The Medlite Laser System uses light energy to remove the ink from your unwanted tattoo.
What Type of Tattoos Can Be Treated?
The Medlite laser is capable of removing almost any type of tattoo, including:
- Amateur (homemade)
How Tattoo Removal Works
The Medlite Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser can significantly lighten or remove a wide variety of tattoo inks. The laser pulses specific wavelengths of light through the skin. These wavelengths are absorbed by the ink of the tattoo.
The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to break apart into tiny particles that the body can naturally excrete with its filtering systems. The Medlite laser leaves the surrounding skin unharmed.
What to Expect
You can generally expect each tattoo removal treatment to last from 15-45 minutes. The number of treatments required depends on the type of ink and the depth of the ink in the skin. Some ink colors, such as blue and black, are easier to remove than others, such as green and yellow. Most tattoos can be removed with 6-8 treatments spaced over a series of months. In many cases, more than 95% fading of the tattoo can be accomplished.
After your treatment, an antibacterial ointment and dressing will be applied. You may experience some pinpoint bleeding. The area should be kept clean but not scrubbed. Do not pick or scratch at any scab that forms in the treatment area.
