Ask Dr. Garcia - The Archives
Answer: the Retin-A will be stronger, but it will exfoliate the scar, will make it red and will never remove the scar, neither of the creams would remove it. As to fading it, if it is brown in color, then the Retin-A is a stronger and better choice, if it is red though I suggest doing neither one as they will both cause irritation and keep it red longer rather than shorter. JG 7.28.10
Answer: it does help there, should see some improvement in 4 weeks or so and continue from there, the older one is the better to apply it twice daly. All the best. JG 7.27.10
Answer: you are using enough, no need for anything more. JG 7.27.10
Answer: 0.25ml. JG 7.27.10
Answer: I do not think you should be doing your own injections and I do not know where or why you have come up with the dose of 2.5mg/ml. It is a straight mathematical division problem though. 1.8cc approximately. JG 7.25.10
Answer: you can try it, there is no way to guarantee that it will not make the Retin-A more irritating though. JG 7.23.10
Answer: it might absorb better and but it also might cause mroe irritation than without it. All the best.JG 7.23.10
Answer: I would stay with the technique you are using. JG 7.22.10
Answer: could be either, I suggest using some Cortaid 10 which is a steroid first for about 5 days, twice per day, and if not better, then I suggest seeing a dermatologist. Best of luck. JG 7.21.10
Answer: can be used as an IPL is not a true laser, just intense light and not as dangerous. Thank you for the kind words and all the best. JG 7.21.10
Answer: I think in time they likely will wear out, but no way to tell over what period of time or over how many washings. I would guees a year to two or so. JG 7.19.10
Answer: I feel it is on your skin for such a short period of time it likely does not make a large difference. JG 7.19.10
Answer: yes to both, you can also weaken the Retin-A by mixing it with a moisturizer in equal amounts and as your skin gets acclimated, then use less moisturizer each time to allow the Retin-A to get to a higher concentration too. JG 7.16.10
Answer: doubt it is the spiro, it is more likely that you are picking at skin that has been scarred from before and the healing is impaired due to the scar tissue, the most important thing you can do is stop picking at the scars as you are creating a larger problem for yourself. I suggest seeing a dematologist too so they can determine what else cna be used to control your breakouts. JG 7.16.10
Answer: Retin-A is much stronger than retinol. JG 7.14.10
Answer: can try Retin-A, or have them hyfercated by a dermatologist, in some mild cases a chemical peel will help, but in most cses they likely will come back and or you will get more in the future. JG 7.13.10
Answer: I would suggest a light CO2 laser for the first question, as to the lotions, either Retin-A for the entire face and neck or my cell matrix peptide. JG 7.13.10
Answer: I think it will take a laser or chemical peel to improve, sorry. JG 7.12.10
Answer: it helps if you are replacing olive oil for other saturated fats in your diet, but not just by taking it on top of all other bad fats that can have negative effects on your skin. Saturated fats are bad for you skin, just as they are bad for your heart. JG 7.12.10
Answer: well, you can use the Oil of Olay line, or add my cell matrix peptide cream to it, or as a stand alone. Need to add a sunblock during daytime. In general, people think they have to spend a lot to get a good product, and that you have to use many products to get the best results out there but the truth is you do not. JG 7.10.10
Answer: my personal feeling is that although there are good ingredients in it, the amount of them is the key factor, in general, I feel his products are way too expensive for what you are truly buying. You will likely get about as good of a result with Oil of Olay Regenerist and be able to buy a full year`s supply for the price of one of Perricone`s single units. All the best. JG 7.9.10
Answer: although I am not a big fan due to the mild degree of improvement is mild, but a fractional CO2 might be enough for you at this time. JG 7.8.10
Answer: I would not store it in a diluted fashion, there is also no need to reconstitute it, all the triamcinolone I have used comes already mixed. JG 7.8.10
Answer: that would be the only one I would recommend to a patient. JG 7.8.10
Answer: good as long as you keep the brush new frequently. JG 7.7.10
Answer: they are essentially the same thing in terms of their effects on the skin but the FDA has chosen to classify Tazorac as more restrictive, I cannto speak as to why they made that decision besides potential fetal development questions that were reported or feared possible. I have had patients that were using Retin-A and became pregnant and then stopped using it, showing no adverse effects. It is more of an issue of development of the fetus rather than damage to the eggs before fertilization from what I have read. JG 7.6.10
Answer: that short of a term of filling should not leave any negative effects if you have it dissolved now. The hyaluronidase used to dissolve the injection material should not have any negative long term efects on your normal tissues. Best of luck. JG 7.6.10
Answer: I am sorry but I do nto have anything I can offer you, Botox or Dysport have been used for excess sweating in armpits and plams but injecting your whole face is impractical and could weaken facial muscles that you do not want weakened. JG 7.5.10
Answer: none have been tested, sorry. JG 7.4.10
Answer: can be done as you say. JG 7.4.10
Answer: it more likely affects the egg after fertilization as it develops rather than causing egg damage. JG 7.3.10
Answer: there is no age at which it stops as wounds will always heal, there are also the variables of amount of sun damage of the skin that can lower the ability to create collagen, and also the effect of genetics. Those treatments will likely slow the progression down but not halt it or reverse it to any great degree. All the best. JG 7.2.10
Answer: the skin will not look anywhere near normal as the skin graft would leave a depressed scar with no subcutaneous tissue, just scarred skin and muscle. I haver never agreed to do that for that specific reason, in a small number of cases, where the tattoo is very small, I have cut them out and closed the wound, leaving a longer wider scar, but I have never skin grafted one, sorry. JG 7.2.10
Answer: they can be mixed together. JG 7.2.10
Answer: if they are brown, maybe. JG 7.1.10
Answer: they also have glycolic acids in them, or at least most of them. Exfoliation is by definition harsh though, less harsh, less exfoliation, and in weathered skin, it is more difficult to exfoliate initially due to the thicker keratin layer. I am afraid if it is too harsh for you then you might need to use microdermabrasions or IPL treatments to exfoliate as they are not done daily and you migth be able to tolerate them better, at least by the next day. JG 6.30.10
Answer: same, no difference, they are essentially the same thing. JG 6.29.10
Answer: yes. JG 6.29.10
Answer: I think it best to stop it until the baby is born and you are done breast feeding, although the amount absorbed is likely small, but no need to take chances. I do think it is early enough that the risk of damage to the baby is extremely small. Congrats on the baby and all the best. JG 6.29.10
Answer: any hydroxy acid peel should help. JG 6.29.10
Answer: most celebrities, because they can afford to hide out for awhile and not have to work, do lesser procedures more often than those of us that work for a living in normal jobs. That can make the subtle changes be seen less as they get it done over and over again, no way to tell how many, but likely many. JG 6.28.10
Answer: my educated guess is way too many. I know she is a fan of plastic surgery, but her skin, albeit smooth, likely does not look as good without her makeup and does not move that way normal healthy skin should move. Things that look good from afar are sometimes far from good. JG 6.28.10
Answer: sorry, it is injections or surgery. JG 6.27.10
Answer: it should not, no. JG 6.27.10
Answer: if you are eating well like that you can skip the Vitamin C, yes. JG 6.27.10
Answer: I think the tanner is best on top, OK to use the Vitamin C before the tanner though. JG 6.27.10
Answer: no, Mederma helps the wounds mature, heal and fade and once they have done that, they do not return to the way they were. As to returning to the same after Retin-A, that only occurs because once you stop using the Retin-A, since it did nothing to halt the aging process, your skin will age once again. JG 6.25.10
Answer: pretty similar, not much difference I think. JG 6.24.10
Answer: I think Vitamin A derivatives are just weak Retin-A, can be used, do help, easily found. I think Vitamin C serums are also good at a 10% strength, and I think the Oil of Olay Regenerist line, for the money, is a very good product. As to peels, for maintaining things a light alpha hydroxy acid peel every 6-8 weeks is OK, along with sunblock, no more sunscreen. All the best. JG 6.24.10
Answer: should be OK to use now. JG 6.24.10
Answer: I rarely use Retin-A over scars as it can irritate the scars and keep them red longer but if you are set on it, apply the Retin-A first, wait ten minutes and then the Mederma over it. Best of luck and glad I have helped in the past. JG 6.23.10
Answer: my German is rusty but there appears to be not significantly different from most things out there already an dlikey costing less than Byonik, but the packaging is very nice. JG 6.23.10
Answer: ScarGuard or Mederma are good. JG 6.23.10
Answer: Retin-A is a Vitamin A derivative but OTC Vitamin A products are not as strong as Retin-A so I do not think the skin will get crepey. Best of luck. JG 6.22.10
Answer: in general, the effects of vitamins on the skin marketed for anti-aging are nothing special, most multii-vitamins, as long as you add an Omega 3 fish oil, will be plenty. As to celebrity products, they are getting paid to endorse it and they likely had no influence in what went into the product, but they will probably be more expensive than needed in order to pay the celebrity. JG 6.22.10
Answer: if tolerated, it is OK over the Retin-A, as to which is better, they are the same, most people seem to like the gel though. No experience with their glycolic acid product but it is likely OK to use. JG 6.22.10
Answer: yes, I do not feel they are worth the money, sorry. JG 6.21.10
Answer: not Retin-A as it will make it worse, but yes for the Mederma. I have heard of Strivectin, have had patients try it and I am not a believer in it, sorry. JG 6.10.10
Answer: save your money, both will not give you much. JG 6.10.10
Answer: I would save your money. 6.10.10
Answer: to some extent yes, but the issues of environmental damage and smoking are not influenced to any great degree,it will certainly help the effects of diminished hormone levels on the skin though. JG 6.9.10
Answer: might help the penetration a little, yes. JG 6.9.10
Answer: safe, yes. Legal, yes. Effective, I seriously doubt it.I think stay with the weaker retinols in your case. The Skinceuticals or LaRoche Posay are fine to use. JG 6.7.10
Answer: Vitamin B, C E and omega three fish oils. JG 6.6.10
Answer: lots better out there for less money, Oil of Olay Regenerist for example. JG 6.5.10
Answer: I think with all you have been through that using the LaRoche or Skinceuticals is a good place to start, once tolerating them you can get some Retin-A 0.25% and start that by using it twice per week at night, increasing it slowly at night and once tolerating it adding the morning applications as tolerated. Best of luck. JG 6.5.10
Answer: although there is lots of hyaluronic acid in your joints, the chances of oral intake of that getting into your joints is almost impossible, it woudl be broken down into smaller fragments in your stomach and intestine and would not reconstitute into hyaluronc acid again on its own. Save your money. JG 6.3.10
Answer: not, it just might cause some irritation as the Retin-A normally does that. I do not usually tell patients to mix it with Retin-A unless they are really set in their ways. JG 6.3.10
Answer: overpriced as it is a multi-level marketing company so you pay alot more than you need to for a product that is not significantly different than most on the market. JG 6.2.10
Answer: ours is geared for all skin types, if you are going to buy OTC, by stuff for kids as they tend to have less problems with irritation. We have not had any problems with tolerance with our product but it can always happen. Best of luck. JG 5.27.10
Answer: not sure why that woudl happen only on your forehead, are you using some hair products that you leave in your hair? JG 5.26.10
Answer: no better than older IPL treatments, the results are mild and the spots will come back in time. JG 5.23.10
Answer: you can try a YAG laser btu it can be risky in darker skinned people. JG 5.23.10
Answer: we have one on our shopping cart. JG 5.23.10
Answer: it will be more gentle and less effective I am afriad, there will be no good without the bad with retinoids. The IPL can be done but you need to be off the retinoid for a few days before and after. JG 5.23.10
Answer: well, for dry skin you cna try soem creams that contian DMAE or try our cell matrix cream, neither should irritate your dry skin. JG 5.20.10
Answer: just old fashioned 0.05% Retin-A , nothing new by any means, might work safer than a peel. JG 5.19.10
Answer: there are many creams sold OTC with it and there are peels done in medispas with it. JG 5.18.10
Answer: those products will help it get closer to the previous thickness, the older one is with the steroid use the less likely it is they will get back to the prior without intervention. If it was just a short period of time once it should have a minimal effect, if it was more, the effect will be greater. JG 5.17.10
Answer: copper peptides are OK in the short term and then Retin-A for longer term. Best of luck. JG 5.17.10
Answer: should be functionally 100% if reapplied every two hours. All sunblocks are total blocks, it is sunscreens that allow some sun through. JG 5.17.10
Answer: use the peptide cream at night and just use teh sunblock and the rest in the am, the one that you really need to wait in between is the peptide cream and a few minutes for the sunblock, the rest cna be done more quickly. JG 5.16.10
Answer: the bottle should last 6-8 weeks if not more, depends on how often you reapply. JG 5.16.10
Answer: we were not selling enough of it to make it cost effective for me to have it made as it would expire before I can sell the mininaml amount I need to have made, sorry. JG 5.16.10
Answer: there are so many out there that I usually tell people to get one of the preset multiple antioxidant pills out there, there is not one that I think alone will do the trick. JG 5.16.10
Answer: I think a little higher dose is a good idea and as to the Omega 3, I suggest 1-3 grams per day in most cases. JG 5.16.10
Answer: I personally do not feel the Retin-A is needed with my cream but soem people insist on using it in conjunction, so I tell them to put the Retin-A on first. You can apply the Diffferein first and then follow with the peptide cream if you desire, no problem with that. JG 5.16.10
Answer: eventually, with time, yes, they will come back in the same exact spot and you would likely get new ones too. Sunblock will help, but there is nothing that will stop it forever. Bleaching creams do not need to be used once the spot is gone, that is for treatment and less for prevention. JG 5.12.10
Answer: it has never been studied on pregnant patients to the best of my knowledge, so I cannot say 100%. The 10% Gly is likely OK though. JG 5.12.10
Answer: yes, but wait at least 10 minutes before applying anything over it, including make up and sunblock. JG 5.11.10
Answer: been around since about the 1920`s, do not think there is much science behind it to back the claims. JG 5.7.10
Answer: not so much, anything that fades the brown spots and controls acne will potentially aggravate the redness, or at least not make it any better. The redness can be made better with some IPL treatments. Best of luck. JG 5.7.10
Answer: 5%. 4% for the Titanium. JG 5.7.10
Answer: yes, if desired. JG 5.7.10
Answer: nope. JG 5.7.10
Answer: I think it is less important when applied topically on the skin than when taken internally, but in general, alhtough they, the Omega 6, are all over the place in skin oils, I would avoid them as they are all pro-inflammatory and we have enough inflammation as it is. JG 5.7.10
Answer: if the skin becomes irritated from the mixture, for a short period of time it can be darker and then should progressively lighten over time, by that I mean months, not days. I would continue it if you are not having any skin irritation. JG 5.6.10
Answer: essentially, yes, with a variety of different devices. They will come back in time and the treatment will have to be repeated though, all the best. JG 5.5.10
Answer: I know of no bad interactions between them. JG 5.5.10
Answer: well, it will be effective to some degree but never as much as the prescription strength. JG 5.4.10
Answer: never when sutures are in place, wait a couple of days after the sutures are out to begin using it. JG 5.4.10
Answer: yes, it works. JG 5.4.10
Answer: anything you do will not be permanent I am afraid, repeating the peel can be done, but they will come back, sorry. JG 5.4.10
Answer: just a good moisturizer. JG 4.24.10
Answer: sorry, but no, it will not, it is meant for improvement in the fine lines that are from poor skin quality, and the lose skin that is starting on your neck is a quantity not a quality issue. JG 4.23.10
Answer: its a concentration thing, look for 10%. JG 4.23.10
Answer: if no improvement is seen after 3 months, you can stop. JG 4.23.10
Answer: I do not think it will make it more visible necessarilly, it might lighten the brownsih discloration some as willthe Vitmain C but not sure how much of a difference. JG 4.22.10
Answer: skin grafting would make it worse, the laser can only fade redness, short of a prolonged option of placing a tissue expander to stretch the skin for 6 months and then revising the scar, there is not much that can likely be done, the scars in that area tend to widen due to the activity of the muscles of the arm. The tissue expander is essentially a large balloon that is stretched slowly over months and it stretches the skin but the arm will look pretty weird while undergoing the stretching. JG 4.22.10
Answer: yes, it will come back, even if just from friction on the skin. I guess all you can do is hope. JG 4.21.10
Answer: I am happy that they got better but I would ventrue to say that it will come back in the near future. Not much you can do to prevent it recurring, glad you did not get a burn from the peels too. JG 4.21.10
Answer: I am not a believer of the claims made for Nia24, sorry. JG 4.20.10
Answer: none of them are effective. Julio Garcia MD 4.19.10
Answer: they might use it, but it only works on sun acquired recent brown spots, it will not fade skin to a lighter tone unless it is removing a suntan. Julio Garcia MD 4.19.10
Answer: no better than all of the other OTC products out there I am afraid. Julio Garcia MD 4.19.10
Answer: can try Brooke Seckel MD in Boston, best of luck. Julio Garcia MD 4.19.10
Answer: the darker your skin is to start with, the riskier it is with PIH, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. JG 4.18.10
Answer: both very similar, as to the hyperpigmentation I would use an IPL or a Q Switched YAG laser. JG 4.17.10
Answer: th eeyelash extensions can pull out the lashes in some cases and as to Perirrcione, I think they are good but way too expensive for what you get. JG 4.17.10
Answer: I would just avoid the burn area. It might not heal well there. JG 4.17.10
Answer: lots of unfounded hype, your skin cannot select individual ingredients that are in liposmal carriers, your skin will absorb them all and then use what it can, but there is no skin sensitive selectivity to absorb one product over another. He cleverly never quite says that but allows you to make that assumption from what he writes about it.JG 4.16.10
Answer: DMAE and CoQ 10 are good skin care product ingredients but by no means are they the only ones, I am afraid you are looking for something that willl never exist. A single, non-changing answer to what is best for your skin. There are many things that are good but no one thing is ever best. Rotating products to get a variety of good ingredient can be a good idea as one cannot apply all things that are recognized as helpful and get them all to absorb in adequate amounts. JG 4.16.10
Answer: yes. JG 4.16.10
Answer: yes. JG 4.16.10
Answer: Sacre Bleu, not even close to being worth it.JG 4.16.10
Answer: DMAE and CoQ 10 are good ones for OTC products. Alternatively you can use my cell matrix cream on our shopping cart.JG 4.16.10
Answer: yes, but they are over priced for what he puts in there, oh well, but they are good. JG 4.16.10
Answer: just the Mederma. JG 4.15.10
Answer: on the face, glycolic acids and TCA peels. JG 4.15.10
Answer: you can add Retin-A but for it to work will take months not weeks. No on the lasers. JG 4.15.10
Answer: no, they do not. JG 4.15.10
Answer: Mederma or Scarguard should help. JG 4.15.10
Answer: is it red or brown? JG 4.14.10
Answer: I think what he has suggested is a good start, as to a facial wash, anything with glycolic acid will be good enough, many are sold OTC. All the best. JG 4.13.10
Answer: we stopped selling it not because there was anything bad, it was just that when I started offering the cell matrix peptide cream, everyone wanted that one and no one kept buying the DMAE cream. 4% is what the DMAE should be in the cream. JG 4.12.10
Answer: am not convinced the elastoplast does much and as to the skin ailment, it all depends what is itching you as to what I would recommend. JG 4.9.10
Answer: for crow`s feet I use 20 units per side.JG 4.9.10
Answer: Retin-A I feel, it has the longer time period studying it for its effectiveness. The Retin-A is a daily application where the other is a chemcal peel administered every few months or so as needed and is riskier for developing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. JG 4.8.10
Answer: we used to sell their products but no longer do. I cannot really tell you what the differences are, sorry. In general the Obagi product line i good though.JG 4.8.10
Answer: we no longer sell the DMAE cream because when we started selling our peptide cream, the users all wanted to switch over to that and I was not selling enough of the DMAE cream any more so we stopped having it made, no other reason that that. As to the size of implant, there is an upper limit on Silicone implants made in the US when they are not custom made, but saline implants or recontructive implants can be used and can go larger.JG 4.8.10
Answer: I no longer use DMAE creams, so I cannot recommend one, I suggest the peptide cream that we sell on our website. JG 4.7.10
Answer: still OK to do, yes. JG 4.7.10
Answer: it might still improve with more treatments. JG 4.7.10
Answer: need to keep using the product for it to stay gone. JG 4.7.10
Answer: Recent studies involving a gel formulation containing DMAE have shown that the compound can increase skin firmness, even in younger subjects.Thirty healthy adults between the ages of 36 and 49 were given tests that measured changes in skin tautness after application with the DMAE gel, compared to placebo. Results indicated that the placebo had little or no effect on skin firmness, while the DMAE-treated skin exhibited greater tautness.Researchers offer two possible explanations for these results. First, DMAE may enhance water retention in connective skin tissue, causing the surface of the skin to tighten. The second, and more likely, explanation involves DMAE’s cholinergic feature, which enhances the skin’s ability to transmit acetylcholine. The neurotransmitter’s function in sending signals from nerves to muscles may promote a form of muscle tightening in the skin. It is important to note that although DMAE cannot fully reverse existing facial sagging, it may reduce its further progression. Some people report a cumulative effect with continued use of the compound.Age spots, or “liver spots,” also may respond effectively to DMAE in cream, gel, or tablet form. Studies have shown that DMAE’s membrane-stabilizing properties reduced the accumulation of lipofuscin deposits inside cells. Lipofuscin, a brownish cellular pigment consisting of aggregated chunks of molecular waste formed by the inefficient metabolism of fatty acids, tends to occur in the cells of older people and is primarily responsible for age spots. DMAE has been shown to flush excess lipofuscin from affected skin cells.DMAE is a potent, site-specific free radical scavenger. An in-vitro study found that adding DMAE to myocytes (the heart’s pumping cells) protected individuals from cell damage resulting from ischemia, a lack of oxygen and blood flow to the heart, and from metabolic inhibition. Taken in the proper dosage, DMAE’s antioxidant effects can offer probable benefits of value in the maintenance of overall cellular health. As to the Retin-A, it should help with the lines, yes. JG 4.7.10
Answer: nothing that is reproducaeel and reliable I am afraid. If the electrolysis did not work, the laser will do even less than that, especially for blonde hair. Could try prescription Vaniqa though. JG 4.6.10
Answer: neither, buy some generic Retin-A with a prescription for the best option. JG 4.6.10
Answer: I am not hot about it. JG 4.6.10
Answer: the only one I thought was worth the money was the one we used to sell, but we now sell a pepetide cell matrix cream instead on our shopping cart. JG 4.6.10
Answer: well, the dilution is what I mentioend earlier, but I personally do not think the crsytals stay intact for very long after injection for the saline injectiosn to work days or weeks after the injection is first done. I guess you can hope they are correct in their assessment, but I have not seen it be effective in practical treatmen terms. One can always hope. JG 4.6.10
Answer: well, if the saline injection is done in the first day or so it might dilute the kenalog enough and spread it out over a larger area to decrease the effects, but once it has a negative effect, injecting saline will no longer help. As to tretinoin, I seriously doubt it will help as the steroid is much stronger than the tretinoin. The faster the atrophy occcurs the worse the potential long term effects can be I am afraid. JG 4.5.10
Answer: the dissolvable sutures might have gotten infected or you are allergic to them. Might just use neosporin to help it heal. JG 4.5.10
Answer: I think the dangers of DMAE creams are hyped and not really true,as to the best, it is impossible to tell because none of them tell you the concentration of the DMAE in the cream. JG 4.5.10
Answer: have not used Smart Lash and we do not sell Latisse. JG 4.5.10
Answer: might suggest some IPL treatments and also some Retin-A. Micordermabrasions might help with the pores too. Happy Easter to you too. JG 4.4.10
Answer: Carnosine is a small molecule composed of the amino acids histidine and alanine. Carnosine is found in relatively high concentrations in several body tissues—most notably in skeletal muscle, heart muscle, nerve tissue and brain. The exact biological role of carnosine is not well understood, but many studies indicate that carnosine has antioxidant potential. Carnosine may also act as a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger in the nervous system). Carnosine has been called a longevity nutrient since laboratory studies on tissues indicate that it can delay senescence and provoke cellular rejuvenation in cultured human fibroblasts. Carnosine has been called the anti-aging and anti-oxidant dipeptide. The exact role of carnosine supplementation in human health is not clear at this time. L-Carnosine is a dipeptide composed of the covalently bonded amino acids alanine and histidine and is found in the brain, heart, skin, muscles, kidneys and stomach. L-Carnosine is naturally produced in the body by the enzyme carnosine synthetase.L-Carnosine supports healthy aging and cellular rejuvenation by its effects on two mechanisms: Glycosylation and free radical damage. Glycosylation is the oxidation of proteins by glucose resulting in cross-linking of proteins and which is implicated in loss of cell function, genome integrity and accelerated aging. L Carnosine also protects the aging process of the brain by retarding lipid peroxidation and stabilizing cell membranes. There are more studies doen on the L-carnosine and its effects. When you buy Carnisien you get both R and L isomers of the carnosine. The dose I take is L Carnosine (alanylhistidine) - 500 mg each pill. I take 1 carnosine capsule before or with breakfast daily. Happy Easter. JG 4.4.10
Answer: no scientific proof I am afraid. JG 4.4.10
Answer: there are different types of Restylane and Juvederm that were developed for that, it is nothing new nor something Dr Wexler is the only one doing. JG 4.2.10
Answer: totally ablative CO2 laser.UltraPulse CO2 was the most widely known. JG 3.31.10
Answer: it can be used on the eyes also, no need for a different cream. I think if you desire you can apply the Retin-A first and then my peptide and skip the Skinceuticals. JG 3.30.10
Answer: yes, it can. DMAE creams and my peptide cream also help. JG 3.30.10
Answer: if it is a bridge, it is just superficial, if it is a tooth implant, that goes into the bone and is better in terms of losing contour. In cases where a bridge is palced, the bone lessens and then there can be contour changes.JG 3.29.10
Answer: If the tooth is replaced it will not change the face negatively, it is only if the tooth is removed, not replaced and the amount of bone in the jaw lessens. JG 3.29.10
Answer: might look good for a few hours. JG 3.28.10
Answer: a burn is highly unusual, what the problem was that it should be a prescription written by a doctor and that way the doctor can make sure intermittently that all is OK and that the hydroquinone was the approriate medication. When a patient self medicates, they could be using the wrong thing or not realizing that they might need a biopsy of a brown spot to rule out cancer. JG 3.26.10
Answer: do not recommend it and I have heard of it, yes. JG 3.25.10
Answer: nothing special that most of the others do not have. In many cases it is a combination of skin care along with peels done to get the best effects. JG 3.25.10
Answer: just the brown ones, it cna make the red ones more irritated. For the blemishes you can try ScarGurard or Mederma. JG 3.25.10
Answer: retinols, glycolic acids, DMAE are good places to start. JG 3.25.10
Answer: yes. JG 3.25.10
Answer: at that concentration, pretty similar. JG 3.25.10
Answer: the older oen is the less impressive the results will be with Erbium lasers. JG 3.24.10
Answer: the concnetration to be used depends on what the patient needs, but as to TCA, it is generic, no brand better than another. JG 3.24.10
Answer: Doctor`s office or at the pharmacy with a prescription. JG 3.24.10
Answer: to some degree. JG 3.23.10
Answer: IPL, microdermabrasions and beta hydroxy acid peels in the spa. JG 3.23.10
Answer: should be safe, but no studies have been done, the percentage of the Vitamin A absorbed is unknown. JG 3.22.10
Answer: in many cases it will fill in, it might take 6 months or more though, not much you can do at this point except wait, sorry. JG 3.20.10
Answer: yes.JG 3.15.10
Answer: I think it is good, yes.JG 3.15.10
Answer: nothing is 100% non-comedogeneic but I like the Oil of Olay line. JG 3.14.10
Answer: Retin-A and hydroquinonealong with a series of light TCA peels, 20-25% at most. Best of luck. JG 3.14.10
Answer: the nasal skin sounds like a skin issue that a consultation with a dermatologist might be able to prescribe some medication for. Even oily skinned people can have that problem. You cna certainly alternate the skin products you mention as you are doing. Best of luck. JG 3.14.10
Answer: good. JG 3.12.10
Answer: well, honestly, I do not think you need the others, if you desire, you can apply the Retin-A first, wait ten minutes and then apply mine, I think the TNS is not needed, and the hydroquinone is only needed if you have brown spots as my cream is not intended to alleviate that problem. JG 3.10.10
Answer: OK to use around the eye but might need to build up to it by not using it every day at first. As to using it after the CO2, I suggest at least 6 weeks if possible. As to the DMAE %, yes, correct, but we have switched our creams over to a multiple peptide cream. JG 3.10.10
Answer: yes to both, apply the Retin-A first and wait 10 minutes before the matrix cream. JG 3.9.10
Answer: we have one on our shopping cart that hessp many but not all patients. JG 3.8.10
Answer: there is no free lunch, you can have something that heals shorter, such as a lighter chemical peel or a lighter laser but then there will not be as much of a difference.Sorry. A series of light ones does not equal one deep one. JG 3.8.10
Answer: I think ours are at least as good if not better. The company has alot of hype with nearly nothing to prove their claims besides testimonials. No scientific evidence aywhere. JG 3.7.10
Answer: my pleasure. JG 3.7.10
Answer: glycolic acids products and IPL lasers might help, best of luck. JG 3.6.10
Answer: impossible for me to tell without seeing it I am afraid, sorry. JG 3.5.10
Answer: wait 4-6 weeks, it can be irritated by those products if applied too soon, yes. JG 3.5.10
Answer: I know of no studies where the two have been studied for that comparison, I do not think they would interact, but no way to tell 100%.Sorry. JG 3.4.10
Answer: I am not a fan of the Levulan treatment as it erases the safety profile of the light source and makes it essentially no better than an older chemical peel, just sounds newer. I think dermaplaning, in experienced hands does quite well, or traditional chemcial peels or lighter lasers. All should improve your concerns. Best of luck. JG 3.4.10
Answer: yes, it is a temporary effect as the products are absorbed, we use liposomal technolgy to push the products through the skin. It is a feeling off dryness but is actually not drying to the skin at all. I am afaid that the matrix cream does not help with the freckling or brow spots, for that you need another cream and we did not include that ingredient as it will, by its nature, irritate the skin and we were trying to avoid that. You can get some hydroquinone 4% cream from your local doctor for the spots. All the best. JG 3.3.10
Answer: they will help with the inherited dark circles too, although injections also can help, the main ingredient in the dark circle cream is haloxyl, but there are other chelating agents in it also. JG 3.2.10
Answer: well, I do think it might be worthwhile to see your primary care doctor and get some antibiotics to get it to settle down faster due to its location. It is actually common for the eyelid to get swollen as gravity pulls the swelling into that direction. A warm pack would be better at this point to get the infection to hopefully open and drain on its own. JG 3.2.10
Answer: it can happen, yes. As to the make up being removed, it absolutely needs to be removed before the treatment, she was incorrect. JG 3.2.10
Answer: just wait a few minutes between if they are both serums. JG 3.2.10
Answer: You can use it on the eyelids or the entire face, I usually tell patients to use it at night. I think good antioxidants are a good idea too, but no need to take super high amounts. JG 2.28.10
Answer: I am not a believer, sorry. JG 2.28.10
Answer: Retin-A at night, the other two in the morning. JG 2.27.10
Answer: I think you can continue those as the irritation is minimal, and that is what I suggest taking a break from. JG 2.27.10
Answer: smoother texture, less fine lines, healthier glow, softer feel to the skin. JG 2.26.10
Answer: I like that product, otherwise look for SPF 50 or higher. JG 2.26.10
Answer: well, I am biased but I think mine is better. JG 2.26.10
Answer: low risk. JG 2.26.10
Answer: just the pores, otehrwise it has no benefit, just helps things go on smoothly. It is not an efficient moisturizer, it just allows the ingredients to be thinned out and easier to apply to the skin. JG 2.25.10
Answer: just use your sunblock and reapply every two hours. All the best. JG 2.25.10
Answer: in general bad as it can plug pores, but nothing is 100%. JG 2.24.10
Answer: no, OK to alternate. JG 2.24.10
Answer: it can be layered as you mention, all the best. JG 2.24.10
Answer: for your forehead, the filler sounds like the option to go with. JG 2.23.10
Answer: hard to answer as I am not able to find out the ingredients nor concentrations in the cream. As to using Tazorac and my cell matrix cream, apply the Tazorac first, wait ten minutes, then my cream. JG 2.22.10
Answer: pretty similar effects from them. Might last a year or so. JG 2.22.10
Answer: apply the peptide first, and then wait a bit before applying the others to let it absorb. It is unique due to the 5 peptides in it, rather than just one along with penetration enhancers. It will in essence do the same as the Retin-A without the irritation, but the pepetide cream will not help with brown spots where Retin-A will. Best of luck. JG 2.22.10
Answer: I am sorry but I have not had any patietns use the Derma Advance products. I cannot endorse it without knowing more about it, sorry. It is more effective if you wait ten minutes after the Tazorac and then apply the moisturizer as you need to allow the Tazorac to be absorbed first to avoid diluting it. JG 2.22.10
Answer: yes, it can be used as a stand alone or in combination with the tretinoin cream or Vitamin C serum. JG 2.21.10
Answer: 4%, and don`t forget the sunblock. JG 2.21.10
Answer: somewhat, the scar needs to be released with a needle or scalpel first, it is not just a case of the injection alone. JG 2.19.10
Answer: impossible to tell as they do not tell you the gross amounts nor the concentration of the peptides, sorry. JG 2.18.10
Answer: the cell matrix helps with the texture and fine lines and the dark circle cream helps to reduce the dark circles around the eyes. The cell matrix is applied to th eentire face and eye area once at night and can be repeated around the eys in the morning if one is using only that. If one is using the dark circle cream, then that can be applied twice daily around the lower eye area. There is no need to use a moisturizer over it as it has those properties in the cream itself. JG 2.18.10
Answer: It is used for acne, Retin-A was initially also used for acne and then the benefits of it for wrinkles were seen and it was approved for that also. I personally feel the diference between them is very small and Retin-A, since you can get generic now, is as good and lots cheaper for fine lines and skin issues. JG 2.17.10
Answer: I usually start with Retin-A mixed with 4% Hydroquinone, but the latter can be mixed with the Tazorac too. Tazorac is not better, and it is more expensive too. Best of luck. JG 2.17.10
Answer: good options, there are a number of machines but they are all similar. All the best. JG 2.17.10
Answer: only if it is brown. JG 2.16.10
Answer: laser would help much more than a steroid cream. JG 2.15.10
Answer: I see no advantage for a woman to apply testosterone to the face or take orally with the hopes of improving skin. As to estrogen, if their levels of estrogens have dropped, it might help, but it is a better preventor of aging of the skin than a treatment. JG 2.15.10
Answer: I think you are doing fine, stay with what you have, the differences between moisturizers is minimal, some just add things like retinol but you are already using tretinoin which is much stronger. There is confusion because there is little difference and the companies are trying to get you to buy theirs and not the other. JG 2.13.10
Answer: I think that is a good Idea, but I think if the first two do not work, Mederma will not either, and you might need a YAG laser to help it along. Sorry to hear about the problem. JG 2.12.10
Answer: no, if anything, since it thickens the dermis, it should improve the scar. JG 2.12.10
Answer: I would not buy it. JG 2.12.10
Answer: Mederma alone. JG 2.11.10
Answer: I think just neosporin for now, the others are not needed at this time. Once the scab heals the ScarGuard can be used, but not until the surface is healed for fear of infection and irritation. Stop picking and go see your dermatologist to make sure all is OK. JG 2.10.10
Answer: we do ship to Canada, might be FedEx, I apply the cream myself to my entire face at night and then on my lower lids alone in the morning, you use a very small amount as it spreads quite well, most people find the jar last 6-8 weeks or so. JG 2.10.10
Answer: Mederma. JG 2.10.10
Answer: I suggest a little break for a couple of motnhs once per year and then OK to restart, having said that, not all spots are totally removed with hydroquinone, so continued use past 12 months is likely not going to help any further. JG 2.9.10
Answer: there is some advantage, but the older you are, the less it does. JG 2.9.10
Answer: the Retin-A and Hydroquinone first followed by the peptide cream. I do not think you will get much more from the estriol cream. I think you have maximized the effects with what you already have on board.JG 2.8.10
Answer: Retin-A and Hydroquinone for the corners of the mouth, maybe liposuction for the neck and not much for the legs I am afraid. JG 2.8.10
Answer: I am afraid that I have nothing that will work for that, sorry. JG 2.8.10
Answer: it should not increase the risk, no. JG 2.8.10
Answer: you can try our cell matrix peptide cream on our shopping cart, it does not exfoliate (which your skin does not need for fear of worsening things) but should help your skin issues. JG 2.8.10
Answer: safe to use the IPL, yes, sorry we are not closer too, all the best. JG 2.8.10
Answer: yes, and then restart with alternating the creams to be sure it is OK. JG 2.8.10
Answer: seems like a fair price compared to others out there. JG 2.7.10
Answer: might be connected, migth suggest some Levulan and pulsed light therapy by a dermatologist, I wish you the best. JG 2.7.10
Answer: see above answer.JG 2.7.10
Answer: I would use it for about 10-14 days or until the skin has healed its surface, essentially when the spot stops buring. JG 2.7.10
Answer: I like aquaphor better and I leave them open, all the best. JG 2.6.10
Answer: it will irritate the skin too, I trust you have been using sunblock over it all the time. You cna also add Retin-A to it to see if that helps tha fading. Hard to say 100% without seeing what is going on, but it should have started fading by 6 weeks, I suggest seeing the doctor who prescribed it to you before making any changes. Best of luck. JG 2.5.10
Answer: should be OK, yes. JG 2.5.10
Answer: they can,but they also increase the potential scarring if they do, I do nto think it is a reasonable alternative to lasers due to the increased scarring problem. If the person does not have a laser but can do TCA, they will try to talk you into it though. JG 2.4.10
Answer: well, I guess it depends on what you call firming, if you mean relieving fine lines, then yes, if you mean puffing the skin, no, if you mean lifting the skin, no. JG 2.4.10
Answer: I have never seen nor heard of that happening to be honest. JG 2.2.10
Answer: impossible for me to say as it has not been tested and there is no guarantee. You woudl need to ask your dermaologist as to which medications you can use while pregnant. JG 2.2.10
Answer: no one knows 100% but it should be as it is not absorbed systemically so it should not touch or reach the baby. JG 2.3.10
Answer: I am not sure that skin care line for acne has even been tested for safety on pregnant females, sorry. JG 2.2.10
Answer: you can use them both if you desire, there is more evidence on the effects of the tretinoin over many years though. JG 2.1.10
Answer: I cannot say 100%, sorry. Once you test pregnant though, there is blood to blood communication to the baby. JG 2.1.10
Answer: the indentation would only occur if only part of the angioma closed off, the angioma occupies space and unless it is cut out, it will either return or leave a potential depression. JG 2.1.10
Answer: correct. JG 2.1.10
Answer: should not affect your rhinoplasty results. I think avoiding any skin irritants on the skin like glycoic acid products is the best way to allow the skin to heal, it will not take too long. Best of luck. JG 1.31.10
Answer: well, there are no studies to show its safety, I cannto say 100% that an abortion is indicated. I think you should speak about the issue with your obstetrician, but it is not as severe a problem as Accutane, in that cases, the chances for severe child deformities is very high, not so in Tazoarac. JG 1.31.10
Answer: I would not spend my money. JG 1.31.10
Answer: no, you should be using at least spf 50 or higher. Use a sunblock and not a sunscreen and the sunblock should have enough moisturizer in it. JG 1.31.10
Answer: I seriously doubt it. JG 2.3.10
Answer: it will not help the moles but will help the spots, I think the Tazorac and hydroquinone at night and then sunblck right before the makeup in the morning.JG 1.30.10
Answer: usually that occurs to some hormone imbalance with too much testosterone and therefore too much DHT. The predisposition to acne is genetic, if the pores get plugged with the oil and they harbor bacteria to a certain level on their skin, they are more prone to the acne. JG 1.29.10
Answer: in some cases, it is a matter of years, until the hormone issues balance out. Might want to ask your dermatologist about other options, like Accutane. JG 1.29.10
Answer: it can do that, yes. JG 1.29.10
Answer: yes, it is better than the old eye booster cream. Good for fine lines and texture. JG 1.29.10
Answer: I really do not have anything for the hollowness, I will look into the website, we have an eye cream for puffyness and also one for dark circles and the pateints now are using the cell matrix for the eyelid skin itself along with the face, no special eye cream for wrinkles like we did before as the new cell matrix is stronger. JG 1.29.10
Answer: I think the biggest hollywood secret is professional makeup artists that do their makeup along with photoshop alterations on magazine pictures. Not to endorse magazines like the National Enquirer, but they frequently show pictures of stars without make up and they look pretty average. I cannot say whether those women have had anything done to their faces but if one has the time and money, frequent small things like laser peels and fillers and Botox type things always help. JG 1.29.10
Answer: sorry, but I have not had any patients that have used it. JG 1.29.10
Answer: Retin-A first. JG 1.27.10
Answer: it is aproprietary mixture of 5 peptides in a liposomal delivery along with haloxyl, we stopped selling our DMAR as the patients started buying the cell matrix instead and the sales of the DMAE decreased. The cream is applied at least once per day, no more than twice. JG 1.27.10
Answer: the products you are using should not cause that, might be happening from excessive Vitamin A intake, whether in vitamin pill form or food products though. It can also be an early sign of hepatitis, might need to get some blood work done to figure it out. JG 1.26.10
Answer: yes to both. JG 1.25.10
Answer: that is something called poikiloderma and can be controlled with the use of glycolic acid cleansers and glycolic acid creams, many are over the counter, otherwise you can have her see a dermatologist. JG 1.24.10
Answer: between those two, the V-Peel. JG 1.23.10
Answer: probably safe and probably a waste of time and money too. JG 1.21.10
Answer: I have never heard of that happening with the above stated regimen. JG 1.21.10
Answer: well I would suggest antibiotics and Retin-A first. JG 1.21.10
Answer: I am sorry but I have not had any patients that have used it so I cannot comment on it. JG 1.20.10
Answer: well, in the three muscles where Botox or Dysport are commonly used, the crows feet, the forehead and the glabella, the degree of volume loss, even if there were complete atrophy of the muscle, would be quite small and likely not visible as the muscle are very small, flat, fan-shaped and not bulky. Even if it would, as soon as the paralytic agent wears off when you cease getting the injections, the muscles regain their stimulation and regain their strength too. Those muscles are small enough that they do not need heavy lifting to regain size and strength. JG 1.19.10
Answer: always possible, also look tt see what other ingredients are in it, like retinols, or hydroxy acids that can also irritate the skin too. I suggest stopping them until you can figure it out. JG 1.19.10
Answer: close but Kinerase is better I think. JG 1.18.10
Answer: yes, any antibiotics or skin cream for acne can do that but not always, it is called purging and what it does is not form new break outs, but actually takes break out pimples that were deep to come to the surface and break through sooner than they would have the other way. JG 1.18.10
Answer: you might break out whne you stop, yes, the reason to take it is to control the acne break outs in the hope that what is causing it will decrease or resolve itself along with the fact that break outs cause scars, so if you reduce the break outs, you reduce potential scarring. JG 1.18.10
Answer: no, different antibiotics have different effects on different people. Might want to add some Retin-A too. JG 1.18.10
Answer: birth control pills will help, but nothing will totally control it. Accutane might but has serious side effects. Maybe using some Retina-A and some topical antibiotics from your dermatologist should help. JG 1.18.10
Answer: sorry, but I have not had any personal experience in its use. JG 1.18.10
Answer: It can stil be used for maintenece even after one year, as if you stop it, some of the improvement will return due to the progressive aging process. There ae no long term studies of its long term use though. Any cream used will reach a level of maximum improvement and then the best it will do is to maintain things. Aging is progresive, sorry. JG 1.18.10
Answer: yes, but understand that the degree of improvement levels off, after 12 months, it will only maintian, not reduce the fine lines. JG 1.17.10
Answer: if they are superfical lines, then a filler such as Restylane will work, but not if they are deep folds. JG 1.17.10
Answer: it is OK to use them both as long as you wait some time inbetween the applications. JG 1.17.10
Answer: I do not think thay are linked together. JG 1.16.10
Answer: probabaly just use what is in your medicine cabinet, hyaluronic acid topically is not absorbed by the skin and when they do nor say how it is being absorbed except to claim something in quotes that is new, I begin to doubt things. JG 1.15.10
Answer: minimal amount I feel after 2-3 months afterwards with an erbim laser. JG 1.15.10
Answer: not a big deal, if you want it, get the cheaper one. JG 1.15.10
Answer: neither will tighten loose skin but will help with fine lines, the difference is small, but I think the Kinerase is good enough. JG 1.14.10
Answer: I think external ultrasonic tools do not offer much over other methods like microdermabrasions. As to our sunblock, it is sunblock that is non-comedogenic and it allows make up to be applied over it. I am sorry about the problems, if you call the office the ladies will fix the problem with your order and I will speak to my webmaster about the problem. Thanks for alerting me to the problem, and again, we are sorry for any inconvenience.JG 1.14.10
Answer: it should not cause facial hair, what was causing the acne is what is causing the facial hair. You cannot do laser hair removal while on Accutane for fear of scarring though. I do not think the spironolactone will help prevent the initial breakouts from Accutane though not much will help that. Sorry. JG 1.14.10
Answer: might need to control the acne first and then possibly treat the area with a CO2 laser. JG 1.12.10
Answer: there are differences, yes, especially in terms of sterility and since a microdermabrasion can cause skin abrasions and some slight bleeding if they go deep, I think it best in a physician supervised location. JG 1.12.10
Answer: Retin-A will not work for deep wrinkles or nasolabial folds, no matter what age, sorry. JG 1.11.10
Answer: yes, it is. Max effect is after 12 months, most people see some improvement after 2 months and then it continues to what you see at 12 months. JG 1.11.10
Answer: difficult to fix, might be scar tissue around a nerve, can try some kenalog injections if they can feel the hard knot of scar tissue. JG 1.11.10
Answer: sorry, but no, it only helps really fine lines. JG 1.11.10
Answer: Retin-A might help a small amountt but you cannot use it while on Accutnae. Otherwise it is lasers and you need to be off the Accutane for at least 6 months. JG 1.11.10
Answer: can take months, no sun expsoure in the meantime, might need some bleaching cream or a YAG laser too, best of luck. JG 1.10.10
Answer: no better or worse than other toners on the market. JG 1.10.10
Answer: musces do not get loose as we age, the tissues above the muscles sag and the skin sags, but eating, talking and chewing keep the muscles toned, those machines are alot of hype and have littel good effect. They might make you look tighter becasue of the short term swelling is all, but not longer lasting than that. JG 1.10.10
Answer: I might suggest some microdermabrasion or light glycoic acid peels to take the cover off the pores and allow the blackheads to be pushed out, an aethetician can also do extractions for them. Best of luck. JG 1.10.10
Answer: nothing that is significantly any better than what has been out there for years. JG 1.10.10
Answer: no, Sculptra is injected deep to fill in lost fat, not directly into the layers of kin like Juvederm. They are used for different things. JG 1.9.10
Answer: depends on whether your skin peeld, if it did not, you can repeat it sooner. JG 1.9.10
Answer: copper peptides are a specific type of peptide cream and we use it only after an acute injury, like a laser, otherwise peeptide creams are usually used to slow the aging process of the skin. JG 1.8.10
Answer: I would start with Retin-a and hydroquinone creams as TCA peels are not as safe on the body as they are on the face, and no sun exposure to the area either. JG 1.6.10
Answer: sorry, but no, there is not. JG 1.6.10
Answer: the bad rays will still get through, the UVB especially, which are the bad ones for cancer. The UVA rays will not penetrate into the house though. JG 1.5.10
Answer: I feel it will do so only while still swollen unless you use a deep peel like phenol. JG 1.5.10
Answer: my choice for what you are describing is Sculptra, injected in the standard fashion over the area of fat loss, not above it. JG 1.5.10
Answer: without seeing you in person it is hard for me to say, but maybe a laser to tighten the skin in that area might help. I must say, although I have had patients post here about similar problems, I have never seen it in person happen. Not sure why or for what reason it occurred. JG 1.5.10
Answer: until the brown spots are better, can likely be repeated every 6 weeks or so. JG 1.5.10
Answer: while you are swollen, I think the TCA will help, and as the swelling goes away, the wrinkles come back. In most cases the wrinkles start to return after about 6 weeks if you do a peel deep enough for it to take 14 days to heal. I think a 15% TCA would be an absolute waste of time for swelling and wrinkles though.Repeated chemical peels could put you at risk to develop brown spots as part of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Thanks for the kind words and best of luck. JG 1.4.10
Answer: well, if you felt your prior experience was worth it, I certainly would not try to dissuade you from what you want to do. I guess it is a matter of expectation, I might expect more from the treatments is all. I have used erbium lasers and I was disappointed with what I saw and the patients I treated were likewise disappointed. Having said that, I believe that patient expectations also come into play, for example I think when people see a plastic surgeon they expect dramatic results whereas when they see a dermatologist they are content wiht less dramatic changes, just my opinion. JG 1.4.10
Answer: as much as I like Suzanne Sommers and her beliefs about hormones, I disagree with her about FaceMaster, save your money, the muslces in your face get plenty of activity to maintian tone from talking, chewing and all other facial moveemnts. Sorry. JG 1.4.10
Answer: I do no feel chemcial peels stimulate much collagen at all and would not have a chemical peel for that purpose. sorry. JG 1.4.10
Answer: don`t think too much of it and it likely will not do too much either, no matter what age. Sorry. JG 1.4.10
Answer: less effective. JG 1.3.10
Answer: the purple usually fades in 2-6 weeks, pinkness can take a couple of months in some people, should not be permanent. JG 1.3.10
Answer: maybe 2-6 weeks. JG 1.3.10
Answer: yup. JG 1.3.10
Answer: Omega 3 fish oils, alpha lipoic acid, N-Acetyl cysteine, and Co-enzyme Q 10 to start, all oral, topically I suggest my cell peptide matrix cream on my shopping cart or Retin-A. JG 1.3.10
Answer: wait ten minutes. Might suggest a microdermabrasion a few days before for a helathy glow. All the best to you. JG 1.2.10
Answer: it can take 4-6 months for the final results from that to be evident. Not much to do except wait. All the best for the New Year. Glad I have been of assistance. JG 1.2.10
Answer: Retin-A. JG 1.2.10
Answer: thin skin is a relative term, it is decriptive only, Retin-A thins the epidermis, which is good, but helps build the dermis, which is also good. JG 1.2.10
Answer: it is a good cleasner, good make up removal, not much else though. The smoothness is the even removal of the already dead skin that would fall off on its own in time. Certainly clean skin allows better penetration of any cream though. JG 1.2.10
Answer: Life Extension foundation products are good. JG 1.2.10
Answer: yes, you can as to the Retin-A and Vitamin C, the moisturizer will nor help but can be applied over the others if you wait a few monutes first. JG 1.2.10
Answer: I suggest trying to use squalene as amoisturizer, sold at health food stores, the milia risk should be small. Best of luck. Happy New Year. JG 12.31.09
Answer: neither one of those products will cause new scars to form, but I do suggest a 3 month break every year to avoid the constant irritation. JG 12.30.09
Answer: might want to see an aesthetician or dermatologist, the reason for the pore is there is still some oil stuck down deep in the pore and the pore cannot close. Microdermabrasion might help too. JG 12.29.09
Answer: nothing permanent, but microdermabrasion and IPL lasers help, along with Retin-A. JG 12.29.09
Answer: nope. JG 12.28.09
Answer: at this point the only thing I suggest is a microdermabrasion, best of luck. JG 12.28.09
Answer: I always suggest a 2-3 month break yearly to avoid the constant irritation which is not good. JG 12.28.09
Answer: Vitamin C and Retin-A maybe.JG 12.28.09
Answer: it certainly could have aggravated what was likely going to happen anyway. Might use an IPL or a YAG laser to get rid of them.Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: no need to change if all is going well. I think adding a good sunblock is essential too. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.21.09
Answer: I think it can help the pigmentation, but no matter what you do to make it less, it will always come back in time. In sensitive skin the treatments cannot be as strong so they are less effective too. I never do glycolic acid peels over 30% becasue the safety factor goes away and the risks are too high. I think verly low concentrations of fading creams like hydroquinone or kojic acid are about all you will likely be able to tolerate I would say. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: to the best of my knowledge it should be OK, but I am not sure there are any studies to document their compatability. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: thanks for the personal response of success. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: no studies to show make up would cause lung cancer at this time. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.20.09
Answer: normal and might be swollen for a week to 10 days. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Properous New Year. JG 12.18.09
Answer: I still have two tips left! You are very kind to come back so often and I appreciate your compliments, I hope I have given you good information these years. I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and a Prosperous New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: 1 syringe in most cases is 1cc, correct, and it would take that, at least for both cheeks, and maybe more. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: might need more Botox is all. If it is nerve irritation it should get better slowly over time. As to my skin, I use my Cell Matrix peptide cream, but I have oily skin and that helps.Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: likely no improvement for the railroad tracks with topcial agents, it might be a matter of a plastic surgeon cutting the scars out entirely and closing them with sutures below the skin to avoid the recurrence of the problem. After ten years the topcial things to blend the discoloration will probably not work, might get some improvement though from an IPL or a YAg laser though. Best of luck. Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year. JG 12.17.09
Answer: sorry about that, I have a call in to our webmaster to correct it as it was there a week ago, in the meantime you can call the office and they can help you out over the phone, again I apologize. JG 12.16.09
Answer: we added some more to it and now it is called Cell Matrix peptide.Sorry. JG 12.16.09
Answer: lasers are the easiest and least scarring potential. JG 12.10.09
Answer: I think if you are having no visible stabilization of the aging appearace of the skin, I would stop the Retin-A. The effects of Retin-A improvement tops out at 12 months, and continued use is only maintaining that, at best. I will say that no cream works on 100% of people and I am a believer in taking a 2-3 month break from all retinoids once per year. In your case I might suggest some DMAE cream, there are certainly other options besides Retin-A, most are non-prescription, I have some on my shopping cart. Thank you for the kind words and I wish you all the best. JG 12.10.09
Answer: there are heated eyelash curlers that might work better. JG 12.9.09
Answer: works pretty well for the red and there can be some slight skin lightening if you are sun damaged. JG 12.9.09
Answer: sorry, but I have none, sorry. JG 12.9.09
Answer: squalene oil or emu oil. JG 12.8.09
Answer: it is mostly used after acute injuries such as burns, it is not something I suggest long term because it can plug pores, if you have not had that problem though, there is no reason to think it would strat plugging pores now if it has not done so in the past. The absorption of Aquaphor is minimal, it is not meant to be used as a daily moisturizer. JG 12.7.09
Answer: can try Cetaphil also, a little lighter. JG 12.7.09
Answer: I would not spend my money on it. Sorry. JG 12.7.09
Answer: I would avoid the Retin-A if possible for fear of aggravating the broken blood vessels. JG 12.4.09
Answer: a phenol chemical peel. JG 12.4.09
Answer: deep aggressive laser treatments can at times. The strongest would be a totally ablative CO2 laser. JG 12.4.09
Answer: might need to increase the Retin-A to 0.1%. If that does not work, then an IPL or a YAG laser or chemical peel might help and then continue with the crease afterwards, best of luck. JG 12.4.09
Answer: either a CO2 laser, or surgery. JG 12.4.09
Answer: thee exact mechanism of action of azelaic acid is not known. The following in vitro data are available, but their clinical significance is unknown. Azelaic acid has been shown to possess antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The antimicrobial action may be attributable to inhibition of microbial cellular protein synthesis. A normalization of keratinization leading to an anticomedonal effect of azelaic acid may also contribute to its clinical activity. Electron microscopic and immunohistochemical evaluation of skin biopsies from human subjects treated with Azelex® Cream demonstrated a reduction in the thickness of the stratum corneum, a reduction in number and size of keratohyalin granules, and a reduction in the amount and distribution of filaggrin (a protein component of keratohyalin) in epidermal layers. This is suggestive of the ability to decrease microcomedo formation. JG 12.3.09
Answer: in the short term it can cause more oil as it tends to dry the skin and the skin will revolt and try to moisten itself, but eventually that all gets better. Any cream can potentially plug pores so they almost all say that as a risk issue. Having said that, without knowing what you were prescribed the cream for, there can be other factors involved, like mild Rosacea for instance. JG 12.3.09
Answer: they put that in the precautions because any cream can potentially do that, it happens to a small amount of patietns, the major cause for the plugged pores is the skin`s own oil production and not the topical cream. I think it will be a matter of trial and error for you I am afraid. JG 12.2.09
Answer: it can do that at the begining, I suggest continuing its use. It can make skin oily because it dries the skin and your skin tries to fight the dryness. Any topical agent for acne can in the short run make skin more oily but the majority of the time it gets better and less oily with time. JG 12.2.09
Answer: well, it might help the acne, but then you likely need a second form of birth control, the topical agents like Retin-A are effective in controlling acne but do cause temporary skin irritation that in most cases, after 6 weeks, gets better. JG 12.2.09
Answer: IPL or a YAG and microdermabrasion, along with complete sun avoidance, use of Retin-A and hydroquinones also. All the best. JG 12.2.09
Answer: VBeam is more effective but has a little higher risk profile, especially in darker skinned people. I would start with the YAG, and remenber, they will all come back in time. JG 12.2.09
Answer: genetic predisposition and then the progressive aging process stretching the tissues between the eyelid muscles and the cheek pad, allowing a fluid accumulation in the area inbetween. JG 11.30.09
Answer: I am not a big fan of people doing chemcial peels on themselves, I think you should see someone at a doctor`s office or a medispa to be sure everything is done properly. JG 11.30.09
Answer: it is localized swelling between the eyelid muscles and the cheek muscles and creams do not help. JG 11.29.09
Answer: if you are already using the Retin-A ther is no need to put anything on top with anti aging properties. JG 11.28.09
Answer: sounds like you are describing a festoon, it can be very difficult if no impossible to remove it. JG 11.28.09
Answer: well, although peopel that place eye lash extensions say it does not cause harm, I have seen enough women lose their lashes that I feel that there can be damage, if the hair follicle of the lashes is injured, the lash will not grow back. JG 11.28.09
Answer: while in the irritation phase yes, but that should get better, might need to decrease the concentration until you can tolerate it better. That is the trade off for the positive effects. I think Strivectin is not worth the money, personally. JG 11.27.09
Answer: all agents that work by chemical exfoliation will have the same effect. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. JG 11.27.09
Answer: all normal, may want to go to every other night until you skin gets accustomed to it. JG 11.27.09
Answer: no personal experience with that product. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner as I was with family for dinner. JG 11.27.09
Answer: yes, I have, it is a good forceful cleanser, but not much different than a facial scrub sponge, it is just that it has a timer so you know how long you have cleansed for. I wish you the best for the Thanksgiving Day too. JG 11.25.09
Answer: OK as long as you wait at least ten minutes after the tretinoin before applying the jojoba. Tretinoin is drying and the penetration is not enhanced by the jojoba. JG 11.25.09
Answer: well, without seeing a person face to face and having a complete history, there are going to be limitations on any advice that can be given, if you are disappointed with respsonses, the solution is actually simple, don`t came back to this site and seek your answers elsewhere. The fact of the matter is that in many cases, the advice is repetitive because the recommendation are the same. JG 11.24.09
Answer: I would suggest stopping the Elocon as it will not help the redenss, and might make it worse, just give it time and let your body heal itself, use a good moisturizer and also complete sunblock to help the redness fade. JG 11.23.09
Answer: well, it does work, just not as well or as quickly. It is difficult to say how long it would take, but I will say that the longer the spots have been there, the longer it takes to get better, and it will not remove all of the spots and is not permanent, no matter what technique or product is used. JG 11.21.09
Answer: we no longer offer spa type services in our office, so I never use it any longer. We normally start with Retin-A and if the patient desires we refer them out for some microdermabrasion. JG 11.21.09
Answer: they have ingredients that cause bloating and inflammation. JG 11.21.09
Answer: they assist in the healing after an acute injury.I have nto found them to be benficial unless there is an acute injury like a burn or a laser, chemicla peel, not for routine daily use I feel. Sounds like I would go with a series of IPL first to treat the telangiectasias and dialted pores, the CO2 will agggravate those two issues. The downtime you describe for the CO2 is about right, yes. I agree, the derms and plastic surgoens seem to go for the haute couture stuff instead of the true classics that are tried and true. This is not fashion though, effective treatments do not change with the seasons. Best of luck. JG 11.19.09
Answer: pure Omega 3 without he Omega 6 is much better.JG 11.20.09
Answer: I would do a totally ablative C02 laser for maximum effect or a Rhytec Portrait for a lesser effect. A CO2 laser, totally ablative can also be done for lighter cases. I am not a fan of ReFirme. JG 11.19.09
Answer: sounds good. JG 11.19.09
Answer: I think it is best to take a true Vitamin D3 oral supplement on its own.GNC or Nature`s Health are good. JG 11.19.09
Answer: you need to take Vitamin D3 along with the fish oils, there is not enough in them to give you what you need. As to the Omega 3 versus the cod liver oil, part of the aging process is due to inflammation. Slowing the aging process involves limiting inflammation, and cod liver oil has Omega 6 and 9 oils that increase inflammation. So with cod liver oil you get some good and some bad, and with the Omega 3`s you get none of the bad. JG 11.19.09
Answer: it could be used, yes, on a daily basis as a cleanser only. JG 11.19.09
Answer: likely none if you have sensitive skin. JG 11.18.09
Answer: my personal opinion is that it will dramatically reduce the excess bulge in your wallet, making you feel lighter immediately. JG 11.18.09
Answer: removing the waxy layer of skin and helping to keep pores clean and smaller. JG 11.18.09
Answer: slightly. JG 11.18.09
Answer: it has some pro-inflammatory agents so I prefer the Omega 3`s alone. I see no need to use them both, one or the other. JG 11.18.09
Answer: the reason is oil is stuck in the bottom of the pore and does not allow it to close, the solutions are hydroxy acid facial cleansers, IPL sessions, and microdermabrasions. In some cases Retin-A can be added. JG 11.18.09
Answer: they are good for cholesterol in that they do not contribute to it rising. JG 11.18.09
Answer: small risk opf prolonged pale skin, and in very very rare cases a burn. JG 11.18.09
Answer: B vitamins, Omega 3 fish oils, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. JG 11.17.09
Answer: again, it all depends on how your skin responds. JG 11.17.09
Answer: maybe at the begining it can be done that way, but eventually once the superficial damage is gone, it might very well be to strong, so I disagree with their claim. It will not thin the skin but it can cause irritation and redness if overdone. JG 11.17.09
Answer: we no longer have spa offerings in our office so I do not have a company I can recommend, sorry. JG 11.17.09
Answer: Yes, wait about one hour and then its OK to apply. JG 11.17.09
Answer: both will thin the epidermis and thicken the dermis, which is good, I always suggest taking a 2-3 month break with those type products for safety sake. JG 11.17.09
Answer: if possible twice per day, if you are using both, apply the BP first and wait ten minutes before applying the DMAE. JG 11.17.09
Answer: it is the number of impacts that make the difference, so the longer you run for, in terms of distance, the worse it is because there are more steps, and it is the boucing up and down that makes the tissues stretch, a stairmaster or an elliptical trainer would be better as it decreases the jarring impact. Thank you also for the kind comments. JG 11.15.09
Answer: I would not use IPL on eyelids, but some doctors do it, I think it is dangerous. JG 11.14.09
Answer: you can use Retin-A but it will help only a small amount. You can do light CO2 laser peels, but that might last only a couple of years or so. JG 11.13.09
Answer: I guess I would perform the a peel first and then the IPL, the time interval depends on how the skin responds to the peel, I would not do the peel until the skin has healed. JG 11.13.09
Answer: they can be they are not very effective for anything, I do not perfom glycolic acid peels for the eyelids as I use it only for pigmentation problems and they do not exist on the eyelids. JG 11.13.09
Answer: I think it will need intermittent treatments with the laser to control it, a laser or a cream will never have it go away on a permanent basis, the only thing that will do that is having it cut out, sorry. JG 11.12.09
Answer: as long as it is 10% Vitamin C serum, no difference. JG 11.11.09
Answer: waste of time, no home units worth it, Vitamin C serum. JG 11.10.09
Answer: yes. JG 11.10.09
Answer: sorry but no experience with it. JG 11.10.09
Answer: I prefer Restylane. JG 11.10.09
Answer: just stay with the Tazorac. JG 11.10.09
Answer: sorry but I have never had a single patient try refissa. JG 11.10.09
Answer: nope. JG 11.10.09
Answer: just use Mederma or Scarguard afterwards. JG 11.10.09
Answer: it would likely take more sessions with the IPL to achieve similar results. JG 11.10.09
Answer: yes, all the same. Cost does not always refect a better product. JG 11.10.09
Answer: for normal skin 5.5 to 7.0 is OK. JG 11.9.09
Answer: well, neither peel is good for dilated blood vessels, they will both either leave them the same or make them worse, the effect on pores is short lived for both also. Salicylic acids are used more for pigmentation problems. I think at 20% you could likely use either the Lactic or glycolic, there is a difference and my preference is glycolic, but the difference is not a night and day thing. No peel is 100% safe for any skin, especially sensitive skin. JG 11.9.09
Answer: there is no laser I would recommnend for those veins, sorry. JG 11.9.09
Answer: impossible to tell but I would start with the 20% glycolic. JG 11.9.09
Answer: it can be peeled, but at lower concentrations, I would start with alpha hydroxy peels after a trial with Retin-A to see how your skin responds,I would start with alph hydroxy peels and I think the phyto correction will help the redenss but it is temporary. JG 11.9.09
Answer: I see no reason to perfrom both those peels on the same day except making more money for whomever is doing them. Doing them both increase the potential of skin injury as the layers of skin have been removed with the first peel and the second will be unpredictable. Doing them in an alternating fashion a few weeks apart is OK, but the beta will give you as much effect as the alpha so just skip the alpha.JG 11.9.09
Answer: well, it has the standard ingredients, but what they do not say is the concentrations of the ingredients and that is what will influence the effectiveness, sorry, wish I could tell you more. JG 11.8.09
Answer: pretty similar. JG 11.8.09
Answer: pretty similar. JG 11.8.09
Answer: we have a cream on our shopping cart that helps about 70% of patients. JG 11.8.09
Answer: I doubt it is from the benzoyl peroxide, it is moree likely from scar tissue from the break outs, the best option is to see if the surrounding area can be made lighter, it is nearly impossible to get scar tissue to get more pigmented and be even too. Best of luck. JG 11.7.09
Answer: any spray tan can do that, yes. I think as to avoidinng it in acne prone skin, it will be trial and error I am afraid. It is not the ingredients as much as the particle size and since it is essentially paint, it can plug pores. JG 11.6.09
Answer: I think seeing your doctor and getting a prescription for Retin-A and hydroquinone, mixing them together and applying them will give you a better result, and don`t forget the sunblock. JG 11.6.09
Answer: use the Clear and the sunblock. JG 11.6.09
Answer: yes, it takes time though with a Vbeam laser, give it some time, also need ot avoid any sunexposure until it has faded. JG 11.6.09
Answer: it is because the skin has gotten too dry, I suggest just adding a moisturizer and it should get better. JG 11.6.09
Answer: I think seeing a physician and getting some Retin-A and hydroquinone cream which are presriptions and using them will be your best bet. JG 11.6.09
Answer: yes, I would avoid that area for a bit until it has smoothed ut. I think the repair can take up to 6 months so give it some more time. JG 11.6.09
Answer: greater oil production and then inflamamtion causing them, can be improved by a low glycemic diet and Omega 3 fish oils in many cases. JG 11.5.09
Answer: no, it will not do that, it is OK and actually better to use it over the oily skin to help dry it out some. The Retin-A works but does not stop the aging process so the degree of improvement will slowly diminish with time. If you can tolerate the higher srength, I would say work up top 0.1%, I only have my patients take a 2-3 month break in the summer to avoid potential problems with the sun. JG 11.5.09
Answer: It did not strip the protective barrier on a long term basis, that regrows, but it can possibly have made the dermis thinner and the blood vesses are now closer to the top. Might suggest a YAG laser or a VBeam laser, they are much stronger and more effective. Doubt it will ever permanently go away, and since the skin gets thinner as we age, you will likely need intermittent treatments to keep it at bay, all the best. JG 11.5.09
Answer: I think many home testing sets do work well, worth a try. JG 11.7.09
Answer: no experience with it but worth a try and she needs to wash or shower after each swim session to remove all of the chlorine which is likely the culprit. JG 11.7.09
Answer: if the valve was replaced and he keeps a close eye on his medical condition he should be fine. All the best. JG 11.3.09
Answer: the claims of it superiority over Retin-A are inflated, it was actually never tested against Retin-A, only Renova, the study was done by the maker of Avage and the strength of the cream was higher than the strength of the Renova, another over-hyped, poorly studied product. Stick with the Retin-A. JG 11.3.09
Answer: Peptide or Retin-A, the Retin-A will irritate and dry the skin though,no Botox there. The peptide does go a long way, use it like butter on a bagel and not cream cheese, just a light layer. JG 11.2.09
Answer: would be helpful for the lines between your eyebrows but not so for the eyelid skin itself, we use it and Dysport quite a bit in our practice. The need to repeat depends on the patient but figure every 4-6 months or so. JG 11.2.09
Answer: all lash enhancing products only work while using them, although you cna usually decrease the frequency of use once they are better. If you want the Revitalash, you can call the office and the front office staff can help you. As to the make-up remover, Lancome Bi-Facil. JG 11.2.09
Answer: it is rare that I feel a toner is needed. I think OTC cleansers are fine, Oil of Olay, Lancome and Estee Lauder are all good. As to wrinkles for OTC, I think Oil of Olay is good. JG 11.2.09
Answer: I prefer RevitaLash, we do not sell Latisse in our office due to the potential side efects, one of those is permanently darkening your eye color. JG 11.1.09
Answer: blood is normal if small blood vessels are injured, no long term problem, might not get rid of the milia though if the pore was missed. I suggest you let a professional do it next time to be more accurate. JG 11.1.09
Answer: not all people get the milia, or small plugged pores so it is OK to continue if you are not having them. A dermatologist or a skin care specialist can open them for you, you can also apply warm moist heat and see if they open on their own in time. JG 11.1.09
Answer: room temperature and avoiding light is all that is needed, keeping it cooler it might casue the ingredients to seperate. JG 11.1.09
Answer: likely OK, no 100% guarantee though. JG 11.1.09
Answer: in gel caps at least 100mg, in dry capsules, twice that. JG 11.1.09
Answer: yes, any Retin-A wil be stronger. JG 10.31.09
Answer: no, retinols are Vitamin A derivatives as is Retin-A but Retin-A is much stronger. A retinol, no matter what the concentration will be stronger than any Retin-A, but that does not mean it is not effective, just less effective than the prescription strength Retin-A. JG 10.31.09
Answer: it will need to be a trial and error thing. The big difference is that it is a retinol, it not Retin-A so comparing concentrations between a retinol and Retin-A are not valid. JG 10.31.09
Answer: just use peptides but avoid things like hydroxy acids and the retinols, nothing that exfoliates. I would not use the retinols at all, you can use peptide creams or DMAE creams though.JG 10.31.09
Answer: sunlight, hormones, and even flourescent lights can make facial pigmentation darken and it wil lightne as the top layer of skin flakes off, using sunblock , even under those lights and using some fading agents is likley a good option. JG 10.31.09
Answer: I think it is a good product. L-Ascorbic acid is Vitamin C, yes. JG 10.30.09
Answer: you can have them all. JG 10.30.09
Answer: Omega 3 fish oils, Vitamin E and C, and alpha lipoic acid are all good for that. JG 10.30.09
Answer: if that is what you have just do not use it every day, maybe 2 to 3 times per week. JG 10.30.09
Answer: use the oil after, wait about ten minutes inbetween. JG 10.30.09
Answer: I think the peptide is fine in your case, it is not totally an age thing, it is a skin aging effect thing. My peptide cream, which I think is the best for the money, is on or shopping cart, non-prescription. Best of luck. JG 10.30.09
Answer: that is a personal choice, no way to tell, maybe years. JG 10.30.09
Answer: they are the tiny little creases in the skin seen on your skin when you are not aniamting your face or flexing any facial muscles. JG 10.30.09
Answer: I do not think it will stretch out out or cause any long term negative effects, stay safe. JG 10.30.09
Answer: they have not been tested on pregnanat women so I would suggest not using it. I would stop if you find out you are pregnant. JG 10.30.09
Answer: yes, 2-3 days. JG 10.30.09
Answer: I like to stop the retinols or Retin-A 2 to 3 days before any peel for fear that the penetration will be unpredictably deeper in order to avoid complications. JG 10.29.09
Answer: both the same if the concentration is the same.JG 10.28.09
Answer: I have never heard of that but it sounds like an allergic reaction, you should have it tested to make sure and stop using it until it is diagnosed. JG 10.28.09
Answer: save your money, no advantage to more traditional methods. JG 10.28.09
Answer: I think you likely do not need the peptide at present, maybe in the future. JG 10.28.09
Answer: just get a prescription for 4% hydroquinone and add it to what you are doing at present, the Triluma is just Retin-A mixed with hydroquinone and a steroid for inflammation. JG 10.25.09
Answer: peptides are of all types and forms, there are peptides that are used in skin creams that do help fight off the effects of the sun damage and help make more collagen. Typically their effects on redness are less effective but many due although they will not help broken blood vessels. They are usually applied twice pr day. JG 10.22.09
Answer: it will help some, it is a weaker form of Retin-A which was originally developed for acne. JG 10.22.09
Answer: they should get more under control from what I have seen as time goes on. JG 10.22.09
Answer: I perform punch elevations and also subcutaneous subcisions, but to be honest, they are not dramatic improvements. JG 10.22.09
Answer: OK to mix them. JG 10.19.09
Answer: I would use Retin-A and then progress to a light CO2 laer in that area, the healing period for the laser will be a couple of weeks before you can wear make up. JG 10.18.09
Answer: I think the Vitamin K is better at prevention than treatment as it helps the clotting of blood but not the break down of blood. I have not heard of skin irritation from Vitamin K creams but I personally never use them. JG 10.18.09
Answer: it will likely irritate your Rosacea I am afraid. JG 10.18.09
Answer: us the Retin-A and hydroquinone mixed togetther twice per day over the entire face after washing it, us the BP just over a recent breakout, apply the BP first. JG 10.16.09
Answer: likely need to use them both along with microdermabrasions and possibly IPL treatments too, the scars will be helped to some degree with the IPL, all the best. JG 10.16.09
Answer: use the BP, and retinols and microdermabrasison and IPL. JG 10.16.09
Answer: I think the Arnica would still likely help, yes. Not much else to do besides adding Bromelain, and time, no way to tell how long it can last either. JG 10.15.09
Answer: it is a cream, the ability to dissolve certain ingredients in certain amounts make a serum or a cream better in some cases. JG 10.13.09
Answer: You can try Mederma or ScarGuard but I am afraid it will be a mild improvement at best, lasers can be used at times but not in African-American skin I am afraid. JG 10.13.09
Answer: yes, it can certainly be used on the entire face and neck if desired. I think the Retin-A you are using should provide enough exfoliation and only use the blender if you have brown spots you are trying to reduce. I think a good facial cleanser, the Retin-a and blender at night and the peptide cream during the day followed by sunblock is plenty. You can back off of everything else. Best of luck. JG 10.12.09
Answer: from what I have seen, make up.I cannto tell you what the most effective method is because they are all pretty non-effective. JG 10.10.09
Answer: difficult to do as the options used for facial skin are not as effective for body skin, I suggest no more sun or tanning beds, exfoliation with hydroxy acid washes and creams, could also try hydroquinone but as I said, it is not as effective on the body as the face because the skin turnover rate is so much slower. JG 10.10.09
Answer: it is on your skin for such a short period of time I think it is fine to use. I am not aware of any negative effects from topical bergamont.JG 10.10.09
Answer: I see no way that it will work. JG 10.8.09
Answer: will help some but not as much or as fast as prescription hydroquinone. JG 10.8.09
Answer: I always tell patients to take three months off per year, preferably the summertime. I think the peptides do as well but do not help pigmentation as much. I think for the acne you can use topical benzoyl peroxide or oral antibiotics too. JG 10.8.09
Answer: neosporin and avoid any further exfoliation with hydroxy acids or such things. JG 10.6.09
Answer: I think if you are using the Retin-A and peptide already I suggest the Vitamin C. All the best. JG 10.6.09
Answer: the risk of cancer is small but exists, a shave biopsy might give you some information and should heal well. JG 10.5.09
Answer: sorry, but they only help with fine lines, not sagging skin. JG 10.5.09
Answer: I prefer Retin-A personally. The petechia will go away on their own but I like Arnica Montana as I feel that helps them resolve sooner if they are from injections, othwerwise the Arnica will not do much. JG 10.5.09
Answer: not reallly correctable with weight gain I am afraid, it is a skin issue and not a fat below the skin issues, Endermologie or VelaSmooth treatments help but only as long as you are having them done, otherwise, there is not much, sorry. JG 10.5.09
Answer: it will not help the redness nor Rosacea I feel. I like Obagi for skin discoloration, we do not use it for much else. JG 10.5.09
Answer: yes we have, we have switched the patients over to the peptide cream as the majority were happier with that and we were not selling as much of the DMAE cream. If you used the DMAE and were happy I think you will be at least as pleased if not happier with the peptide cream. That DMAE cream was made especailly for me so it is no longer available. JG 10.4.09
Answer: both in combination will help both those issues. I think for best effect retin-a should be added. JG 10.3.09
Answer: might be a litte irritating.JG 10.3.09
Answer: not realy much that wil help. You have very limited optiosn there. JG 10.4.09
Answer: yes, it targets collagen production of the skin, yes. As to radiance, that is going to be a problem because that comes from the formation of keratin on your skin, so for that you migth need IPL treatments that, will also likely help the Rosacea too. All topical acne products will aggravate your rosacea. JG 10.4.09
Answer: some peptides can help, all people respond differently though, it is a certain trial and error with the peptides. No pepetide will ever stop pimples. I feel our peptide cream is very good. JG 10.3.09
Answer: I am sorry but I have no way to answer that question for you. JG 10.2.09
Answer: for yoru face I like Oil of Olay, for the body, try some Curel or Cetaphil. JG 10.2.09
Answer: All retinoids, OTC or prescription can worsen Rosacea, the OTC retinols, if weak enough might not, but then the degree of improvement you get is commensurately less. There is no free lunch, sorry. JG 10.1.09
Answer: yes, it would help, even now. I have not sen it do any harm in the 15 years I have used it on patients. JG 10.1.09
Answer: 2-3 days at least. You can still use it on the areas that are not going to be waxed. JG 10.1.09
Answer: anything weaker will be weaker for mprovements and side ffects alike, might suggest a non-exfoliating cream or IPL sessions instead. JG 10.1.09
Answer: maybe start with Retin-A or my peptide cream first and see how it goes. JG 9.29.09
Answer: Botox and Retin-A to start. Not much OTC will be effective. JG 9.29.09
Answer: I would normally use a TCA peel for that, as to how it will take it depends entirley on what concentration is used, the side effects are that no matter what you use to fade the spots, they will always come back in time, and it is riskier in Asians and Hispanics. JG 9.29.09
Answer: it can be used for months. JG 9.27.09
Answer: I suggest a YAG laser or VBeam laser, best of luck. JG 9.25.09
Answer: I use copper peptides after laser peels or acute injuries only, my pepetide cream I use on non-injured skin. JG 9.25.09
Answer: the Renova will likely assist the peptide in penetrating better, but not the other way around. JG 9.25.09
Answer: I would stop using the Locaid and I have not found Retin-A to help eczema. Best of luck. JG 9.25.09
Answer: not really, unless you use Retin-A or other creams or a laser. JG 9.23.09
Answer: might want to try a YAG laser or a VBeam laser, you would need to call around to dermtology or plastic surgery offices to see who offers those treatments. Options may be limited in your small town I am afraid. All the best. JG 9.22.09
Answer: might need to speak to your dermatologist about Accutane is about all I can suggest, sorry. JG 9.22.09
Answer: I think the science behind those therapies is pretty small, I feel they are likely safe, but I doubt their effectiveness overall, I suggest giving it at least 3-5 days between that and the IPL. JG 9.21.09
Answer: should be OK to use you skin care regimen. It is hard to move the kenalog around if it is in the scar, if it is in the surrounding tissues, then it is easy to move, so follow your doctor`s advice as they injected it. JG 9.21.09
Answer: it is a good idea to stop for a few weeks a couple of times per year. You can switch to Cellex C when you are off the lactic acid products if you desire. JG 9.21.09
Answer: Retin-A and beta hydroxy acid skin peels. JG 9.21.09
Answer: no difference. JG 9.18.09
Answer: reasonable choice. JG 9.18.09
Answer: I do think they are good, Skinceuticals is pretty good. JG 9.17.09
Answer: well, if you eliminate the Obagi products that require a prescription, then I think Oil of Olay is a beter buy and just as good. JG 9.17.09
Answer: Oil of Olay, no personal experience with Thalgo, sorry. JG 9.16.09
Answer: no personal use, cannot say, sorry. JG 9.15.09
Answer: it will likely only help keep your pores clean, that`s about all. JG 9.15.09
Answer: Oil of Olay has a good moisturizer and it might take 4-6 weeks t get better, got to hang in there. JG 9.15.09
Answer: beta hydroxy acid peels or salicylic acid peels.JG 9.14.09
Answer: It is a medication so it needs to be absorbed first, and then the moisturizer or make up after, you need to wait at least ten minutes between the Vaniqua and the others, sorry for the confusion and thank you for the kind words. JG 9.14.09
Answer: yes, could be due to your facial cleanser or some material on your pillow or a cream you might be applying at night prior to bed. I do not think it is flouride related though. JG 9.12.09
Answer: different parts of the face have different amount of oil glands, that is why, try some Retin-A and alpha hydroxy face washes or see your dermatologist. JG 9.12.09
Answer: all normal and will all go away as your skin adjusts, it is part of the spot removal process. You can use a little moisturizer at night if needed. JG 9.11.09
Answer: doing and having everything right, and also having everything done to them right most likely. Genetics is the most important, yes. JG 9.09.09
Answer: it might get better over time, no way to tell, everyone responds differently. JG 9.09.09
Answer: well, there are downsides to the Accutane, you should see your dermatologist to see if it is worth using it again. I cannot say that the ritual break out period can be avoided. JG 9.09.09
Answer: could be from an old injury or from normal againg, lasers such as a YAG or VBeam might help get rid of it. I think sun exposure, smoking and genetics are the greatest influences over your skin. JG 9.9.09
Answer: I think it is good, btu I also think it is very overpriced, others like Oil of Olay are just as good for a fraction of the cost. JG 9.9.09
Answer: alternate nights on the application until your skin can become acustomed to it, it is a necessary part of the spot removal though. JG 9.8.09
Answer: UV spots are skin damage from the sun, there is no procedure that will remove all of the damage, and although you have been good with skin care of late, it is from many years of sun exposure. I think continuing your regimen is important and maybe adding some hydroquinone and a sunblock rather than sunscreen is a good idea. JG 9.8.09
Answer: yes, we use it all the time on the neck. I think stopping it once improved and either using it a couple of times per day or restarting after a few months is a good idea. JG 9.7.09
Answer: low dose for short periods of time is OK to use as it controls the irritation from the other ingredients, just cannot use it for long periods of time is all. Take a break after 3-6 months for a few months is a good idea. JG 9.7.09
Answer: noting over the counter, might need a laser like YAG, VBeam or IPL. JG 9.6.09
Answer: I think the Retin-A and the masks should do it, anything more is more irritating and not wise at this point. Congratulations too on the wedding. JG 9.5.09
Answer: all the B vitamins and E along with folate and a good protein source should help. JG 9.5.09
Answer: there are compounded concetrations of hydroquinone that are sold out of doctors` office that are real, they cannot be sold outside of a doctor`s office and in fact the doctor should have a pharmacy dispensing license to sell it, so it is likely OK to use. We use a compoundiing pharmacy as it is chepaer for the patient. JG 9.5.09
Answer: it is an exfoliator that helps with acne and fine lines, it can be used on olive skin, it is effective for both above indications. JG 9.4.09
Answer: everyone responds differetnly so there is no 100% answer, I personally feel Oil of Olay is a good line for the price. JG 9.4.09
Answer: I am not sure around the world but the Obagi products in the US need to be purchased in a doctor`s office, the Retin-A cream also needs a prescription. The person that sells it to you can give you all of the instructions. JG 9.4.09
Answer: little difference between those choices, also need sunblock and maybe some retinols topically in a cream or Retin-A. JG 9.3.09
Answer: I suggest no silicone be in the product. I think it will inhibit the percentage absorption of the active ingredients. JG 9.3.09
Answer: it is used in acne patients just like Retin-A but it is a different drug, same benefits for acne, no studies have shown its effectiveness for fine lines though. JG 9.3.09
Answer: awesome, glad things are better and thanks for visiting. JG 9.3.09
Answer: I assumed you were able to get the Obagi products as you had used them before, you would need to go to the place where you bought the Obagi before and they should be able to help you. I think the creams I mentioend should be enough for your needs. JG 9.3.09
Answer: yes, likely just the swelling, give it some time. JG 9.2.09
Answer: to a slight degree and then the remaining material builds a little tissue around it to plump it back up. Hard to say what percentage will go down because it depends over what size area it is injected. JG 9.2.09
Answer: yes, a prescription can be written and then filled by a compounding pharmacy. JG 9.2.09
Answer: almost impossible to remove surgically. Sorry. JG 9.2.09
Answer: use the Obagi Fader, and also the sunblock. A little Retin-A will also help to help maintain the skin as healthy as possible. JG 9.2.09
Answer: I am sorry but I have not had any patients that have used that product, sorry. JG 9.2.09
Answer: I seriously doubt it will last anywhere that long, should see a large decrease by 6 weeks thtough as the gel carrier dissolves. Nothing really will help it dissolve any faster, sorry. JG 9.1.09
Answer: yes, but since the flexing is for a shorter period of time it is likely not as bad. JG 9.1.09
Answer: just avoid the sun for a few weeks and it should all go away on its own. JG 8.31.09
Answer: I would do the Accutane first and then wait 6 months after that has stopped to do the YAG. I know of no alternatives to the Accutane as to oral control of acne. JG 8.31.09
Answer: SkinCeuticals is a good Vitmain C product and as to the lip plumpers, none at present that are really good. As long as the Vitamin C serum in the bottle is clear yellow it likely is OK to use. JG 8.31.09
Answer: it will not help the absorption but wil give a silicone sheet coating that fills in the wrinkles like Spackle and gives an illusion of smoother skin. I do not recommend their use. JG 8.31.09
Answer: it cannot do that, if anything it will cover the surface and slow the absorption. JG 8.30.09
Answer: one 6 oz glass should be enough. JG 8.30.09
Answer: peels or microdermabrasions will not help, might need a stonger laser like a YAG laser or a VBeam, laser. JG 8.30.09
Answer: almost impossible to prevent the initial break out. I normally tell patients not to get pregnaant for one year after stopping the Accutane. JG 8.30.09
Answer: that should be enough. JG 8.30.09
Answer: yes, just do not swallow it. JG 8.30.09
Answer: same ones, yes. JG 8.27.09
Answer: ideally use it twice per day if possible, and wait ten minutes betweeen the other creams, apply the Vaniqa over the others. JG 8.25.09
Answer: well I think either my dark circle cream or you could also try some Retin-A with a little hydroquinone if it is more brownish in color. Glad I have helped out. JG 8.24.09
Answer: masks are generally good, not much difference between them though, we are at present not working on one though, sorry. JG 8.17.09
Answer: there is little difference in the serums, I think honestly, for the money spent, as to OTC, I like Oil of Olay`s line, it is effective, not expensive and found almost everywhere. I personally use my peptide cream and we are working up a facial scrub. We also carry cream for dark circles and puffy eyelids at our office. I think my products are better than Oil of Olay`s but I like to give patients a choice. I have no financial interest in Oil of Olay. All the best. JG 8.16.09
Answer: good line,no better than many others out there though. Thanks for the kind words, and yes, you all teach me so much you will never know. JG 8.15.09
Answer: you are correct! As to the morning, put the blender on first, the others order will not matter much. JG 8.15.09
Answer: IPL fotofacial or microdermabrasion. JG 8.13.09
Answer: Differin does NOT have have Retin-A in it, it am not aware of any studies showing it has collagen producing capabilities. As to the SmoothBeam any effect it might have on pores, like all such effects, are shortlived.JG 8.12.09
Answer: I think applying vitamin E capsules is not a good idea as it can plug pores in the skin. JG 8.11.09
Answer: pretty similar but there is no published evidence that it is anything as effective as Retin-a has been proven to be. JG 8.11.09
Answer: most likely will not leave a scar in time. JG 8.10.09
Answer: the facail hair is really do the the predominace of dihydrotestosterone as their progesteroene decreases and the progesterone and testosterone compete for 5-alpha reducatase. In the case when the progesterone level drops, then there is more testoterone converted to DHT and therefore more facial hair. If you are a female with hair already and you take testosterone with taking progesterone it can potentially increase your facial hair. Best of luck. JG 8.10.09
Answer: should not but if it is applied in a cream and mixed it will dilute or weaken it. JG 8.10.09
Answer: I am sorry but not to the best of my knowledge. JG 8.9.09
Answer: about every 6 weeks or so. OK to do over fillers, yes. JG 8.8.09
Answer: sorry but no, have to wait for the skin to hopefully regain its normal thickness and then it should get better. JG 8.7.09
Answer: laser wil flatten them is about all I can offer, sorry. JG 8.7.09
Answer: I am not sure how they can make that claim. JG 8.7.09
Answer: OK to do as long as there is no irritation. JG 8.6.09
Answer: possibly but the L-ascorbic acid has more research to show its effectiveness compared to the others. JG 8.5.09
Answer: Silvadene is for acute burns and will not help the persistent redenss you have I am afraid. Wish I had more to offer. JG 8.4.09
Answer: might want to get some IPL sessions in the meantime to help fade the redness, they are available at many MediSpas, also called fotofacials. The treatments are usually done as a series so a single session in my office will likely not suffiice. If you desire to see me while here, please contact the office at(702)870-0058 and the ladies can help you with that. JG 8.3.09
Answer: I suggest at least 3 days before and 2-3 days after. JG 8.3.09
Answer: do not think it is worth using. I think retinols do help with the pores in most but not all cases. I think as to OTC products for wrinkles I suggest retinols, or plant growth factors. JG 8.1.09
Answer: do not think the damage will be of any significance. JG 8.1.09
Answer: avoid the pink skin as it will make the red worse, at least in the short term. JG 7.30.09
Answer: depends what is in it. JG 7.29.09
Answer: a skin cream with retinol and copper peptides but they do not say how much of each they have, judging by the price, likely not much. JG 7.28.09
Answer: oil of Olay is a good price and I suggest the Tazorac first, wait then minutes, then the serum. JG 7.28.09
Answer: I seriously doubt it is still swelling and I doubt that a steroid shot will help it too. JG 7.28.09
Answer: I would stop the toner but continue the Retin-A and hydroquinone and of course use sunblock.JG 7.28.09
Answer: it can happen, might need to speak with your doctor to see if they can change your medications for you. Best of luck. JG 7.27.09
Answer: the degree of migration would be almost impreceptible with real Restylane. Might be swelling if it is less than 10 days after the shots. JG 7.26.09
Answer: maybe a light YAG microlaser would be in order. JG 7.26.09
Answer: the doctor will determine the strength needed after looking at your skin, I think the Retin-A will help the fine lines and pigment, as to firmness and elasticity, those are very vague terms that lots of creams claim to help but since the the term is vague, the results are also vague. JG 7.26.09
Answer: Neutragena is good but all exfoliating cleansers or scrubs will aggravate the Rosacea, might want to use IPL as that will help both issues. JG 7.26.09
Answer: it could be called stronger, it is for more mature skin but can be used on younger skin, it is more effective in its overall effect on the skin. You can still buy it from Sandie, yes. Thanks for staying in touch. JG 7.24.09
Answer: used to reduce redness on the face. JG 7.24.09
Answer: helps induce some collagen formation, helps fade skin discolorations and helps close pores on a short term basis. It will not do what a Fraxel does as it is not as strong. JG 7.24.09
Answer: Kinerase is a good product, effective. In many cases, it is true that the degree of damage that patients come in with is already past the cream phase and surgery or lasers are needed. Sunblock is great for prevention but not for reversal. Sagging skin in particular will need a repositioning or removal with surgery, there is no skin cream that will lift or tighten loose skin. JG 7.23.09
Answer: they will help skin texture and fine lines but will not lift, plump or firm anything below the skin where fillers are used. I guess it depends entirely on how you define firmness which is truly a misnomer when it comes to skin, it relates more to the pressure upon squeezing, such as a mass or lump, not related to a flat surface, it is a marketing ploy as there is now way to really measure firmness of a flat item, like skin, it would be like saying a sheet of smooth paper is firm and a wrinkled sheet of paper is not firm. JG 7.21.09
Answer: sorry, none will do that, they only affect the skin at most. JG 7.21.09
Answer: they will likely last months to at most two years and they typically will cost abouy $10,000 if not more. Implants are longer lasting, yes. As to a dramatic improvement, not for everyone I am afraid. JG 7.21.09
Answer: I do not think it is any better than Oil Of Olay Regenerist for a fraction of the cost, but the jar is nicer! Thank you also for the kind words. JG 7.21.09
Answer: as far as OTC products, yes, it is a good product. JG 7.21.09
Answer: maybe IPL and sunblock. JG 7.20.09
Answer: well the pH you say is certainly alkaline, not sure why they call it an acidic water, but although keeping a slightly alkaline intake is good for digestion, it does not need to be that high and all you need to do is put some bicarbonate powder in water and drink it a couple of times per day, I am sure that will be cheaper. JG 7.20.09
Answer: at times the cream base it is in can decrease things, I would always go with the higher SPF. JG 7.19.09
Answer: decrease the Renova, yes. JG 7.19.09
Answer: I think the peptide cream will work as well as the Retin-A and as to the Ziana, the problem there is you do not need the antibiotic part of it and the concentration of the Retin-A in it is pretty low so likely not very effective for wrinkles, that product is intended to be used for acne. JG 7.18.09
Answer: no, it is not. I do not think acidic water will do anything good. JG 7.17.09
Answer: I think Botox will make it worse as weakening the muscle will allow the far pocket to sag more, at your age I really cannot imagine you need much, might have some fat pockets that are bulging due to congenital issues, might suggest a filler to hide the puffyness. JG 7.14.09
Answer: well, the more you apply at once the more diluted the serums become and you absorb less of them. If you want to use multiple serums, you need to wait at least 10-15 minutes in-between their applications to maximize their absorption, but it might stil be less than if you just applied one. JG 7.14.09
Answer: good product, just expensive to take in the doses studied. JG 7.12.09
Answer: it has no drugs in it like Latisse so no side efects on eye color and other eye prolems. JG 7.12.09
Answer: yes, I have used them, they are very good high quality products. JG 7.12.09
Answer: the second has more peptides but cannot say which will be better for yoru skin. That will be trial and error I am afraid. JG 7.12.09
Answer: I think it is a good product for its price. JG 7.12.09
Answer: we have someone that comes to our office to offer those services, if you call the office we can give you her contact information and she can more adequately answer your questions. JG 7.12.09
Answer: sorry, no personal experience. JG 7.12.09
Answer: it is OK. JG 7.11.09
Answer: an OK moisturizer. JG 7.11.09
Answer: whitening lotion first. JG 7.10.09
Answer: it can be aggravated by the friction, yes. When to get them removed depends on how much they bother you, they are not dangerous though. JG 7.10.09
Answer: The Vaniqua will likely do more than any laser for white hair. The cream needs to be continued for its effect to continue. Best of luck. JG 7.9.09
Answer: there would be much less chance but also much less improvement. JG 7.9.09
Answer: it can be a permanent problem that cna be improved for periods of time but will almost certainly recurr. I have seen it happpen with the microderm when they goo too strong. Typically Retin-A will not cause it unless there is almost a burn form overuse. JG 7.8.09
Answer: I would likely only use Retin-A and would shy away from the microdermabrasions as it can cause hyperpigmentation and will do little to improve the scars long term. JG 7.8.09
Answer: can try it but not sure how much it will do. Best of luck. JG 7.7.09
Answer: as to the electrolysis, what I have seen is that it leaves small darker spots. As to the Botox, I am afraid that any effect from that is shortlived and in time, as the Botox wears off, what was going to happen without the Botox still happens. As to the results from a scar excision and revision, it is all a matter of skin tension, if the skin is loose, it might leave a good degree of improvement. If it is tight upon closing the wound, then the result might look exactly the same as what you have at present. JG 7.1.09
Answer: I think a chemical peel alone will not correct all of that, and there are so many different types that I think you would need to be seen in person, sorry. JG 7.1.09
Answer: all that you mention will to some extent reverse some of the damage, but nothing will reverse it completly and nothing will stop it from aging in the future. JG 6.29.09
Answer: I would not recommend it and I think the only thing it will do is make your wallet flatter. JG 6.29.09
Answer: if the skin is loose, yes, as to the Botox, it is a waste of time as the Botox will wear off and what was going to widen will widen. As to the electrolysis, it might leave dark spots where the hair was. JG 7.1.09
Answer: I personally would not offer it to patients nor have it done on myself. JG 6.29.09
Answer: very mild effect, but yes. JG 6.29.09
Answer: essentially the same thing, just marketing. JG 6.29.09
Answer: it is a diffferent company and is not the smae product. I feel Dysport is better then Botox, it works faster and lasts longer. I will be switching my patients to Dysport as they come in. Best of luck.
Answer: might decrease wrinkles but can also make someone look bloated or too round, so no clear answer. JG 6.23.09
Answer: it has never been studied so I suggest not using it. JG 6.23.09
Answer: I would say yes to that. JG 6.23.09
Answer: yes, apply the Renova first and then wait ten minutes, and our cream is a peptide, but has no copper in it, I only use copper peptides when there is an acute injury, like a laser. JG 6.23.09
Answer: got it.
Answer: I normally do not use them together. JG 6.23.09
Answer: save your money. JG 6.23.09
Answer: you can continue those or switch to our peptide cream and sunblock of course, our peptide cream would take the place of all three. JG 6.23.09
Answer: I would go to a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist, yes. JG 6.21.09
Answer: I think 30% glycolic peels more than every 2-3 weeks might give short term improvement but not long term, your skin will become irritated, as to other peels, nothing will last very long, there is no long term control of large pores, sorry. I like IPL or microdermabarasions for the pores. JG 6.21.09
Answer: save your money, do you wonder why their cast-iron medica proof is nowhere to be found except in their claims. JG 6.21.09
Answer: it does not work, oxygen cannot be absorbed through the skin, if it could, it could also come out through the skin, and if it did that, you would die, the improvement was likely due to all else that was applied and a little wishful thinking, sorry. JG 6.21.09
Answer: Sorry for the delay in getting back but I was out of town, I think trying the Chella products is OK, just go slow to make sure they do not irritate your skin too much. Best of luck. JG 6.21.09
Answer: likely the peptide would be better. The alpha lipoic is good but it is hard to tolerate around the eyes. JG 6.21.09
Answer: the effects of Tazorac with that are implied as it is similar to Retin-A, but the long term effects of Tazoarac for wrinkles is not as well studied as for Retin-A. The gel and the cream would be equally effective if it is going to owrk for that. Best of luck. JG 6.21.09
Answer: I do not think either will affect the Restylane but I think waiting a few days between is best, as to microcurrent application, it might help tone the muscle but that is not the problem in aging faces, and more muscle flexion causes more wrinkles, that is why people use Botox, to get the muslce to flex less, not more. JG 7.1.09
Answer: a CO2 laser will help with the texture, or for milder cases just Retin-A. For the pores, Retin-A will help along with microdermabrasions and IPL, but the results for the pores is short-lived, it needs to be kept up. JG 6.12.09
Answer: hard to say how to treat it without seeing you in person and knowing what it is or what is the cause, sorry. JG 6.10.09
Answer: can be placed on the wound after the sutures are removed but its effects are not seen in all patients. JG 6.11.09
Answer: IPL an microdermabrasions. JG 7.1.09
Answer: appply the Retin-A first, wait ten minutes, then the other creams on top of it. As long as you wait about ten minutes after the peptide cream to apply the sunblock, it is OK. JG 6.10.09
Answer: it is the same, the cell matrix is the new one with the penetrator for added absorption. JG 6.8.09
Answer: microdermabrasion, OK, microcurrent no. JG 6.8.09
Answer: at your age you likely just need sunblock and a moisturizer. JG 6.8.09
Answer: I think it is overkill for someone your age, and Tazorac is likely also overkill but can be used in acne prone skin. JG 6.8.09
Answer: Retin-A. JG 6.8.09
Answer: CO2 laser is what I would recommend. Best of luck. JG 6.8.09
Answer: could try a copper peptide cream too but as you have not used it, there is a very small risk of you not tolerating it. JG 6.8.09
Answer: it will correct but using a good moisturizer that you know you are not allergic to will certainly help. JG 6.8.09
Answer: some people do become refractory to some creams and switching around is not a bad idea in those cases. I suggest taking a break whenever you see the improvements have leveled off, in the case of Retin-A I suggest three months per year off due to the irritation, but no need to wait that long with the peptide cream as there is no irritation. JG 6.7.09
Answer: I am sorry, but only time. JG 6.7.09
Answer: save your money. JG 6.6.09
Answer: you only need to use the Retin-A if you have some brown spots, otherwise you do not need it, glad it is working well for you. JG 6.6.09
Answer: very mild therapy, nothing dramatic, needs continued treaments. JG 6.6.09
Answer: my peptide cream on my shopping cart. JG 6.6.09
Answer: 2-3 weeks or so. All the best. JG 6.5.09
Answer: yes, twice daily is better. JG 6.5.09
Answer: they have been absorbed and whatever their effects might be they will stil be working as by then they have been absorbed inside the cell. JG 6.5.09
Answer: potentially the same. JG 6.3.09
Answer: I am sorry but I do no have any good solutions. Sorry. JG 6.2.09
Answer: yes, second opinion time. Locoid is used for allergic reactions or dermatitis and you do not have that. JG 6.1.09
Answer: have him give you some antibiotics, stop the injections and stop the cream, they will cause more harm than good, like broken blood vessels in the skin and tissue atrophy that can lead to dents in the skin. Best of luck. JG 6.1.09
Answer: Retin-A will help, and Boox can also in small doses. JG 6.1.09
Answer: never had any patient use it, cannot say, sorry. JG 5.31.09
Answer: none that are reliable. JG 5.31.09
Answer: should be OK to use both. JG 5.31.09
Answer: I think all sounds reasoanble to try, but do not forget the sunblock. Best of luck. JG 5.31.09
Answer: I would suggest you use a different prodcut duer to the side effects of Latisse.JG 5.30.9
Answer: Fallene Total Block. JG 5.28.09
Answer: Retin-A for the collagen, I do not think those products should hurt your eyelashes. JG 5.27.09
Answer: I do not think there is one that is better than the rest, all pretty similar. JG 5.27.09
Answer: the new one has a penetrator that helps it absorb quicker, otherwise all the same. The tacky feeling is part of the penetrator but should go away in time so you can apply make up easily and not rub the active ingredients off. JG 5.27.09
Answer: YGA laser or VBeam laser. JG 5.27.09
Answer: CO2 is much stronger and for more sever wrinkling correction. JG 5.27.09
Answer: as long as they are done lightly they can be safe. The problem is that light ones might not be enough to correct the melasma. That is an extremely difficult problem to correct in hispanic skin. JG 5.24.09
Answer: fillers will not fill in stretched ear lobes, they need surgery. JG 5.24.09
Answer: toners do not have any antiaging effects, sorry. JG 5.24.09
Answer: please repeat your question.JG 5.23.09
Answer: as small an amount to cover the face is all. JG 5.23.09
Answer: nothing bad would happen. JG 5.23.09
Answer: I prefer Retin-A. JG 5.23.09
Answer: it helps in many cases. JG 5.23.09
Answer: I think Retin-A will likely aggravate Rosacea and Rhinophyma in many cases, but not in all. Under no circumstances will Retin-A ever improve broken spider veins. JG 5.22.09
Answer: sorry, have not had anyone I know use them. JG 5.20.09
Answer: sunblock and not sunscreen, and the sunsblock always goes on last, over the peptide cream and you should wait ten minutes in between the peptide and the sunblock. Most sunblocks and sunscreen have enough of a moisturizer that an additional moisturizer is not needed on top. JG 5.20.09
Answer: sorry, have not had any patients use them. JG 5.21.09
Answer: 2-3. JG 5.20.09
Answer: it will be very temporary at best. JG 5.20.09
Answer: sorry but no surgery for that. JG 5.19.09
Answer: yes, all in due time, glad all is getting better. JG 5.19.09
Answer: OK to use that way. JG 5.19.09
Answer: I think you should use SPF of 50 at least. JG 5.19.09
Answer: neuropeptide cream. JG 5.19.09
Answer: OK for you to use it, I think in general it helps maintain your skin and stabilizes cell membranes along with enhancing your skin`s ability to replenish itself, no harm in using it a younger age, still need your sunblock though. JG 5.16.09
Answer: no, it will not counteract the absorption but does give the skin a very temporary feeling of smoothness which helps the sales. JG 5.16.09
Answer: I prefer Retin-A. JG 5.16.09
Answer: might suggest my peptide cream, sold on my shopping cart, it casues no irritation. JG 5.15.09
Answer: will not help fade a brown spot, sorry, you need something like hydroquinone or Retin-A. JG 5.15.09
Answer: might take a few days for the rash to go away, you can use benadryl cream too. JG 5.14.09
Answer: either Retin-A or my peptide cream.
Answer: that will be hard because the pores are due to plugged oil deposits deep inside and the things that help, like microdermabrasions and Retin-A will irritate your skin. JG 5.12.09
Answer: 6X. JG 5.11.09
Answer: should not cause any damage. JG 5.11.09
Answer: yes, OK to alternate. I cannot comment on why your skin got thinner, at the begining as it exfoliates the skin will flake off, and certain areas like eyelids are very sensitive, but the long term effect is dermal thickening. As to the percent absorbed by the skin, it depends on the product, commonly it can be quite higher and the amount absorbed also depends on where on the body it is applied. I suggest Retin-A be used for 9 months and then take a three month break. JG 5.11.09
Answer: should close on its own and fill in with time, I would not consider doing anything for it except keeping it clean and applying neosporin for now. JG 5.8.09
Answer: almost all baby creams have no irritants. JG 5.8.09
Answer: would not recommend it, expensive for a so-so product, lots of hype though. JG 5.7.09
Answer: yes, I think her credentials are purchased, not earned. I think repeating a treatment that did not work the first time is likely not going to work any better the second or third time. Seek professional help from a dermatologist next time. JG 5.6.09
Answer: do not think it is worth it. JG 5.6.09
Answer: yes, the damaging rays go right through the clouds I am afraid. JG 5.6.09
Answer: think it is worth a try and as long as you use your sunblock all the time I think worsening of the melasma should be controlled. JG 5.6.09
Answer: you can use my peptide cream either instead of the Retin-A or use the Retin-A first and then apply the peptide over it if desired. The peptide cream can be used under your foundation also. JG 5.5.09
Answer: I am sorry but I am not familiar with those products and I think sunblock and a moisturizer would be nice, or take a break from the Retin-A and try our peptide cream instead. JG 5.5.09
Answer: as long as you wear sunblock you should be OK. JG 5.5.09
Answer: more likely the brand, they probably have some irritants or exfoliants in it. I would suggest using squalene oil from the health food store until the skin hels. As to peptides, everyone responds differently depending on their skin so there is no one single one better than others. JG 5.5.09
Answer: I recommend my peptide cream on my shopping cart and if desired the Retin-A can be applied first and the peptide over it. JG 5.5.09
Answer: I cannot say whether she will do it again free of charge, that is up to the doctor. Unless the moles are cut out and you trade them for a scar there is always the possibility that in time they will grow back, no way to predict how long that would take though. It is unusual for them to grow back worse than what they were. JG 5.4.09
Answer: it should completely disappear, yes. JG 5.3.09
Answer: yes, we still have some of the older one here. I am going to be making some container size changes for the new one though after further negotiating with the manufacturing company so we will be offering the new peptide cream in the same 1 oz container at the same price as the old one, I just had to do some arm twisting. JG 5.1.09
Answer: it will help some, yes but it tends to be a little irritating as that skin is quite thin, thanks for the kind words too. JG 4.30.09
Answer: in general they are very pleased, we now have the newer formulation with liposomes to increase delivery, thye feel the skin feels and looks smoother without the irritation and sun sensitivity experienced with Retin-A. I have some people that use both, applying the Retin-A first and then the peptide cream in an attempt to get better penetration of the peptide cream but it is for the most part not necessary to do that. JG 4.30.09
Answer: not likely to work well, but if you were going to try it, it is called hydroquinone, it is a prescription. JG 4.30.09
Answer: 5%, 1 ounce.JG 4.30.09
Answer: it is due to the skin being thin and the effects of Retin-A come from skin irritation, that is normal and will get better with time and continued use, You can use a moisturizer over if if you wait 10-15 minutes first. JG 4.30.09
Answer: the one sold on my shopping cart. JG 4.30.09
Answer: well, the thing is if it does work, it will be a drug so it will be years, there are lots of OTC creams out there that make those claims but the science behind it is scarce and if it were true it would be classified as an unapproved drug and taken off the market. JG 4.29.09
Answer: in general they have been very happy, and an even better response from the new formulation. JG 4.29.09
Answer: those peptides, but there are so many new peptides that are being developed that the amount of research and the years of experience with them is short. The peptides I have placed have some research, yes, it is short lived, but we have been having good response with our cream, I am constantly tweaking the formula is the issue, so what we sell now is I feel differnt yet likely better than the older one, the product is in constant evolution. JG 4.29.09
Answer: it might, might also need a bleaching cream like hydroquinone to help fade it and you also should be using sunblock too. Should not be permanent though. It is reactive hyperpigmentation from the irritation, it does not have to burn to cause that. JG 4.29.09
Answer: there is no definitive answer for that question I am afraid, they are both heavily promoted and ther is a small amount of study of each, but I cannot say one is any better than the other, sorry. Glad you like my little cream too. JG 4.29.09
Answer: TNS skin care is a long standing skin care company that has a new made-up name of Nouri-cell MD that is claimed to be a group of growth factors, but they have no studies on it and do not disclose the ingredients. Kinerase has growth factors and it is a good cream, but it is hard to say about Nouri-cell at present. JG 4.28.09
Answer: could take up to one year. We do perform YAG laser treatments. JG 4.28.09
Answer: yes, OK to do so. JG 4.28.09
Answer: everyone responds differently, you can try it and see. JG 4.28.09
Answer: yes, all topicals that will help lighten it will require a prescription, anything less than that will likely not work at all. JG 4.27.09
Answer: probabaly TriLuma which is a retinol and hydroquinone mixed together, but topical lightening creams do not have a dramatic effect on birthmarks, YAG laser might be more effective. JG 4.27.09
Answer: a punch excision is where a round punch cut is made and sutured closed, if a float is done, then the center of the punch is not removed but pulled up flush to the surface of the surrounding skin and then sutured in place. If the scar is small then an excision is best, if it is wider, then a float is better. We do perform that type of surgery, yes. JG 4.27.09
Answer: no, the peptide is enough of a moisturizer. Still need sunblock though. JG 4.27.09
Answer: the more the skin damage, the more you should use it, so if mild at night alone, if worse, then twice daily. The eye booster will not be needed if you are using the peptide there already. JG 4.27.09
Answer: the lasers work by irritating the veins so they clot, that is the normal response. It can still heal and will heal more over time. Laser treatments commonly make it look worse in the short term though, and it usually requires a series, not a single treatment. JG 4.27.09
Answer: yes, they can be used on toop of the filler, no problem there. The bruising will not be affected for better or worse with my creams. JG 4.26.09
Answer: the redness is normal, as to how flat they are, there might still be some swelling present. You might need further treatments though. JG 4.26.09
Answer: since a facial wash is on your face for so short of a period of time its long lasting effects are almost none, but it will irritate your skin more than one closer to your normal skin pH. JG 4.25.09
Answer: they are meant to be injected for different things so I think in many cases you can use them both, they are not interchangebale as some docotrs promote. Sculptra is for deeper tissue loss and Radiesse is for more superficial injections. JG 4.25.09
Answer: yes, in many caases it can. JG 4.25.09
Answer: just pretreat before and use sunblock after and you should be OK with the setting suggested. JG 4.24.09
Answer: I do perfrom punch excisions and in many cases will laser the skin after that, rarely does punch alone take care of the problem. JG 4.24.09
Answer: I think it would be low risk, just pretreat with some hydroquinone for two weeks before if you desire. JG 4.24.09
Answer: there is no single cream that will treat all of your concerns, we have a cream that helps reduce the dark circles and another one for the fine lines without Retin-A but for the puffiness, there is not much that is very effective. The creams are on the shopping cart of this website. JG 4.23.09
Answer: likley, yes. JG 4.23.09
Answer: they are from the skin folding when the eye blinks or closes, fillers there can look lumpy and creams such as Retin-A will likely help some, yes. JG 4.23.09
Answer: likely too oily for that, better to use a cream with Vitmain E in it if you want to use that, but the prevention of fine liens with Vitamin E is is small at best. JG 4.23.09
Answer: 5.5 pH. JG 4.23.09
Answer: topical Efudex cream, I think you should see a dermatologist though first to make sure none need a biopsy before you start. JG 4.22.09
Answer: maybe a YAG laser or VBeam laser will help fade the redness. Best of luck. JG 4.22.09
Answer: I would say at least two weeks and then you cannot restart until the breast feeding is over. There have not been, not will there ever be any studies done on pregnant females and skin creams so the rule of thumb is anything with Retin-A, retinols, retinaldehydes or things like Retin-A should certainly be avoided, all other irritants like alpha hydroxy glycolic aicds, no one knows. JG 4.22.09
Answer: pretreat with hydroquinone for 2-4 weeks before and again after and it should decrease the risk of hyperpigmentation. JG 4.22.09
Answer: not sure what prodcut they are referring to in order for me to say. I think there are many things that can be taken orally or topically that can induce some changes. JG 4.22.09
Answer: soy will not have hormones, but I think what thay are telling you is not true, think about it, male cows might have testosterone, but they are called bulls and do not produce milk. Female cows are the ones that produce milk and giving them male hormones would stop their ability to produce milk as you need female hormones of pregnancy to produce milk and not male hormones, not what a dairy farmer wants to do. JG 4.21.09
Answer: maybe baby products. The Retin-A will aggravate the redness and veins quite a bit, could consider some IPL laser treatments to control it too. JG 4.21.09
Answer: the honest truth is I do not, I do not advise tanning, sorry. As to self tanners, I have seen nice results with Clairins. JG 4.21.09
Answer: self tanners are safer than a real sun tan, just remember to wear your sunblock on top of it. JG 4.21.09
Answer: it could be, it can also be part of the normal aging process. Usually Thermage fat loss starts to show in the first few months though, not this late. JG 4.21.09
Answer: sorry, but it will not help your scenario. JG 4.21.09
Answer: as you would expect, no skin cream firms body skin, if the skin is damaged from a recent sun exposure, it might help hydrate is about all you are going to get. JG 4.20.09
Answer: cannot say as I cannot find out what the ingredients are. JG 4.20.09
Answer: usually the scalp heals well and the residual should be almost imperceptible. JG 4.20.09
Answer: not sure you can get more of it to dissolve evenly in the cream and more is not necessarilly better. JG 4.18.09
Answer: I am sorry but I do not recommend Levulan for the treatment of wrinkles, it is an attempt to take two products to improve skin texutre but it removes all of the safety margins that each product has and nas never been approved by the FDA for that application. JG 4.18.09
Answer: I normally use Restylane. The potential side efects would be short term bruising and lumps if too much is deposited. JG 4.18.09
Answer: I have no personal experience of a patient that has used it, sorry. JG 4.18.09
Answer: I think pre and post IPL or YAG laser treatments will help and the laser treatment will never work after one session, it is a series, so be prepared. JG 4.16.09
Answer: sunblock, can also use Mederma or ScarGuard, but it can take up to one year to fade to its maximum. JG 4.16.09
Answer: I think the evidence for the effectiveness of Prevage is very slim, I suggest maybe a Vit C serum along with sunblock of course. You can use the Retin-A under the Prevage, yes. As to a moisturizer, if you can avoid it at night so as to not dilute the Retin-A effects, that would be best, I do not think Relastin is any better than many less expensive ones, so that is why I said that, Oil of Olay or others are just as good for less money. I suggest the three month break from the Retin-A because there is evidence out therre that continued skin irritation can lead to accleration but not cause of superficial skin cancers. JG 4.16.09
Answer: skip the Relastin and Prevage and use the Retin-A twice daily. JG 4.16.09
Answer: I have not been impressed with the results in people who have used it. JG 4.15.09
Answer: they are different produucts, the peptide is for more mature skin, they are both in a 1 oz container. Neither will fix sagging skin though, no cream will do that honestly. Our DMAE is 5%. JG 4.14.09
Answer: I think it best to get it checked out by a dermatologist to make sure it is not something that needs a biopsy. JG 4.14.09
Answer: well, I will be honest, there have not been any studies I am aware of that have been done on pregnant females, so I cannot say 100% for sure. JG 4.13.09
Answer: I figured.
Answer: too early to tell, btu most likely you stil have lots of swelling and they wil get flatter than they are at present, hang in there. JG 4.13.09
Answer: Retin-A will be the most effective, best of luck. JG 4.13.09
Answer: hard to find out what the ingredietns are but prescription hydroquinoen is likely much stronger and more effective for a fraction of the price. 4.13.09
Answer: might be, only trial and error will tell. JG 4.12.09
Answer: I personally feel that hyaluronic acids in topical creams does not work, it is not absorbed through the skin and they are just trying to capitalize on the hyaluronic acid fillers effects and trying to let pateints think it works the same way. JG 4.12.09
Answer: likely not enough in there to see a result. JG 4.12.09
Answer: not things like Retin-A or retinols for safety. JG 4.12.09
Answer: there are no studies documenting the safety of any of those drugs while pregnant, but I will say that usually acne gets better while pregnant as the hormones help settle it down. JG 4.10.09
Answer: the danger is in the tissues in the fetus that are developing and are much more susceptible to things than adults are. JG 4.10.09
Answer: in general, pretty goods products. JG 4.10.09
Answer: you can try increasing the Retin-A to a stronger strength, 0.1% and see, but peeling is not needed to get the benefits. JG 4.9.09
Answer: there is no way to tell if it did anything bad. JG 4.9.09
Answer: well, it has never been studied so no one can say for sure. I think Retin-A and Tazorac should be avoided while trying to get pregnant and stick with microdermabrasions while pregnant. JG 4.9.09
Answer: the 20% might be too irritating and will likely give you some donwtime to heal. JG 4.9.09
Answer: well, it is healed now, it just needs to repigment, that time will vary depending on your skin and the amount of sun exposure, no way to tell. JG 4.9.09
Answer: sorry, but not that I have seen be effective. I think Strivectin at present is no better than many other creams out there and is more expensive than their competition. JG 4.9.09
Answer: it has not been studied so I would avoid it for fear of damage to the baby. I think you can use micordermabrasions and likely light glycolic acid washes. JG 4.7.09
Answer: if you are using the cream just leave them open to air. JG 4.7.09
Answer: not uncommon from the bleeding and the scabbing, just continue doing as you are for now. I would not use the concealer until the scabs are off. JG 4.7.09
Answer: as a matter of fact, yes, we are going through the trials as we speak, stay tuned. JG 4.7.09
Answer: it is temporary and with a little time and sun it will all come back. JG 4.7.09
Answer: Medlite is a true YAG laser while IL is a light amplification device, like a weak laser. I think IPL is safer and at the same time not as effective, but understand that Asian skin is risky with both as to be effective it takes higher energy which can cause dark spots to appear, and no matter what you use, there will never be complete removal and it is temporary. Neither one should normally scab although it does happen at times. Medlite will also not do much for wrinkles. JG 4.7.09
Answer: good moisturizer that is similar in fatty acid make up to the fats in normal skin. Some people report it helping in acne control. JG 4.6.09
Answer: no set amount, it is fat soluble so it is easy to be absorbed. JG 4.6.09
Answer: better at night. JG 4.6.09
Answer: our dark circle cream is mostly for brown and blue, not red, sorry. JG 4.6.09
Answer: need to start low and work yoru way up once tolerating it, I suggest 0.05% at night and then increase dosing and strength to 0.1% over time. JG 4.6.09
Answer: the Retin-A is prsecription and we sell our peptide cream on our shopping cart. JG 4.5.09
Answer: broken capillaries, could try IPL or a YAG laser to control it. JG 4.4.09
Answer: sorry but no personal or patient experience with either one. JG 4.2.09
Answer: potentially yes but it has not been studied as extensively as Retin-A for that. JG 4.2.09
Answer: some people swear by it. It is easily absorbed and a good moisturizer should be absorbed, not just sit on your skin to be felt. JG 4.2.09
Answer: Retin-A. JG 4.1.09
Answer: I think for broken capillaries it is OK, I just feel that for most people, it will not tighten skin, which is also what it is marketed for. JG 4.1.09
Answer: just use the Retin-a and either of the cleansers, is all you need for that. JG 4.1.09
Answer: exfoliation does help, Retin-A should help also. JG 4.1.09
Answer: you can inject a filler if the line is there at rest, otherwise, not much. JG 3.31.09
Answer: just use Oil of Olay, and I think they are good products that are less expensive. JG 3.31.09
Answer: OK to use, NeoCutis is only sold in doctor`s offices, and you need to see the doctor in person to purchase it. JG 3.31.09
Answer: I suggest leaving a smal amount of stubble, not too much as you want the shaft to acccept the energy, the day before should be enough. JG 3.31.09
Answer: if injected deeply it should not cause lumps but it might take quite a bit to fill and lift the area. JG 3.31.09
Answer: no, I have not, cannot say what it could do than any other mask cannot though. JG 3.31.09
Answer: wait tne minutes and then the Tazorac should have absorbed enough the other cream should not dilute its effects. As to Prevage or Cindy Crawford, I would not use either to be honest, and both are weaker than the Tazorac.JG 3.31.09
Answer: might suggest some copper peptide cream, we use NeoCutis, best of luck. JG 3.30.09
Answer: I do not recommned the, muscle atrophy is minimal and if it does occur it then makes the future Botox injections last longer, I do not think the micro-current machines are worth it, they cause muscle flexion which is what you are trying to combat with Botox, they do produce a short period of swelling that makes things look better. JG 3.30.09
Answer: I do not think it will harm it. JG 3.27.09
Answer: apply the AHA/BHA first, wait ten minutes, then the peptide, that will decrease the chance of inactivation. JG 3.26.09
Answer: only ones that remove sun damage. JG 3.26.09
Answer: it depends greatly on the peptide, the term peptide is used generically, but in truth, it is a term that encompasses many different potetential substances, some are fragile and can be damaged by the hydroxy acids, but some are much stronger and do not break down. Not all peptides are the same. JG 3.25.09
Answer: I am not sure it will help, sorry. JG 3.25.09
Answer: yes, best of luck. JG 3.24.09
Answer: you can, as long as you skin can tolerate it, yes. JG 3.24.09
Answer: have not heard of it nor had any pateints try it. JG 3.24.09
Answer: sunblock blocks all of the sun, and sunscreen ony partially blocks it. Sunblock is better. JG 3.23.09

Answer: I have been very disapppointed by the results from those technologies, you will look better right after while swollen but the degree of long term improvement is almost non-existent. I think the risks of hyperpigmentation are small and I know of no new lasers that would be safe for darker skin. JG 316.09
Answer: well, to be truthful, the supposition is that Differin works like Retin-A did, but it has not been approved for facial wrinkles by the FDA like Retin-A was, but Atralin is essentially the same as Retin-A. I would use old-fashioned generic Retin-A and save your money. JG 316.09
Answer: I have not had any patients that have tried it, but I am always doubtful when the company says that 100% of patients report dramatic improvements, the only thing 100% certain is death. JG 316.09
Answer: not entirely in most cases, and even if improved, will likely come back with sun exposure. You have been experiencing the usual issues of Melasma treatmetn, nothing out there that will be any better I am afraid. JG 316.09
Answer: it does work, slowly, and will never remove all of the hair though. JG 3.15.09
Answer: that applies to treatment options like lasers or chemical peels, the skin there cannot tolerate as intense of a treatment, therefore the results will never be as dramatic as one can see on the face. JG 3.15.09
Answer: I have heard of them but I have never had a pateint try them and report to me their repsonse, sorry. JG 3.15.09
Answer: I still suggest the peptide cream and might suggest some bleaching creams like 4% hydroquinone for the brown spots but it can irritate the skin some. Renova alone will likely not remove the brown spots. You can use the Renova and the prptide together the Renova goes on first. Best of luck. JG 3.15.09
Answer: AHA first. You can mix the DMAE and the Vitamin C together, not sure how well it will mix tough. JG 3.15.09

Answer: just a good moisturizer, can try squalene oil from the health food store. JG 3.12.09
Answer: not sure if it is fishy or not, but in general, think about what you are doing, especially if you intend to sell, them if there is a problem with a patient that buys it, you are going to get sued, not worth the hassle I feel. JG 3.12.09
Answer: Honestly, I think unlless you go to school to learn how to make the products, you are likely asking for trouble. Most of that can be learned in pharmacy school, I do not recommend it to be done without extensive education. JG 3.12.09
Answer: can try applying the Finacea first and then applying the Obagi ten minutes later, I am afraid there are no compatability studies though. JG 3.11.09
Answer: put the Finacea on first and wait ten minutes before applying the Obagi products and see how it goes, no studies have been done to show their compatability though. JG 3.11.09

Answer: Vitamin C serum will help some with the wrinkles, not sure it will be too effective in lightening the darker pigments though, but the 4% hydroquinone will, I would apply the hydroquinone first and wait ten minutes then apply the Vitamin C. Best of luck. JG 3.10.09
Answer: well, I agree the effectiveness is likely less, you could try it and see what happens, the worst is likely that it just will not work as well, likely low chance of anything negative happening. Just might waste some time. JG 3.10.09
Answer: no worries. JG 3.10.09
Answer: 15 and 15 equals 30, divided by 2, is 15, so you are back where you started, 15 SPF. JG 3.10.09
Answer: at times some of the products used to treat hyperpigmentation, like Cosmolean and Retin-A and Hydroquinone cna irritate the skin and cause worsening of the red spots, these might need a laser to correct, but you have already seen what lasers can do at times. Don`t forget the sunblock too. JG 3.10.09
Answer: I am afraid the neck is a risky area to treat with laser as it does not heal easily, so aggressive lasers, which is typically what is needed to get thicker skin and tightening are not able to be used on the neck. The lasers out there used on the neck provide a very short term improvement that does not last much longer than the swelling does. JG 3.10.09
Answer: might suggest squalene oil or emu oil from the health food store, used very sparingly. JG 3.10.09
Answer: I have not heard that, no. JG 3.10.09

Answer: it will heal itself in time and I think the postive effects of the GentleLaser are grossly overexaggerated. Best of luck and give it time. JG 3.9.09
Answer: I think the SmartXide will do little. JG 3.9.09
Answer: no need for panic, just use your facial wash and let them flake off, it can take a few more days in some cases. JG 3.8.09
Answer: I think the results will be mild at best and short lived, but low risk with that. JG 3.8.09
Answer: I do not think the Gentle YAG will help and it has slowed the healing a small amount but it is a weak laser so it will not have negative effects for too long. JG 3.8.09
Answer: the doctor should have a surgical marker in his office he can use that will not affect the ability to perform the VBeam. JG 3.8.09
Answer: should be fine to do. JG 3.8.09
Answer: filler is used for deeper folds like nasolabial folds, it does not last as long for deeper fills like fat atrophy of the cheek, and does not work well for small superficial wrinles. JG 3.7.09

Answer: they are good, yes.JG 3.7.09
Answer: that`s more like it, I suggest going to 4% and seeing what happens. JG 3.7.09
Answer: I would start there are see what happens. It might cause some irritation at that strength and might need to be decreased. JG 3.7.09
Answer: Try this but be careful, not knowing how to formulate can cause bad reactions. http://www.dnpint.com/products/index.htm. JG 3.7.09
Answer: no, it should be continued and the skin uusually stops peeling after about 4-6 weeks. JG 3.6.09
Answer: I am not aware of any. JG 3.6.09
Answer: I do not think Retin-A would do that, you could apply the entire tube and the amount of Vitamin A absorbed would still not cause that. Sounds more like an anxiety attack if all else has been ruled out. JG 3.5.09
Answer: Retin-A , maybe some Kojic Acid, and sunblock. JG 3.5.09
Answer: do not think there will be permanent damage but it can take 2-4 weeks, all depends on how irritated it is. JG 3.5.09
Answer: might want to apply it to the lower eyelids and then apply a moisturizer about ten minutes later to combat the dryness that is likely the cause of the small fine lines. JG 3.5.09
Answer: good product and does not irritate as much as it is in a different base. The Renova might make yor skin better able to tolerate the normal Retin-A, yes. JG 3.5.09
Answer: yes, that would be a reasoanable option. JG 3.5.09
Answer: I use Botox and also my pepetide cream and sunblock. JG 3.4.09

Answer: it does not help all women with their acne, that is true. I think giving it a couple of months or more migth see it settle down some though. JG 3.1.09
Answer: I think they will all have about the same effect. JG 2.28.09
Answer: I prefer a Q-swiched YAG laser for that in olive skin. JG 2.28.09
Answer: it should be OK, yes. I think in general NeoCutis has good products, not sure how well that particular product will fade blemishes though compared to Retin-A with Hydroquinone. Best of luck. JG 2.28.09
Answer: it is essentially the same thing. Some doctors sell Retin-A out of their office if they have a dispensing license, yes. In my experience it should work the same way. Most of us that do that can also mix other things in with the Retin-A at the same time, like bleaching creams. JG 2.27.09
Answer: it will help also. JG 2.27.09
Answer: I would give it one month before switching to another bleaching cream as that one can also burn. JG 2.27.09
Answer: OK, first to rolling versus ice pick scars, the rolling scars are like little undulations in the skin while ice pick scars are like big pores. No laser will help ice pick scars. As to getting hyperpigmentation from an Erbium or a Fraxel, if you hyperpigment from the acne, you will hyperpigment from the Erbium and the Fraxel too. I will tell you that as much as you want to improve the acne scars, I think the Erbium and Fraxel, while swollen will look like they did wonders and as soon as the swelling goes down, then it will either look the same or you will have hyperpigmentation, or worse, hypopigmentation which is the loss of pigment which is not easy to treat. As much as it would be nice to help your scars, I personally would never treat a mixed Asian/Hispanic with any type of laser, superficial, fractionated or not. I think the risk/benefit ration is not in your favor with your history. Punch excisions for the ice pick scars should look better, a small straight flat scar which is easier to hide with make up than rather than a hole. As to the rolling scars, that will not do well with punch excisions due to the amount of skin that is required to be removed. I am afraid there is nothing safe for your skin, sorry. JG 2.26.09
Answer: the only thing you will see is a slowing of the progression of the wrinkles, but no reversal. JG 2.26.09
Answer: higher risk than in paler skin.JG 2.26.09
Answer: I do not think Erbium laser is safe for ethnic skin. Feathering scars I think will not work, even if the laser was safe to use, you typically need a broader area treated in order to induce enough tightening to see a visible difference. Pre-treatment is certainly more effective than post-treatment for the hyperpigmentation, I think the issue in ethnic skin though is not only hyperpigmentation, but also hypopigmentation, or the permanent loss of color which cannot be treated. Might consider having a surgical excision and then that will raise the surface to a more even point. JG 2.26.09
Answer: $50. JG 2.26.09
Answer: might need to try some stronger beta hydroxy acid peels and some YAG lasers done lightly. JG 2.26.09
Answer: I would suggest a moderate depth CO2 totally ablative laser and Botox in conjunction. JG 2.26.09
Answer: no, they will come back even without the base. I am afriad there is not much else that can be done, they will persist and in time likely get more. It is a genetic thing, not due ot what you apply to your skin. JG 2.25.09
Answer: well, some people will get a lot of irritation from the Retin-A at 0.1% and others tolerate it well, I think the only way to know is to do a trial and see. I will say though, that likely you will not see anything dramatic in terms of your crow`s feet with Retin-A. I think the results will be minimal to moderate at best. It will help brown spots if relatively recent but in order for it to do that, you need to have the skin irritation as it needs to exfoliatate the top layers of skin. The longer the spot has been there, the less likely it will help, Also, if it does help, in time, the spot will come back due to sun exposure. Best of luck. JG 2.24.09
Answer: well the Retin-A will make the redness worse but the Aloe might help some. I think squalene oil is all you need. JG 2.24.09
