Staffers, linked wirelessly to the paperless computer network, walk with their laptops along the sand-colored, stamped concrete floors.

Walls in the waiting area boast plasma screens showcasing images of art that Dr. Garcia has collected over the years. Rattan and wood furniture convey a tropical atmosphere. "It's relaxed, which is how I think patients would like to feel," he says.
