in most cases I would place it under the muslce, but you might need a breast lift along with the enlargement, possibly using different sizes to get them more balanced. JG 12.28.09
Answer: liklyl because of the collapsed nasal valve potentially getting worse with the kenalog. JG 12.28.09
Answer: it is normal and there really is not much you can do, it is a matter of the tissues healing, some doctors try kenalog but it helps only for short periods of time. It will end eventually though. It comes and gose because the tissues have not totally reattached so when there is motion on the tip, new swelling appears, just like when you sprain an ankle and then start moving too soon. Hang in there. Merry Christmas and a Properous New Year. JG 12.24.09
Answer: likely not, it will have to dissolve for it to get better.Sorry. Merry Christmas and a Properous New Year. JG 12.24.09
Answer: if the skin is prepared at the time before the chemical peel with a degreasing and cleanser, which is the usual case, it is quite rare. Additionally, as one is doing the peel, one thing we look for is a color change while the chemical is being applied so if in fact the acid did not penetrate. You should see it not penetrate while you are doing it. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.23.09
Answer: well, if it is just a percutaneous suture technique it is worse, if it is part of the traditional neck lift, it migth last a little longer. Thre is no evidence that human growth hormone injections enhance fat transfer survival. Stem cells with fat injection do not replace a facelift, they do different things, the facelift lifts the tissue that are there and the injection enlarge the fullness and only by secondary effect lift the skin. There are new machines sold that claim to have stem cells in the supernatant but although it is used in other countries around the globe, it is legally not able to be claimed here in the US. The survival should be better if there are truly stem cells present though, but that is a big if as it depends on the tehcnology used to harvest and process the fat. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.22.09
Answer: well, repeat excision and then following about 6 weeks later doing some 5FU and kenalog injections is possible. Best of luck. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.22.09
Answer: I usually use Restylane in that area to liftteeh skin and allow the light to reflect better and reduce the dark circles. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.22.09
Answer: stop the Rogaine and see what happens over the next couple of months. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.22.09
Answer: lasers, chemical peels and Retin-A can be used. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.22.09
Answer: tough area to improve, I normally use Retin-A and in some cases, for a relatively short term improvement will do a TCA peel. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.22.09
Answer: I think it is not likely in females, unless you already had facial hair to begin with. JG 12.21.0
Answer: I would strongly advise against using it. If there are problems, which is likely not a rare issue, it would take surgery to remove the material. Sorry. Thank you for the kind words too. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: I honestly have neve seen beard growing when Rogaine 2% was applied to the scalp, I guess it could happen if the minoxidil was absorbed at a higher rate than normal and it should go away in a few weeks after stopping the Rogaine. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: it is part of the normal healing and the ointments needed will make it worse for a little, but will get better.Crepey skin is just fine lines with less elasticity, like cigarette paper. As the skin heals all of that will get better. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: no, that would not show up for weeks, it is just the skin that will flake off that is still attached, all normal. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: it is called a surgical excision scar revision. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Propserous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: Eucerin is fine and the only thing that helps the redness is time I am afriad. Hang in there. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: It has been approved for injections in the face, the injection into the hands is what is considered an off-label use and it can lead to lumps, so to avoid that it needs to be injected in a very dilute concentration and over a large dispersion area to reduce but not eliminate the risk. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: I like CO2 laser, just not a fan of the fractional ones as I feel the degree of improvement is not great. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: I like Sculptra but it takes a few months for it to build up so some patients get impatient. Sculptra is usually injected deeply so lumps should be a rare problem. The pattern from the laser will fade in time, got to hang in there. Thank you for the kind words too. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: could try a YAG laser. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: it certainly could have aggravated what was likely going to happen anyway. Might use an IPL or a YAG laser to get rid of them.Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: that should get better in time. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: I think the tightening is done and the spots will likely require Retin-A and hydroquinone to fade. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: I use Sculptra for the cheek filling and I prefer an open forehead lift in order to have multiple points of fixation to give a longer lasting effect. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: no need to change if all is going well. I think adding a good sunblock is essential too. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: they will work less well as it is more difficult to get new blood flow into the tissues inplanted rather than injected. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: on rare occasiosn only one can be done. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: I think it can help the pigmentation, but no matter what you do to make it less, it will always come back in time. In sensitive skin the treatments cannot be as strong so they are less effective too. I never do glycolic acid peels over 30% becasue the safety factor goes away and the risks are too high. I think verly low concentrations of fading creams like hydroquinone or kojic acid are about all you will likely be able to tolerate I would say. Answer: should be OK. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: you can have both placed, the infection risks come from the cutting and not the implant, inert means they are not alive so they will not cause the infection or rejection themselves. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: to the best of my knowledge it should be OK, but I am not sure there are any studies to document their compatability. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: 6-8 months. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09

Answer: no studies to show make up would cause lung cancer at this time. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: 6-8 weeks is about the average. It is common for it to take more than one shot though. I usually repeat them after 6 weeks. As to filling in, that relates to normal surrounding tissue fillig in and not the keloid scar. All the best and thanks for the kind words. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.19.09
Answer: well, the stronger the laser the greater the collagen formation, but it will still be less compared to when you were younger, the older you are the less the ability of your skin to create new collagen, no matter what technique is used. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.19.09
Answer: they are working on it but there are some obstacles that still need to be worked out, at present it is unreliable. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.19.09
Answer: get it checked ot make sure but it is likely nothing to worry about. You might want to contact the local univeristy hospital and ask for the plastic surgery department to have it removed. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.19.09
Answer: I would imagine it might help the brows too, I have not had anyone try it though. The manufacturer of Revitalash does not include dry eye in its list. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Prosperous New Year. JG 12.18.09
Answer: might be, I suggest using an open rhinoplasty technique so all the cartilage components can be seen and made sure to make the correction you desire. All the best. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Prosperous New Year. JG 12.18.09
Answer: most likely you will have to repeat it. I do not perform fat injections to that goove of the eye area due to the unreliable results. Sorry. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.18.09

Answer: a canthopexy or plasty is more invasive and difficult than a blepahroplasty and getting the two eyes to be perfectly symmetrical can be difficult. I would imagine the price range would be about $4000. Merry Christmas, Happpy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.18.09
Answer: I am sorry but there is no implant that will eliminate that problem. That issue is much higher in breast cancer people due to less normal tisue between the skin and the implant, you might need to get an autologous breast reconstruction with your own tissues. All the best. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.18.09

Answer: might fade some brown spots but not much to improve the scars besides the fading of the brown. JG 12.17.09
Answer: most likely a spasm of the muscle or the implant folded and then unfolded and the knot or crease smoothed out, it happens, especially in the crease area where the implant has no muscle covering it. JG 12.17.09
Answer: I would not do a filler at this point. I think you need to give things time to settle down, and by that I mean months and not weeks. JG 12.17.09
Answer: 1 syringe in most cases is 1cc, correct, and it would take that, at least for both cheeks, and maybe more. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: might need more Botox is all. If it is nerve irritation it should get better slowly over time. As to my skin, I use my Cell Matrix peptide cream, but I have oily skin and that helps.Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: hard to say as it depends on how much loss of fat you have in the cheeks but in most cases for someone who has lost tissue it will be 3-5 syringes.Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: no, they are inert and cannot interact. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: likely no improvement for the railroad tracks with topcial agents, it might be a matter of a plastic surgeon cutting the scars out entirely and closing them with sutures below the skin to avoid the recurrence of the problem. After ten years the topcial things to blend the discoloration will probably not work, might get some improvement though from an IPL or a YAg laser though. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: it is always proper to express your desires and to be honest, the amount injected is OK for the tear trough but it would not be anywhere near enough to fill a cheek area for roundedness. I think assuming that there is good communication is never good, take an eyeliner pencil and draw the area of yor cheek you want filled when you go in. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: with the use of sunblock, Retin-A and Hydroquinone it might take 6-12 weeks, all depends on how high the energy was on the laser. I guess you are now seeing that the risks those docs did not like for the full CO2 are still there for the one they felt was safer. I would also never have done a laser resurfacing on your neck or chest due to what you are seeing and the high potential of scarring. I have never seen any correlation between PIH and effectivenss I am afraid. Just do the above thinsg and in the vast majority of the time it will get better, gotta hang in there for a bit though. Thank you for the kind words too. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: none to my knowledge. IPL works best on dark hair in light skinned people. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: it is safe and most likely will not affect the filler in any way. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: I am not a fan of high profile implants for augmentations as I feel they look too projected, I would go with the size you mention and use a Moderate Plus projection implant. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: numbness is an indirect measure of swelling but I would estimate there will likely be small degrees of swelling there for up to one year. As to open rhinoplasties and swelling, it is common for them to stay swollen for longer than closed procedures and the more rhinoplasties you have doen the longer the swelling takes to resolve due to scar tissue. Cartilage is certainly one of the components of the size of the tip but the thickness of the skin is also involved, you migth just have so much scar tissue that even if they removed all of the cartilage, your tip might not have the size and definition you desire. Give it some more time. All the best. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: well, fillers are commonly done after a facelift, I think they might think your degree of improvement may not be as dramtic and they might not want to undertake it for you. The area in front of your ear is the preauricular not buccal area. Fillers over the chin will likely not impact the lips at all. I think the degree of new collagen you will get with the APL is likely not worth your money. All the best, thanks for the kind words too. JG 12.17.09
Answer: well, desiring less down time is understandable but realize that means lesser results, especially in view of the fact that the older we get, the less the degree of improvement gets as the amount of new collagen the body can make form the laser or chemcial peel is less robust. I think it is fine to do, might get some brown spot reduction and maybe a texture improvement but I would not expect much wrinkle reduction with that or the Obagi Blue Peel. Best of luck. JG 12.16.09
Answer: it is usually best to do the subcision first, but I think 6 weeks after the laser is OK. JG 12.16.09
Answer: sorry about that, I have a call in to our webmaster to correct it as it was there a week ago, in the meantime you can call the office and they can help you out over the phone, again I apologize. JG 12.16.09
Answer: 6 weeks should be enough. JG 12.16.09
Answer: we added some more to it and now it is called Cell Matrix peptide.Sorry. JG 12.16.09
Answer: I think the thought process is correct. The implant might be saved if there is no infection and if it does not pop through the skin. I think having it repaired as soon is possible is the best idea. All the best. JG 12.16.09
Answer: depends on the cause but in many cases it can be improved, although total symmetry is difficult. It is one of help the one that protrudes more in most cases. JG 12.12.09

Answer: not alot of either usually. Not too painful at all. JG 12.12.09
Answer: no benefit from massaging with lasers, best of luck. JG 12.10.09

Answer: some doctors will store in under sterile conditions for a bit and others will destroy it. JG 12.10.09
Answer: the pressure is only from the swelling and excessive bleeding, not from the skin removal itself. I think the scenario the consultant is discussing is highly unusual and I would not pose my decision on her anecdotal story or sales pitch. JG 12.10.09
Answer: I have never heard of people dying from blood presure elevation after an eyelid lift but it can certainly cause bleeding and pressure on the eye.The risk of blod presure elevation is the same after any surgery, the greater the pain, the greater the chance for blood pressure elevation. JG 12.10.09
Answer: lasers are the easiest and least scarring potential. JG 12.10.09
Answer: hard to say what you need without seeing your lids in motion, weakening the muscles can help at times, but you will see lots of changes for the fisrt 6 weeks when you have that much done at once, give it some more time. JG 12.10.09
Answer: The Alexandrite laser systems include: GentleLASE, Apogee, and EpiTouch Plus. JG 12.10.09
Answer: possible but rare, there might be some area of the septum that has lost its mucosal covering allowing the underlying cartilage to be exposed and to dry out, so saline spray every hour while awake might help, even some vaseline applied to the septum with a Q-tip can help too. Not much more I can offer, sorry. JG 12.10.09
Answer: I think if you are having no visible stabilization of the aging appearace of the skin, I would stop the Retin-A. The effects of Retin-A improvement tops out at 12 months, and continued use is only maintaining that, at best. I will say that no cream works on 100% of people and I am a believer in taking a 2-3 month break from all retinoids once per year. In your case I might suggest some DMAE cream, there are certainly other options besides Retin-A, most are non-prescription, I have some on my shopping cart. Thank you for the kind words and I wish you all the best. JG 12.10.09
Answer: some type of filler, like Restylane would be my first suggestion. JG 12.10.09
Answer: I am not a believer, I think it is more likley going to create scar tissue than new normal collagen. I have never seen any evidence in any medial journal to its documentable effectiveness, sorry. JG 12.10.09
Answer: I personally do not feel it is worth it because the skin is not loose due to muscle weakness, it is from excess skin and loss of facial fat, not loss of muscle mass. JG 12.10.09
Answer: the scar can be seen when your eyes are cloased, and if there is a large amount of skin removed that extends into the crows feet area, that scar might be seen but typically, when your eyes are open, there is no scar able to be seen on the eyelid itself. In most cases after two weeks, the make up applied will cover the scars on the eyelid and in the crows feet area. It is not a painful surgery and most patients require pain medication only at night to help them sleep for a few days.JG 12.9.09
Answer: stop the Clobetasol for fear of thinning the skin and see a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon to make sure all is going well. They heal from the deep surface up. I wish you the best. JG 12.9.09
Answer: it might, yes, but I have no laser that will reliably dissolve the filler any faster than waiting, sorry. JG 12.9.09
Answer: I would wait a full two weeks before entertaining that concern. JG 12.9.09
Answer: there are heated eyelash curlers that might work better. JG 12.9.09
Answer: well, I have to say that in the time I have injected hyaluronidase, I have never seen it cause a depression. Now, if the filler was injected and the hyaluronidase was not injected into the filler but into the surrounding area, that would appear like a depression as the filler has not been dissolved. As to building the area up I might suggest injecting Sculptra which works slowly to build up your own collagen and is used for fat loss in the face. JG 12.9.09
Answer: works pretty well for the red and there can be some slight skin lightening if you are sun damaged. JG 12.9.09
Answer: well, since some fat has also dissolved over the years and that is not replaced with the surgery, they will likely look a little different. The skin sags from sun damage, gentics and fat loss. JG 12.9.09
Answer: sorry, but I have none, sorry. JG 12.9.09
Answer: I think it is possible to reepat the CO2 laser there, all the best. JG 12.9.09
Answer: excellent surgeon, and I have known him a very long time. You are in good hands. Please give him my regards when you go. JG 12.9.09
Answer: Nodules where only hyaluronic acid fillers were used should go away in time, but Radiesse lumops can be much more difficult and in rare cases need to be cut out. During a facelift the nodules might be seen but if they are truly in the skin and not below it that might not. I seriously doubt you have had enough fillers placed that your face would deflate when they dissolve. Pictures of you when you were younger are always helpful and as to the fat of the upper lid, it is removed during the surgery, the eyes will look differently after the surgery but usually look better. JG 12.9.09
Answer: squalene oil or emu oil. JG 12.8.09
Answer: possibly kenalog injections and maybe a YAG laser to settle the redness down is about all. JG 12.8.09
Answer: I do not think either one will help scars on the arms. JG 12.7.09
Answer: I will be honest, I have never seen that happen after a CO2 laser and do not see how the skin resurfacing would cause that. It can certainly happen when the air is dry though. JG 12.7.09
Answer: sorry, but I did not see the question, if it is still numb after one year the loss of sensation might be permanent, there are always small nerves cut during surgery and spots of numbness are not unusual, but they usually shrink over time in size. At this point in time there is likely little that can be done to correct the issue I am afraid. JG 12.7.09
Answer: it is mostly used after acute injuries such as burns, it is not something I suggest long term because it can plug pores, if you have not had that problem though, there is no reason to think it would strat plugging pores now if it has not done so in the past. The absorption of Aquaphor is minimal, it is not meant to be used as a daily moisturizer. JG 12.7.09
Answer: yes, still working, your skin gets used it it and stops peeling though. JG 12.7.09
Answer: no way to know for sure, none has been reported. JG 12.7.09
Answer: can try Cetaphil also, a little lighter. JG 12.7.09
Answer: It can be swollen and bruised for a number of days, I would suggest some warm moist heat and some massage to get it to go down some. Final results are suually seen after a couple of weeks or so. JG 12.7.09
Answer: I would not spend my money on it. Sorry. JG 12.7.09
Answer: an Obagi blue peel is a 20% TCA peel, I do not condone any TCA peels done at home, no matter what the concentration for fear of causing skin burns. JG 12.7.09
Answer: essentially the same and that is how the medication works to improve texture, by exfoliating your skin, typically it gets less over 4-6 weeks, if it does not then a lower concentration is needed. JG 12.7.09
Answer: well, not normal and although numbness can happen, the eyelid closing problem is not normal, sounds like there was some type of muscular nerve damage or too much skin being removed. The purpose of injecting the areas with Botox before the surgery is to get the muscle to be weaker so it tends to stay where you put it after lifting and the muscle do not work to pull the brow back down until it has healed. I do not routinely do it, but some surgeons feel it is a good idea. The drooping of the eyelid after Botox can happen and will wear off though, although if the eyelid sagging is due to the surgery or skin removal, that will not wear off and might need something totally different. JG 12.7.09
Answer: I think it is a waste of money. JG 12.7.09
Answer: yes, normal and it might take another 3-5 days to go away. JG 12.6.09
Answer: not to any visible amount that it will look the way it did before the hair loss. JG 12.6.09
Answer: the hair removal laser will work the best on dark hair in light skinned people. I prefer Alexandrite lasers for hair removal, there are a few different manufacturers of them. JG 12.6.09
Answer: it is essentially the same, not sold in the US, just Europe and there are no teas or vitamins that will plump your face, sorry. JG 12.6.09
Answer: the massage will help both lumps that are felt and then also the small amounts of the injected material, no injection is ever 100% smooth as it depends on the pressure applied to the plunger. Swelling, that you might not perceive either, will also be helped by massage just like it would anywehre else on the body. JG 12/6/09
Answer: no reason to think the implant is ruptured but the treatment with the oral antibiotic probably controlled it but did not eradicate it. It might be a matter of longer term antibiotics or finding a suture that can be removed that has caused the infection to recur. Your surgeon needs to see you to determine what is the cause. If the infection cannot be controlled with simple measures, then yes, the implant might need to be removed for a period of time. Usually after 6 months of infection free treatment, the implant can be reintroduced. It might require a short period of time with a tissue expander if the skin tried to shrink up, but in most cases it should be able to go just about to the previous appearance if all goes well. I wish you the best. JG 12.5.09
Answer: I would massage it and not consider the hyaluronidase for at least 10-14 days after the injection. I think it should go down some within that amount of time. Massaging it now is not too late to be effective. Perlane will take longer to dissolve but the massage is just as effective in smoothing small lumps out. It might take a bit more hyaluronidase to dissolve it though. Best of luck. JG 12.5.09
Answer: Might suggest Dr Glenn Jelks in New Yor City or Dr McCord in Atlanta. All the best and sorry to hear about the troubles. JG 12.5.09
Answer: it can be,especailly if they get a chin implant placed to enhace their jawline more. Thanks for the kind words too. JG 12.5.09
Answer: possible, yes, but very very rare. There ae many precautions that can be taken to prevent a blood clot and that dimishes the risk sizable, not sure if they were used for Miss Argentina.JG 12.5.09
Answer: sounds prety cheap. One more thing about Botox. It has come out that the education that injectors were given since the beginning of Botox release was incorrect. The bottle is to be used for a single patient. That means that a bottle should not be shared between multiple patients. The company that makes Botox has known about this but has never issued an alert to doctors or patients. The risk is that of the bottle becoming contaminated and passing a communicable disease like HIV or hepatitis from one patient to another. There are no known reports of disease transmission in the use of Botox, but it has not been looked at yet in order to determine that issue. For that reason I strongly urge you to demand that a new bottle be used when you are treated and then observe the injector destroy the remainder of the bottle. If that is not done I urge you to contact the local board of health for the violation. Ask to look at the box it comes in and you will see the single patient, single use wording. JG 12.5.09
Answer: I would avoid the Retin-A if possible for fear of aggravating the broken blood vessels. JG 12.4.09
Answer: a phenol chemical peel. JG 12.4.09
Answer: deep aggressive laser treatments can at times. The strongest would be a totally ablative CO2 laser. JG 12.4.09
Answer: might need to increase the Retin-A to 0.1%. If that does not work, then an IPL or a YAG laser or chemical peel might help and then continue with the crease afterwards, best of luck. JG 12.4.09
Answer: not dangerous, no. Without seeing you it is difficult to say whether the minimal incison technique is possible in your case, pictures might help though, but I wil say that it is a small fraction of the population that can get away with it. If it is done in people that need to whole brachioplasty done, it will leave the arm looking deformed. Please feel free to send the pictures directly to me at drgarcia@lvcosmeticsurgery.com. Please have the pictures taken front and back, arms out at 90 degrees from your torso, parralel to the floor, with the foreams bent up toward the ceiling, kind of like an Amrican Indian saying HOW. I wil get back to you after I review the photos for you. JG 12.4.09
Answer: either a CO2 laser, or surgery. JG 12.4.09
Answer: I think you will see a sizeable change for at elast another 4 weeks and then it will continue for an additional 4 months, albeit slower. The broken caplliaries usually also go away, they have always been there, but after surgery they get dilated to absorb the fluid and swelling and as that resolves, they shrink back down. Usually we allow our patients to wear contacts after 2-3 weeks, but give it all some more time, it will get better. JG 12.4.09
Answer: it wil take almsot a week for the swelling to go down. JG 12.4.09
Answer: OK to do for the first few days. JG 12.4.09
Answer: I would not suggest it, no. JG 12.4.09
Answer: in most case, eventually they do go away. It is rare that they need to be cut out. JG 12.4.09
Answer: save your money. JG 12.3.09
Answer: all normal and the red bumps are where the needle went in, yes. Hang in there and it will get better. JG 12.3.09
Answer: it can take 10-14 days to work, have to be patient. JG 12.3.09
Answer: thee exact mechanism of action of azelaic acid is not known. The following in vitro data are available, but their clinical significance is unknown. Azelaic acid has been shown to possess antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The antimicrobial action may be attributable to inhibition of microbial cellular protein synthesis. A normalization of keratinization leading to an anticomedonal effect of azelaic acid may also contribute to its clinical activity. Electron microscopic and immunohistochemical evaluation of skin biopsies from human subjects treated with Azelex® Cream demonstrated a reduction in the thickness of the stratum corneum, a reduction in number and size of keratohyalin granules, and a reduction in the amount and distribution of filaggrin (a protein component of keratohyalin) in epidermal layers. This is suggestive of the ability to decrease microcomedo formation. JG 12.3.09
Answer: in the short term it can cause more oil as it tends to dry the skin and the skin will revolt and try to moisten itself, but eventually that all gets better. Any cream can potentially plug pores so they almost all say that as a risk issue. Having said that, without knowing what you were prescribed the cream for, there can be other factors involved, like mild Rosacea for instance. JG 12.3.09
Answer: as it dissolves it tends to get softer and smaller. I agree that sticking with the firm areas in using the Vitrase is wise. Best of luck. JG 12.3.09
Answer: I am sory bvut it is nearly impossible to tell as it all depends on the individual`s skin. I would guesstimate that it would be about 10 days or so. JG 12.3.09
Answer: I normally suggest every 4-6 weeks in the summer and a little less in the winter. All the best. JG 12.3.09
Answer: if the same amount of fat is removed with the same size cannulas, yes. That is part of the unfair claims, they show patients that have a lot less fat remved so the results are different when compared to aggressive liposuction cases done with other techniques. Best of luck. JG 12.3.09
Answer: I think it can wait for after the repositioning of the muscle if you have not worked them out before. Best of luck. JG 12.3.09
Answer: I think the sagging will be minimal most likley. It might take 6 months for the tissues tt stabilize. Indentations are not common if the tissues over it are not too thin, so in your case it is likely not a large risk. Screwing the implants inot place initially will not change anything for the removal. I do not think buccal fat removal will affect cheek sagging as it is below the cheek mound. Probably the one with the most cheek implant experience is Dr Ed Torino in Thousand Oaks, Ca. Best of luck. JG 12.3.09
Answer: they put that in the precautions because any cream can potentially do that, it happens to a small amount of patietns, the major cause for the plugged pores is the skin`s own oil production and not the topical cream. I think it will be a matter of trial and error for you I am afraid. JG 12.2.09
Answer: impossible to say but fat injections require larger needles and yield more swelling too. JG 12.2.09
Answer: oops, sorry, Vinegar. As to typing fast, luckily, yes, I do. JG 12.2.09
Answer: it is from the ointments causing the pores to plug, not uncommon and does not continue after the skin is healed. I suggest a teaspoon in 2 cups of water and soaking a cloth on your face with that solution and they will open up. In most cases, as the skin heals, all the pimples go away, even with nothing being done. Best of luck. JG 12.2.09
Answer: well, the finishing off is great, but likely is not permanent. I think going aggressive, if you can, is best. The burnt or scarring potential is extremely low. JG 12.2.09
Answer: it can do that at the begining, I suggest continuing its use. It can make skin oily because it dries the skin and your skin tries to fight the dryness. Any topical agent for acne can in the short run make skin more oily but the majority of the time it gets better and less oily with time. JG 12.2.09
Answer: well, it might help the acne, but then you likely need a second form of birth control, the topical agents like Retin-A are effective in controlling acne but do cause temporary skin irritation that in most cases, after 6 weeks, gets better. JG 12.2.09
Answer: well, it might last forever, there is no guarantee and it does not all survive in most cases and frequently needs to be repeated a few times. JG 12.2.09
Answer: pretty similar. JG 12.2.09
Answer: at equal depths it is equal. I feel a traditional totally ablative CO2 laser generates more collagen than a phenol peel though. JG 12.2.09
Answer: I have seen no difference between Restylane and Juvederm when treated with Vitrase, but it is common to have to do it more than once if large volumes were injected. The Vitrase is essentially gone in less than 24 hours, as well as its effects, so it can be reinjected in a couple of days. Best of luck. JG 12.2.09
Answer: IPL or a YAG and microdermabrasion, along with complete sun avoidance, use of Retin-A and hydroquinones also. All the best. JG 12.2.09
Answer: there is absolutley no scientific article published in a non-biased journalthat back their claims of superior skin shrinking. The loose skin or cellulite appearance is more likely due to the amount of fat removed and the quality of the skin. If they had taken out less fat years ago, you likely would have had a smoother result, my preferecnce is an ultrasonic assited liposuction and I also stress that the results, especially in places like arms have to be downplayed as that skin never shrinks as well as other areas. Best of luck. JG 12.2.09
Answer: I have done hundreds of phenol peels over the years and they are very effective, just does not sound as sexy as a laser. The recovery, if they go to similar depths, is the same, I cannot predict the downtime without knowing how deep they plan on going but figure 7-14 days before makeup is allowed. Best of luck. JG 12.2.09
Answer: VBeam is more effective but has a little higher risk profile, especially in darker skinned people. I would start with the YAG, and remenber, they will all come back in time. JG 12.2.09
Answer: essentially, yes. JG 12.2.09
Answer: the aging effects and sun damage. JG 12.2.09
Answer: anything that removes the top layers of skin, wether chemical or laser has that potential, especially if not treated with hydroquinone and sunblock before and after. JG 12.2.09
Answer: save your money. JG 12.2.09
Answer: it can be used but I feel it is not worth it. JG 12.2.09
Answer: I think the Obagi system will help with the pigment issues, yes. I think Fraxel and SlimLipo are overrated, I do not think the Fraxel will do anything for stretch marks or scars. I would stick with a good surgeon and ultrasonic assisted liposuction, best of luck. JG 12.2.09
Answer: our natioanl societies along with the manufacturers of the materials we use are lobbying congress in Washington, this idea was tried in New Jersey a few years ago and the state, rather than making money lost over $3 for every $1 they collected in the tax and the law was overturned. I strongly suggest that if you are opposed to the tax that you contact your state Senator and Congressmen/women and tell them to vote no on the issue.JG 12.1.09
Answer: as to shrinking back down, it all depends on how long they have been in and your skin elasticity, I cannot say 100% that you will shrink back down to your previous appearance though. JG 12.1.09
Answer: correct, more likely an intravenous injection of the filler that went to her lungs. JG 12.1.09
Answer: very unlikley, with the number of injections already done, it would have happened already, the deal with the buttocks injections was the material and the size of needle used with potential injection into a vein, highly likely on the face. JG 12.1.09
Answer: there are still many questions about the use of fat for breast enlargement as there is the potential for obscuring the detection of breast cancer secondary to the calcifications that can occur, although it is being done, I think it is still in the very early stages of acceptance by the medical community. I have looked at it for other areas of fat injections but am not planning on using it for breasts at the present time. JG 12.1.09
Answer: nothing new in the pipeline for release just yet, sorry. Hair tranplants are effective and downtime is about 10-14 days. JG 12.1.09
Answer: the Bio-restorative cream for what ails you. JG 12.1.09
Answer: good option for hanging skin, so-so at best for cellulite as cellulite is a problem in the skin itself, not due to the laxity. I think getting down to your target weight is paramount prior to the body lift. It is a big surgery but can yield big changes. All the best. JG 12.1.09
Answer: well I think the Juvederm will work but I think it will likely last only a few weeks. I personally would use Perlane between those two as I would be injecting deeper and then the risk of lumps is low and th ePerlane will likely alst longer than the Juvederm. Best of luck. JG 12.1.09
Answer: redness will likely not get better with oral or topical steroids, the skin has essentially been burned and it needs to heal, it will take time, cold compresses and avoiding spicy foods should help, but it is mostly a time issue. I have never seen that type pf redness become permanent but in totally ablative cases I have seen the redness last for 6 weeks or more and then the pinkness might last for 4-6 months. 6 weeks is when I see patients turn the corner with regular CO2 laser resurfacing. I would hold off one the hydroquinone until a little more healed as it will irritate the skin and cause delay in the resolution fo the redness, just stick with the sunblock. Might want to try Neocutis products, they have helped me on many occasions with such issues. Hang in there, thank you for the kind words and I wish you the best. JG 12.1.09
Answer: for losss of fat I think Sculptra is a good option and it has been used in the hands as an off-label use. JG 12.1.09
Answer: most of the time it is due from changes from a previous rhinoplasty where cartilage was reduced and the deformity then shows up. I do not think Retin-A will correct a V deformity of the nose as it is not a skin problem. It is a partial collapse of the internal nasal structures but it does not mean it will all collapse. JG 12.1.09
Answer: well, I am not a believer in the claims of better skin tightening with SmartLipo, I think if you had regular liposuction with the same amount taken off, the results would be the same. Best of luck. JG 12.1.09
Answer: skin elasticity or its lack will not affect the length of time a filler will last, but it might take more filler to correct a problem. I do not think skin tightening via laser resurfacing will make the filler last any longer, sorry. JG 12.1.09
Answer: genetic predisposition and then the progressive aging process stretching the tissues between the eyelid muscles and the cheek pad, allowing a fluid accumulation in the area inbetween. JG 11.30.09
Answer: I think the quicker healing time has never been proven or published in a medical journal, it is all a marketing ploy to get people to choose that over a traditional anesthetic. In many case, in tolerant patients, it can be done, but the problems arise when you get to an area that is not adequately numbed and you cannot perform the liposuction to the desired degree. I will also say that the process of numbing the area with long needles and injecting large amounts of fluid is not always as easy as they promote or claim. I do not use tumescent local anesthesia for liposuction unless it is a very samll area for touch ups only. Best of luck. JG 11.30.09
Answer: It is commmon for a TCA peel to have about a one week down time, yes. As to numbing creams or shots, it depends greatly on the depth or strength, we sometimes just use a topical anesthetic cream and then clean it off before the peel is done. It is not terribly painful though. The after effects and healing are much milder than an erbium laser, less redness and less crusting, more like a severe sunburn. Best of luck. JG 11.30.09
Answer: well, if you get an element of capsular contracure, that can prevent bottoming out, it happens when the tissues on the lower pole of the breast stretch and let the implant and breast tissue drop too low but the nipple and areola stay where they should. JG 11.30.09
Answer: I do it all the time so just seek an experienced doctor do the injections. The amount needed can vary, from 0.4 to 1.0 cc. JG 11.30.09
Answer: the inner upper eyelid, right where the fold of the upper eye is. Off the shelf fillers like Restylane can be used too, yes. JG 11.30.09
Answer: I am not a big fan of people doing chemcial peels on themselves, I think you should see someone at a doctor`s office or a medispa to be sure everything is done properly. JG 11.30.09
Answer: might benefit from some undermining of the skin to release it from the underlying tissues or some fat injections to smooth it out. I cannot say whether it is worth it without seeing you in person, sorry. JG 11.30.09
Answer: it only helps swelling, it does nothing to the cartilage. If it does not help you might need a revision that occurs with closed rhinoplasties as the visualization is less than an open procedure. JG 11.30.09
Answer: sorry, does not work. JG 11.30.09
Answer: usually weeks, the older one is the longer it takes. JG 11.30.09
Answer: it all depends on how much skin needs to be removed, it is rare that the incision stops at the lash line, in most cases it goes some distance into a crows foot line, more so if a cheek implant is being placed. JG 11.30.09
Answer: should be enough, small chance of bruising but in ten days should be gone. JG 11.
Answer: yes, Restylane can be used short term. JG 11.
Answer: a chemical peel will give you very short lived correction, about the same as a filler, and a laser, if done deeply will give you more time, but nothing really long term I am afraid. JG 11.30.09
Answer: neither one. 11.30.09
Answer: no, it is just the vertebrae are longer or taller. 11.30.09
Answer: only for recent swelling, sorry. 11.30.09
Answer: usually where there is thin skin between the middle and lower third of the nose, what it would take to fix varies, it could be merely injections of a filler and it could also involve a revision rhinoplasty, impossible to tell without seeing you in person. JG 11.29.09
Answer: it almost always heals unevenly. The red stirpes are not always hyperpigmentation, that is usually brown. I would use sunblock and see your doctor to make sure nothing like hydroquinone is needed in addition. Hang in there. JG 11.29.09
Answer: the natural hyaluronidase in your tissues typically recovers from the injection in a relatively short period of time. JG 11.29.09
Answer: in all the years of using hyaluronidase I have never seen nor heard of it happening permanently. JG 11.29.09
Answer: worth a try, or get a prescription antihistamine like hydroxyzine. JG 11.29.09
Answer: it is localized swelling between the eyelid muscles and the cheek muscles and creams do not help. JG 11.29.09
Answer: I cannot say that a series of fractional lasers will ever equal a totally ablative CO2. I think the totlaly ablative is far superior. JG 11.29.09
Answer: I prefer a totally ablative CO2 laser. JG 11.29.09
Answer: well, there is always a risk, it can be minimized but never totally removed. There are times where the nerve is stretched and not cut and that can make the senation lessen for a period of time. I would never estimate the sensation to be lost for a full year though, some people just take time to settle in and heal. The risks of nipple sensation alteration are always higher with a breast lift than a breast augmentation, not sure why she said that. I would say to give it some time is all for now. JG 11.29.09
Answer: Oil of Olay, Cetaphil are good OTC. JG 11.29.09
Answer: although your skin is pale, it still has active melanin, so if you apply bleaching creams, it will lighten that skin also, unless you had vitiligo or were albino. Might be easier to use a YAG laser on the individual spots to avoid the pale skin. Prescription 4% hydroquinone is a good place to start. You can stop applying it once faded, but the spots will eventually come back, there is nothing permanent. JG 11.29.09
Answer: well, if you look at what the fractional laser does, it treats only a percentage of the skin, so there is no way that a fractional laser will match the long term results of a totally ablative CO2 laser. I will grant you the down time is much less with a fractional laser, but like all else in life, for less you get less. IPL works for red and brown spots but not as strong as a traditional laser. Might want to try a YAG laser for the spots. Best of luck. JG 11.29.09
Answer: you can wax it off and it should fall out when the Rogaine is stopped. JG 11.28.09
Answer: there have been studies done at Washington Univesity in St Louis where the technology has been examined and published in medical journals and the claims of fat cell disruption have been disproven.JG 11.28.09
Answer: if you are already using the Retin-A ther is no need to put anything on top with anti aging properties. JG 11.28.09
Answer: sounds like you are describing a festoon, it can be very difficult if no impossible to remove it. JG 11.28.09
Answer: well, although peopel that place eye lash extensions say it does not cause harm, I have seen enough women lose their lashes that I feel that there can be damage, if the hair follicle of the lashes is injured, the lash will not grow back. JG 11.28.09
Answer: will be in touch Monday. JG 11.28.09
Answer: the last surgery you had with the palate graft takes a long time to heal. If you desire you can send some photos to drgarcia@lvcosmeticsurgery.com and I will get back to you upon my return from seeing my family for Thanksgiving. JG 11.27.09
Answer: as the skin stretches the amount of skin is larger than it was so the breast size looks smaller as it is not as well supported. I seriously doubt you lost breast tissue in that time wihtout a large weight fluctuation. JG 11.27.09
Answer: my preference is still Restylane. Looking to see you and seeing what needs to be done. JG 11.27.09
Answer: while in the irritation phase yes, but that should get better, might need to decrease the concentration until you can tolerate it better. That is the trade off for the positive effects. I think Strivectin is not worth the money, personally. JG 11.27.09
Answer: all agents that work by chemical exfoliation will have the same effect. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. JG 11.27.09
Answer: all normal, may want to go to every other night until you skin gets accustomed to it. JG 11.27.09
Answer: in that amount of time it is more likely the skin has stretched and the increased looseness of the skin makes them look smaller. If scar tissue forms that can make them look smaller but they would then also feel firm or hard. JG 11.27.09
Answer: all sounds about right. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner as I was with family for dinner. JG 11.27.09
Answer: no personal experience with that product. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner as I was with family for dinner. JG 11.27.09
Answer: well, at present the fat injection enlargment is totally reliable and the degreel of enlargement limited, silicone will feel a bit more natural versus saline though. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner as I was with family for dinner. JG 11.27.09
Answer: slightly less fullness up top most likely. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner as I was with family for dinner. JG 11.27.09
Answer: yes, they fade for a little while but you likely will need more sessions in the future and the laser does not hold them off forever. Retin-A will make the broken blood vessles worse due to the irritation and the purpura is normal with that type of laser. IPL treatments are not as harsh but not as effective for inbetween times.Blender and snblock are OK now. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner as I was with family for dinner. JG 11.27.09
Answer: the bleeding is normal as some of the clotted blood will soften and come out. It will all get better, might want to ask for some steroid drops to help with the swelling too. Sorry I did get back to you sooner but I was with family for the holiday. JG 11.27.09
Answer: well, you can sometimes get complete paralysis of the muslce, but in some patients, no mater how much you inject, you still have motion. It is common for some patients to require alot more Botox or Dysport to weaken a muscle. As to the statemnet about Dysport, the units are differnt but the cost is the same, so she is incorrect there. As to the Latisse, it is a loss leader for her as if you like it, you will need continued use of the product, just like all other eye lash enhancers. The bottles of Botox come only in 50 and 100 unit vials, so although they might use less, they need to throw the rest away or they are using it incorrectly on another patient in order to save money. JG 11.26.0
Answer: well, anytime a needle is used, there is a very small risk of scar tissue, with the hyaluronic acid filler, since they dissolve totally, there is little chance of scar tissue, but the others like Radiesse can casue long term scar tissue is a very small number of cases. If you get a hematoma, or a blood clot, that can also cause a small amount of scar tissue too. Overall I think it is essentially an insignificant thing, although if you are going to have a problem, thin tissues liek the lip are the most prone. The scar tissue will feel hard to the touch and when the injector inserts the needle, they can frequently feel it as the needle goes through the scar tissue area. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. JG 11.26.09
Answer: it is more of a septoplasty and turbinate modification that you need, rather than arhinoplasty, which generally refers to a cosmetic enhancement of the nose. JG 11.25.09
Answer: yes, I have, it is a good forceful cleanser, but not much different than a facial scrub sponge, it is just that it has a timer so you know how long you have cleansed for. I wish you the best for the Thanksgiving Day too. JG 11.25.09
Answer: as to the filler I would use Restylane over fat as fat is meant for deeper filling, not for wrinkles really. There are operations where the muscles of the glabella can be cut and that will help the dynamic wrinkles but not the wrinkles seen at rest. It can also leave your eyebrows a little wider apart in some cases. Best of luck. JG 11.25.09
Answer: Christine, thank you for the kind words of encouragement, I am glad I have helped and all the best for the Thanksgiving Day celebration to you and yours. JG 11.25.09
Answer: the only thing would be to have the skin in excess cut out, I do not feel that the skin tightening lasers out there are safe nor effective, sorry. JG 11.25.09
Answer: might need a little more filler in a more superficial plane to correct the problem, but not all creases can be eliminated completely, best of luck. JG 11.25.09
Answer: OK as long as you wait at least ten minutes after the tretinoin before applying the jojoba. Tretinoin is drying and the penetration is not enhanced by the jojoba. JG 11.25.09
Answer: thank you and the same to you and yours. JG 11.25.09
Answer: thank you for the words of encouragement, all the questions posted here teach me mcuh more than I am afraid I teach you all, and please accept my best wished for a Happy Thanksgiving. JG 11.25.09
Answer: yes, it is just that the irritation from the Retin-A allowed the microderm to go deeper and get more exfoliation. You can use some copper peptide creams or aloe if you wish, but it will heal on its own in time. Best of luck and Happy Thanksgiving. JG 11.24.09
Answer: I really think that an in person consultation is best, pictures give the surgeon an idea but for implants, measurements usually are done best in person, all the best. JG 11.24.09
Answer: thanks for the kind words and your visits, and I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. JG 11.25.09
Answer: sorry, I am not a believer. JG 11.24.09
Answer: well, fillers will last a few months and in olive complected skin, lasers can be risky in terms of pigmentation problems, may want to see someone for possible fillers and in addition Dysport or Botox. JG 11.24.09
Answer: well, without seeing a person face to face and having a complete history, there are going to be limitations on any advice that can be given, if you are disappointed with respsonses, the solution is actually simple, don`t came back to this site and seek your answers elsewhere. The fact of the matter is that in many cases, the advice is repetitive because the recommendation are the same. JG 11.24.09
Answer: probably, but no way to tell 100%. JG 11.24.09
Answer: well, assuming that by chest he meant breast diameter, I think one shoudl always stay at the diamter or less, if you go past that, it will show on the edges or give a double bubble. Also, most women`s breasts are wider than they are tall, the limiting dimension I find is the distance from the nipple to the crease of the breast, doubling that give me the maximum diameter more commonly than the horizontal width. I almost never use high profile implants for augmentations as I feel they look very artificial after they are placed. JG 11.24.09
Answer: well, it is not uncommon for a surgeon to try to mitigate the potential risk of the medical malpractice issue. Nerve injury during a genioplasty is a known risk and having it happen is not de facto malpractice. Most likely that risk was enumerated in your consents signed before the surgery. Although getting some of the money back seems like a good idea, I am not sure what can be done to correct the nerve problem though. Might be improved if the bones are realigned and the compression is relieved, but in many cases, if too much time has transpired, the chances of the nerve regaining function are not great. Signing the release prevents you from filing suit agianst him though, so if it is your decision to pursue a malpractice claim against him, then you should not sign the waiver. I cannot predict how easy or difficult it would be to file the suit and win though, as it is a known risk of the operation, sorry. JG 11.24.09
Answer: it sounds like it could have been a deeper penetration with a resultant burn and scarring. I am unabel to tell you without seeing and feeling your skin whether the proposed procedure would be beneficial though. JG 11.24.09
Answer: it can take 10-14 days, your doctor could try giving you some oral steroids to help too, we use them prophylactically on our deep lasers. JG 11.23.09
Answer: It might, and I repeat, might help soften scar tissue but if a secondary rhinoplasty is needed, the Kenalog will not replace the surgery. Having said that, there are limitations to the tip refinement possible due to thicker skin and scar tissue, so one`s desires cannot always be met I am afraid. JG 11.23.09
Answer: I would suggest stopping the Elocon as it will not help the redenss, and might make it worse, just give it time and let your body heal itself, use a good moisturizer and also complete sunblock to help the redness fade. JG 11.23.09
Answer: I would recommend it but expect about 18-24 months if done as a totally ablative CO2 and less if fractional. Recovery will be about 10-14 days before make up will hide it. JG 11.23.09
Answer: not uncommon, but most of the time they are temporary. All facelifts can have lumps. JG 11.23.09
Answer: the degree of migration is minimal. Ultra will typically last longer but it stil responds to the hyaluronidase. I think trying more Vitrase is certainly an option, best of luck. JG 11.23.09
Answer: The longer lasting Restylane has not been approved yet and I do not have any open spots for Restylane this week but please call the office as my nurse injector might have. Sorry. JG 11.23.09
Answer: after 4-6 weeks should be OK. All the best. JG 11.22.09
Answer: I figured. JG 11.22.09
Answer: sounds like a low dose of the Vitrase. If it was real Juvederm, it will go away in a couple of months though. JG 11.22.09
Answer: maybe 2-4 months, not much more as it is not meant to be injected into that area as it is meant for more superficial filling. JG 11.22.09
Answer: all it does is make it hurt less, it does not impact the filler, but if you are having pain and make the injector stop due to the pain, you might not get as much filler as you need. JG 11.22.09
Answer: that might be hard, I doubt the sutures placed to hold the tissues in a higher location are still there so they cannot be cut and the tension released. It is likely now held by scar tissue and that is risky to cut out in that area due to the nerves. JG 11.22.09
Answer: no rebound swelling but if injected too large in amount and too close to the skin, it can cause skin atrophy and color changes, might be best to just leave it alone and let it get better on its own. JG 11.22.09
Answer: sounds about right and you might need a filler too, yes. JG 11.22.09
Answer: it is just blood trapped underneath the superfical layer of the eye, it is a frequent side effects, is temporary and goes away on its own with time. The technical name for it is chemosis. It looks scary but will be OK. Cold compresses and keeping yoru head elevated is all you need to do. Best of luck. JG 11.22.09
Answer: I think although it is rough, there is no damage being done to your skin with that examination, best of luck. JG 11.22.09
Answer: well, it does work, just not as well or as quickly. It is difficult to say how long it would take, but I will say that the longer the spots have been there, the longer it takes to get better, and it will not remove all of the spots and is not permanent, no matter what technique or product is used. JG 11.21.09
Answer: we no longer offer spa type services in our office, so I never use it any longer. We normally start with Retin-A and if the patient desires we refer them out for some microdermabrasion. JG 11.21.09
Answer: yes, very common, normal, and goes down slowly once the cold goes away. JG 11.21.09
Answer: In general it is safe, I do not think it will last that long but is quick and few side effects. Worth a try. JG 11.21.09
Answer: common for a few days after that injection due to swelling and stretching, it should settle down in a week or two, but it depends greatly how much was injected and exactly where it was placed. I do not think I would consider the hyaluronidase yet, just ice it and give it some time, it should get better. Best of luck. JG 11.21.09
Answer: I think what you are doing is fine, nothing more is likely needed.Second degree burns come in two depths supericial and deep, the deep one can cause scarring and the scarring potential on the neck is higher than on the face due to lesser healing capabilites of that skin. I think he wants to see you frequently so that if it does start to scar he can inject it with steroids to avoid a hypertrophic scar. If you do not go in, then he may reflect in your chart that you did not follow up and that he could not help you if you did not come in. You will need to make up your own mind on thtat one. Once healed you can use ScarGuard or Mederma to reduce the scarring and aid healing. All the best. JG 11.21.09
Answer: they have ingredients that cause bloating and inflammation. JG 11.21.09
Answer: if there is still residual filler, it will work, yes. In that area it takes 2-6 months for it to dissolve, it varies from patient to patient. The inconsistency is not the filler, it is the injector, different planes or locations of placement lead to those issues, but they are temporary. I think Retin-A or Renova will likely help the texture and is essentially what the Obagi system is. A granuloma is a hard firm knot that is made mostly of scar tissue, it is rare with hyaluronic acid fillers. Even if you had a granuloma, it would not cause texture differences, that usually comes from the intradermal injection of the filler distorting the skin itself, hang in there. JG 11.19.09
Answer: I think a couple of months should not make a large difference without something else going on. You might want to look at some recent photos before the injections to compare to the present condition as a way to objectively compare things. JG 11.19.09
Answer: well, you could but that would involve a larger surgery to remove all of them and it might not be a problem for you in the future. JG 11.19.09
Answer: no personal use of the product, but I believe it has stopped being sold due to poor sales and no significant difference from all the other fillers already on the market. JG 11.19.09
Answer: the fat is injected deeper. JG 11.20.09
Answer: they assist in the healing after an acute injury.I have nto found them to be benficial unless there is an acute injury like a burn or a laser, chemicla peel, not for routine daily use I feel. Sounds like I would go with a series of IPL first to treat the telangiectasias and dialted pores, the CO2 will agggravate those two issues. The downtime you describe for the CO2 is about right, yes. I agree, the derms and plastic surgoens seem to go for the haute couture stuff instead of the true classics that are tried and true. This is not fashion though, effective treatments do not change with the seasons. Best of luck. JG 11.19.09
Answer: I have used Sculptra for over 4 years and we mix it 48 hours before its use. I am sorry but I cannot refer you to any docs in GA or TN. Due to potential legal issues, and some doctors wanting to know why I referred a patient to someone else and not them, I think you are best to go to this website and look for a plastic surgeon in the area you desire. I wish you all the best. JG 11.20.09 http://www.surgery.org/public/findasurgeon.php.
Answer: pure Omega 3 without he Omega 6 is much better.JG 11.20.09
Answer: in the vast majority of cases, it does take about one week. In most cases the white spots are rare, and do get better with time if they occur, they are more easily seen during exercise only because the surrounding skin is more red from the increased blood flow and the color difference increases. I do think you are reading about the exceptions, yes. There is many times more down time and more altered appearance for a greater degree of improvement down the road. Hang in there. JG 11.19.09
Answer: I would do a totally ablative C02 laser for maximum effect or a Rhytec Portrait for a lesser effect. A CO2 laser, totally ablative can also be done for lighter cases. I am not a fan of ReFirme. JG 11.19.09
Answer: I find fillers very disappointing for acne scarring in general and the laser I typically use is a totally ablataive CO2 resurfacing laser. JG 11.19.09
Answer: sounds good. JG 11.19.09
Answer: I think it is best to take a true Vitamin D3 oral supplement on its own.GNC or Nature`s Health are good. JG 11.19.09
Answer: better skin tightening by comparison but will not help shrink the pores and it will be harder now due to the previous dermabrasion as the skin has some additional scarring from that. Sorry. JG 11.19.09
Answer: you need to take Vitamin D3 along with the fish oils, there is not enough in them to give you what you need. As to the Omega 3 versus the cod liver oil, part of the aging process is due to inflammation. Slowing the aging process involves limiting inflammation, and cod liver oil has Omega 6 and 9 oils that increase inflammation. So with cod liver oil you get some good and some bad, and with the Omega 3`s you get none of the bad. Answer: it could be used, yes, on a daily basis as a cleanser only. JG 11.19.09
Answer: it is OK to use and should not affect the Sculptra in any way. Best of luck. JG 11.19.09
Answer: could try Radiesse or Artefill injections, they should last longer. JG 11.19.09
Answer: all you have to do is look at old photos where you had candid shots done, where you were not posing or smiling for the camera. Most people think their eyebrows were higher than they really were in earlier years. A browlift can be done right at the hairline, leaving a light scar where the forehead meets the hairline, but if you pull your hair back it can at times be seen. JG 11.18.09
Answer: likely none if you have sensitive skin. JG 11.18.09
Answer: my personal opinion is that it will dramatically reduce the excess bulge in your wallet, making you feel lighter immediately. JG 11.18.09
Answer: removing the waxy layer of skin and helping to keep pores clean and smaller. JG 11.18.09
Answer: slightly. JG 11.18.09
Answer: it has some pro-inflammatory agents so I prefer the Omega 3`s alone. I see no need to use them both, one or the other. JG 11.18.09
Answer: the reason is oil is stuck in the bottom of the pore and does not allow it to close, the solutions are hydroxy acid facial cleansers, IPL sessions, and microdermabrasions. In some cases Retin-A can be added. JG 11.18.09
Answer: they are good for cholesterol in that they do not contribute to it rising. JG 11.18.09
Answer: it is all able to be seen and decided by looking, you need to decide where your eyebrows were before and what you would look like if they were lifted. There are many cases where a brow lift can relieve excess eyelid skin but can leave you looking startled or surprised due to overelevation of the brows. I think what is happening in your cheeks is not so much that the Radiesse shifted, but the proces that prompted the need for the filler to begin with has continued and you need more filler in close areas. I normally use Sculptra for the cheeks in my practice. JG 11.18.09
Answer: they can be started after 6 weeks if needed. The longer you wait the less the degree of improvement. JG 11.18.09
Answer: reasonable to use there, yes, all the ebst and thanks for the kind words. JG 11.18.09
Answer: well, it also might be because Juvederm Ultra is intended for deeper injections, it is not to be used interchangeabley with regular Juvederm, they are different products and are supposed to be used for different isues. Sculptra also is injected deep, so if injected properly it should not show through. JG 11.18.09
Answer: yes, it could be done. JG 11.18.09
Answer: small risk opf prolonged pale skin, and in very very rare cases a burn. JG 11.18.09
Answer: I will be honest, I have not been impressed with the results of lasers to control acne breakouts, to treat the scarring afterwards, yes. Any improvements in the breakouts will be very short lived and likely worse right after the laser, sorry. JG 11.18.09
Answer: B vitamins, Omega 3 fish oils, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. JG 11.17.09
Answer: again, it all depends on how your skin responds. JG 11.17.09
Answer: maybe at the begining it can be done that way, but eventually once the superficial damage is gone, it might very well be to strong, so I disagree with their claim. It will not thin the skin but it can cause irritation and redness if overdone. JG 11.17.09
Answer: the injections typically have to be doen a few times to make a difference and it might take up to one year in a thick skinned individual for the final resutls to be seen. The fact that it looked good right at the begining is a good sign for the eventual end result though, just need to give it some time. JG 11.17.09
Answer: IPL will also help, just less dramatic and takes more sessions. Less side effects and risks with the IPL though. JG 11.17.09
Answer: rich in Vitamin C. JG 11.17.09
Answer: we no longer have spa offerings in our office so I do not have a company I can recommend, sorry. JG 11.17.09
Answer: stretching and warm compresses or a haeting pad, it is very common, it is usualy the scar tissue in the breast stretching, not much else can be done, though, sorry. JG 11.17.09
Answer: In the years I have used hyaluronidase I have never seen it dissolve normal HA to that degree. In general, I think it is best to have the person who injected the filler to do the hyaluronidase so they know where they put it. I do not think anything permanent will happen to your skin though. You might need to get some more injected into the remaining lump to flatten it out to make it look less obvious though. JG 11.17.09
Answer: Retin-A and then move on up to a CO2 laser. JG 11.17.09
Answer: I think to answer your questison adequately I would need to see you so I could see your skin and its movement upon animation. Non-invasive things are sometimes an option but not always. Botox and fillers compliment one another, one does not replace the other. JG 11.17.09
Answer: very reasonable and I would have said the same. JG 11.17.09
Answer: Yes, wait about one hour and then its OK to apply. JG 11.17.09
Answer: both will thin the epidermis and thicken the dermis, which is good, I always suggest taking a 2-3 month break with those type products for safety sake. JG 11.17.09
Answer: if possible twice per day, if you are using both, apply the BP first and wait ten minutes before applying the DMAE. JG 11.17.09
Answer: the product is the same but the preparation and injection technique are vastly different, therefore the better and safer results. The material it is made up of is the same as the absorbable sutures we have used for many years, so it is safe. JG 11.16.09
Answer: as to the Z plasty, yes it is possible, I have done it many times for reconstructions after cancer excisons and burns to that area. I am glad I was able to help, but all I did was to remind you of the strength of your own spirit, never lose that again and I am glad I was able to reawaken it in you. All the best. JG 11.16.09
Answer: it might happen, I have not had a case in all the ones I have done, but I have seen and read about it happening. I would personally use Sculptra. JG 11.15.09
Answer: I think 6-12 months should be enough. Best of luck. JG 11.15.09
Answer: it can, but by definition it will make the lower face and chin area fuller and larger. I would likely use Restylane for that if indicated. JG 11.15.09
Answer: it can be done on its own if indicated. I will say though that in many cases the amount of skin in the neck region cannot be draped in a soley horizontal direction, thereby requiring a vertical lift which then needs to employ scars onto the cheek. In theses cases the surgeon will just go ahead and do something on the cheeks to complete the facelift as a facelift is a cheek lift and a necklift together. JG 11.15.09
Answer: it might be thin tissue over the cartilage, yes, but at this time I suggest waiting as it likely will get better with time, I am not familiar with Dr Palmer though. JG 11.17.09
Answer: there is no way to 100% avoid it, that is part and parcel of any injection. JG 11.15.09
Answer: any filler, even your own fat can cause a granulomas and a bump, just read through the postings here and you will see ample unsolicited evidence. I would venture to say that that particular surgeon markets fat injections though. I do think permanent fillers, or at least fillers that have small amounts of potentially permanent fillers should be avoided. I would be willing to bet a large amount of money that the particular plastic surgeon you are quoting has used absorable sutures in the past and that is what Sculptra is made from. For that reason, I think the choice of words on his part was,at least, unartful and well though out, at least in my opinion. JG 11.15.09
Answer: it is the number of impacts that make the difference, so the longer you run for, in terms of distance, the worse it is because there are more steps, and it is the boucing up and down that makes the tissues stretch, a stairmaster or an elliptical trainer would be better as it decreases the jarring impact. Thank you also for the kind comments. JG 11.15.09
Answer: I would ice it and see what happens, I would not be too concerned at present. I doubt it will be permanent but I do think you should see the doctor in a week for follow up. JG 11.15.09
Answer: the TCA peel would last about the same, once the swelling is gone , the results are gone. All the best. JG 11.14.09
Answer: I would not use IPL on eyelids, but some doctors do it, I think it is dangerous. JG 11.14.09
Answer: It might give you about 4-6 months of longevity. It can be repeated though. JG 11.13.09
Answer: well, that is what they s,y, what I would say is do not be disappointed when it grows back. I have never seen it work permanently, it has decreased the rate of growth so it is slower though. JG 11.13.09
Answer: I would say that it is much more then just likely that you will need more than one, I would say it is likely for sure you will need many and the degree of effectiveness is poor and they will in time come back as the cause for the blood vessels will continue ot be there. JG 11.13.09
